Love that a world famous chef does simple home made burgers. No wanky brioche bun, no special sauce, burger isn't made up of 50 ingredients and he uses a simple toaster like a normal person.

Besides watching Jacques Pepin cook, I love listening to his voice. My maternal Grandmother was from France and it reminds me so much of how she'd speak English in her beautiful accent. It's so comforting to watch him cook and listen to him describe the process while relating personal stories. I'm sure I'll never have the privilege of meeting Mr. Pepin, but I'm extremely grateful to be able to watch his videos on RU-vid and Instagram every day.

"This is purely a question of taste." - Jacques Pépin Jacques Pépin is not your traditional chef although he is a old. He insists to use personal preference on foods rather than the food should be on a traditional type of taste. This is what a chef should be. You should trust your personal taste when cooking. Cooking is like visual art and literature. It is more a generalized thing rather than to acquire specific audience.
@AdamBechtol
@AdamBechtol 3 года назад
However, as much as I adore him as well, I don't think that particlar aspect ( cooking ground meat to well done) is a matter of taste, I do belive it's a food pathegen safety issue. You can look into it, it has to do with the meat surface being ground up, as opposed to say a steak where it's on the outside
@izaccsgansit3507

@Mr. Cool But the point is how many people reading this don't know where their meat comes from?? I'm sure if i had my own pasture and cattle and butchery, etc. I would let the lords immune system do it's work. But my comment wasn't for wealthy outdoor raised, antibiotic and groth hormone free grass fed and finished artisinal beef eaters :p
