He pretented to be drunk in Bruxelles. It went very viral on media, TV...Everybody was talking about Stromae drunk in the center of Bruxelles. And then, a few days latter he released the video clip that went even more viral ! So until the release, no one knew he was just ACTING drunk ! By the way, go listen to "Brothers - Riles", that's a french rapper from Rouen !

As people already said, he is pretending to be drunk and nobody knew it! He explained that it was a very difficult exercise for him, and he went through some kind of a mental breakdown after the performance. I’m very happy to see his come back after a 7 years break! He needed it and you should look into his backstory. He went through a lot but seems to feel better now, and it is a good thing 🙂

The "this is not a lessons" refers to his tutorials he used to make on his channel called "Lesson" in which he showed how he made the beats for his most popular songs

Stromae keeps getting viral here in France, after his appearance at the national news, singing "l'Enfer" in the middle of the interview like if it wasn't prepared. Also, you should check Vald's last video, pretty...disturbing, to say the least ! And it's a great song.

He is what music is supposed to be. Every song has a story to it and he somehow translates it flawlessly into a song and does not care who hears as long as people actually listen

Stromae did this clip bécause few month ago à Guy recorded him eating a "taboulet" in his car. The video was shared everywhere. Hé was not happy about the "curiosity" of people Who shared it and so on. So he had this idea to record his clip, making like hé was drunk. People record him like this Guy when hé was eating. Even the média shared the video saying "stromae drunk in the middle of the street, stromae in dépression after his succes" Week later he went to à tv show and interprete his song pretending hé is drunk. People discovered that they were "pranked" and everybody were accord to say GENIUS

He was ashamed to do it! It traumatised him for a couple of days, he's said. He's a great performer and actor. I expect he'll do movies at some point. He's just got that capacity in him, you can tell. Possibly my favorite of his songs. So reminiscent (yet very different) from performances and songs by Jacques Brel (another Belgian singer, extremely famous in the French speaking world). Heartbreaking. It just pulls you in.

"I see why it's not a lesson" Well not really, before his big big fame, he was doing breakdowns/tutorial of his work on youtube called "leçons", there is around more than 20 of them IIRC :), if I am not mistaken, there was 1-2 leçons in 2013, thats why it's specified that it's not one.

It’s also a reference to a painting from a Belgian painter called Magritte, where there is a smoking pipe and underneath a paradoxical writing saying “this is not a smoking pipe”. So as he says this is not a lesson, you can understand that it actually is

I guess it says 'this is not a lesson' because stromae used to publish some 'lessons' where he explained how he was making the music. So it's more to highlight that this is an official music video.

Formidable just means 'fantastic'. And the wink at the last second of the video indicates he was just acting and was not actually drunk.

He said on an interview that people watch drunk man ( or woman) on the streets like they are dangerous. They just don’t know the same man is just on a bad period of his life

I'm french so sorry if i made mistakes. Fist of all thank you for your work..Stromae is a masteo...dip an true. A Real artist Who taks about sensitive social subjectif with so much talent. An another kind of music. I recommand you " I Am". Old Group of french rap. Very popular in France. You can listen to "petit frère " and "l'empire du cote obscur". For the record. Orelsan is fan of them.
