Have you learnt ( or learned as you seem to be Americans) a foreign language ? In my opinion it should be compulsory before teaching English for any native.

So either you're able to understand what is writing/saying - and in this case you are not a beginner - or you aren't able to. For beginners you need to add specific drawings. To see to women speaking even with the captions is not enough. I can tell you if it was in Finnish -
