Morning, Mark, from Hanoi. Last week, I just made word-of-mouth about your channel with my family and friends. I told them I ran into a great Canadian teacher on RU-vid, and now Mark's my "cup of strong coffee in the morning and afternoon." Stay funny as you're!

Word -of-mouth is called "Sarafan radio" in Russia, which is most reliable and free ad for everything. When the radio appeared first, people used to gather on one place and listen to the news, then women (who wear sarafans) would spread the news around the neighborhood.

Good lesson. I think "selling like hot cakes" refers to cakes fresh from the oven that are immediately snapped up by customers, hence implying brisk sales.

Hey, I made a lot of Freudian slips in the past, for example, instead of calling my friend With his right name, I called him with another name. About word-of-mouth, this method is used by young doctors in order to be known by the public. Take care!

Hi, the best vacuum cleaner I've ever had was Samsung: green and easy it wolfed out everything on its way. Now I own Rowenta which was highly recommended in commercials and word-of-mouth comments, but it isn't really worth it. It's a big trouble for me to bring its 10 kg of live weight through the rooms and it isn't so powerful as it was announced. Many years ago I'd vouched for Samsung vacuum cleaner, Electrolux kitchen appliances and Whirlpool washing machine and my parents and closest neighbors bought them after me and were thankful me for advice. P.S.: if you had roamed with your vacuum cleaner in my neck of the woods, I definitely would have bought your product 😁 I love watching your episodes. Good luck and take care!🤗

Fresh things sell out as hotcakes. In malayalam we say instead of hotcakes choodu appam. Choodu means hot appam means cake like dosha, idly, puttu have breakfast if it's hot everybody loves it or cool doesn't like much-loved. Here we say fresh quality things (choodu appam polea vittu pokum. ) means sell out faster.

It sells like hotcakes, we say in russian. Bcs only hot hotcakes(which stuffed with meat, potato, fried cabbage) are most tasty, so sellers and buyers are in a hurry.

I have often happened Freudian slip. For ex: when I learn English my mind or brain slip into another thing. So I have to practice more. I will stop if I am not interested in. Sometimes I am bored here to mad . Later I will begin again why ? Because mad is affectionate. I vouch you to my family, friends and neighbours.

Hey Mark, thanks for the interesting lesson today. As always, very funny. 😊 It sells like hotcakes - in German we use a similar idiom. We say, it goes like sliced bread. 😎 Same thing, I don't know why. Hm, in my opinion, I would never buy an electric car. Perhaps in 10 or 20 years this technology is getting better and more efficient. On the other hand I think of the people who collected the lithium in southern America.... Next question is, how long do you have ride this car to have an advantage for you, and for the environment? It's a difficult topic. Especially in Canadian winter. Probably you have to recharge the battery each 20 kilometers. 😊 I was laughing so hard when you started to explain the word "redneck". I asked myself, how'd that nice guy explain this term in a polite way to us.... 😂 Once again, thank you for teaching us. Have a good one! Take care, Michael from Germany 😊
@MadEnglishTV
@MadEnglishTV Месяц назад
Hey Michael, thanks for your comment! Yeah, I think cold weather makes electric car ownership a bit disappointing. I would buy a PHEV instead so that I can still use gas for longer trips. When I was in Germany I met a few rednecks as well. Haha Have a great day!
