The meaning behind this song is that everyday she challenged herself to not jump because if you listen to the end she said "take off my yellow cardigan" (the third girl she talked to) "undo my braides" (the first girl) "this petite girl short as can be" (the second girl she talked to) she was having conflicts with herself and tried to save her emotions but ended up killer herself

All of the girls she met were her own reasons for committing suicide. All of them jumped out of the roof because those reasons can't bother her anymore, so they disappeared, except for the last reason. This "last reason" went back to the door instead of jumping. That reason was too much for the girl to let it go. And in the end, she jumped because of that. I guess "My R" is "My Reflection"

The braided haired girl didn't jump. Not the petite girl. Them jumping symbolized them being free of their burdens. She saw it as them jumping because she saw herself in them. The reason why the girl was taking her shoes off was because she was planning on committing suicide... In Japan when one commits suicide on a rooftop the person usually takes off their shoes as well as leaving a suicide note underneath them explaining why they did so. Oh and with another certain part of the video with the girl in pig tails staring at her desk with a flower vase and writing on it with a huge red X. The English translation of the kanji on her desk means "die" and in Japan leaving a specific type of white flower on someone's desk means you wish death upon them. Also all of the girls are the same person, she was talking herself out of committing suicide each time (Except she couldn't for the girl in yellow) but in the end she ran out of reasons to not jump and then gave up. Some people think at the end of the video she was saved while other people think it's a metaphor for 'Jumpers regret'.

This is my favorite song, it is about suicide. I know it's a little sad.

from what i understood from the song, instead of the girls jumping the main girl makes them change their mind and convinces them that she had it worse so they shouldnt throw their life away for something like that. at the end, the girl with the yellow cardigan realizes that even if everything else in her life sucks, today she finally met someone who cares about her (even if they dont know each other) and out of consideration and not wanting to traumatize the main girl decides that she will "come again another day" (which leaves an open ending as to whether she actually will or if the main girl made her think it over). at the very end we get a perspective from ALL of the other girls, just before they were saved and the main girl came in to (figuratively) catch them. now if youre looking at another meaning, another interpretation i see often is that the girls were each a part of her and each time she manages to convince herself that it could be worse, at the yellow cardigan part she cannot come up with anything and yet for some reason, be it fear or a change of heart, she chooses not to end it today (with the pretence of "ill come back another time" to make it easier to give up on today, using procrastination as an excuse). but in the end, she cannot fight it anymore... comes to terms... and jumps...

This is a unique song that can be seen in different ways my personal one is that all the girls was our main character reasons for jumping but she talked herself out if it wishing she had someone else to help her through it and that she wasn't alone. The last girl is her main reason fir jumping but she finds herself hard to talk out it but when she's about to jump you see someone save her, some people see it as herself realising she doesn't wanna jump she wants to live but I like to see it as a complete different person that remind our girl that's she not alone.

The meaning behind the song is that each girl is a previous version if herself, and with them jumping,it symbolises her letting go of that, in that they 'dissapeared' and with the girl in the cardigan leaving instead of jumping,it's just her repressing that thought. (Btw in Japan when people commit suicide by jumping off a height, they take off their shoes.)

This is what the song means; The 'girls' are all the same person. It's one girl trying to convince herself not to jump. When each girl jumps she moves past it, hence the "that for some stupid reason you got here before me!" parts. But with her abusive parent/Guardian, aka what the girl in the yellow cardigan represents, she can't get past it, hence why she didn't jump. After the girl jumps, the hand at the end symbolizes the regret she's having, but it was too late, seeing as she'd jumped. Nobody tried to save her, she tried to save herself. Once you know the meaning, the songs even sadder. Because before when you thought it was different girls, at least someone was trying to help them. But when you realize they were the same girl, it's sadder. Because nobody tried save her.

So I know they are the same person and all but with the lyrics and the animation it sounds like she’s telling the first two girls to jump so they won’t be hurt anymore but she did give them reasons to live. With the third girl she told her to jump but the third girl found reasons to live and didn’t kill herself. And at the end when the girl jumped the third girl saved her because she didn’t want to to end up like the other girls.

As for the reason why she took off her shoes, its actually a Japanese culture kinda thing (the og was in Japanese). Taking off their shoes before they jump is like a silent note for those who find her body saying that they werent murdered (ex: someone pushed her off) and that they choose to do this themself (suicide)

Each of the girls were the same girl, and the ones that jumped off were sort of like her letting go of the pain that she experienced. She told herself each time that it could be worse, but at the end, when the girl in yellow was there, she couldn't handle the pain. When the girl in yellow walked away, she didn't let it go and so the next time she went to the rooftop, she jumped and killed herself for real.

I feel like explaining that, in Japan, it's a "tradition" if you will, to take off your shoes before committing suicide. Not entirely sure why, though. There are multiple reasons and theories as to why the Japanese do this. And in one of the scenes where it showed a girl looking down at a desk, the vase of flowers represents death. However, if placed on a living persons' desk, it's implying that whoever put the flowers there wants that person to die.
