It's not true and they are TV-police they have roles. The guy on bike is probably heavily on drugs. In the same city the police stopped a teenage girl driving a moped scooter by spraying pepper spray from a car window on high speed to her face so that she hit a tree and broke her leg. These TV-shows are just propaganda even though on average Finland has decent police officers but there's many criminals in there too. As an European country Finland has a big drug and alcohol problem, a lot of mental health problems and also problems in the society that are not fixed because it is politically an EU/Feminist-dictatorship and the people has no voice. All men are at the same time forced to army service, which is now turning to a NATO army, without asking the people anything. Not to mention the darkness that lasts like 8 months. Not the happiest country in the world, sorry. Also the amount of corruption in politics, media and other institutions is overwhelming and to say we would have just little corruption is a Big joke.

Something to note to people outside of Finland: here the police have two jobs: to protect other people from criminals, but also protect the person who is being controlled. So in this case they were also protecting him and they had no reason to force him to stop since he didn't necessarily do anything huge against the law. Bikers can actually ride the same roads as cars here - and in some cases they are required do so by law.

Tell me more about Finland if you want to, the crimes, how developed it is, standard of living etc. Btw if Police shoots someone here in Poland it's also big news but that's slowly changing and there is more shooting happening. Mostly on the news and internet you will see Polish Police not knowing how to use and effectively stop someone with a pistol, except for the anti terrorist police. A couple weeks ago some person drove into a gas station, nearly run some people over and the police, like children, instead of shooting that person as she was threatening multiple lives or at least unloading a magazine into the engine bay, they ran around, shot a couple times at the tires which they missed and a local next to them was shouting at the top of his lungs to shoot the tyres, pull her out etc. I think that's also it is due to our law that requires you to think about 200 reasons to shoot someone why you even shot in general, if they won't give a complicated reason then they go to jail.

I only had pleasant encounters with the Finnish police whenever I was in Finland. I once got a little lost and asked policemen for the directions, they were like "jump in, we will drive you". They are still what we call in Germany "Freund und Helfer"/"Friend and Helper", the German police lost this attitude over time...i think the changing society is to blame.

Every time I've had encounters with German police they've been nothing but good and positive. On your anecdote on giving a ride I've only got very exact guides where to go, when asked. Last time I had to deal with German police was when I was breaking a fight in Bremen, took a few punches (gave a few back), I was only asked on the site of what happened and left them with my contacts. Very professional, in my opinion. Also noteworthy is, that all of my encounters with German police have been in English. My German is limited to ordering beer, left/right and the usual tschüss/danke/bitte... :)

Believe it or not, this is also a result of our great educational system. Finnish cops go through years of training in "cop college" before taking up a job in the police force. They know how to assess situations and violent methods are used only after serious consideration. They also know how to handle things without emptying their gun into a suspect first, and only then asking questions. Having cops like they have in the US would be a nightmare to us!

@@susanna8612 Only requirements for getting a permission for gun are a background chech, age of 18 and a good reason. Self-defence is not counted as a good reason, but hunting as a hobby is, as is sports shooting and reservist shooting. You are full of shit and have no idea what you are talking about. Most people that own a hunting gun, be it a rifle, shotgun or any other weapon are people who hunt as a sport and not as a professional who makes their living with it. Same goes for sports shooters and reservists. Only a very small amount of them are professionals, while most of them are ordinary people with ordinary jobs. The Finnish system differs from the systems used in most states by having a more thorough background chech, needing a reason other than self defence, requiring that you prove to the police your capability to handle and maintain the gun safely, requiring that you have been actively practising a shooting hobby for 1,5 years to get a permit for a pistol and having a quite a bit longer and involved process to get a full auto guns. On the other hand, our system is much more relaxed than say California's gun laws, because we can have long mags, pistol grips etc. And as I said, Finland has the fifth most guns owned by civilians per capita, ordinary, average people most definetly have guns, and only reason you cannot get one is if you have no reason to own one, are not fit to own one or don't have the storage space or money for a good enough gun safe.
