Hey I’m Maltese and I might be able to explain why we where for sale. My best guess is that in Ancient Greece and Rome we where called malet which is a rough version of honey in Ancient Greek so I think he was speaking a modern variations the language and was actually selling honey 🍯. Yes it's written in Bengali. And it's somewhere in Bangladesh. And Malta in Bengali language means Sweet Orange. It is a fruit which came from the cross breeding of Pomelo and Orange. A common fruit in Bangladesh and also in South Asia.
