Beautifully performed...terrific

beautifully played. never understood why this isn't played by every duo out there. so many gushingly beautiful bits like the slow part of mvt. 1 and the whole 2nd mvt. love the sea shanty last movement too. such great writing for guitars, the way they mesh and play off each other. too bad the big finish gets cut off here, but so glad i found this

Hi Ray, thanks for posting this. I'm learning Jack's Prelude from the first English Suite at the moment, to hopefully post here soon. (we've met before by the way, I'm Chris Dell's son - remember the concerts at the Malthouse?)

Very fine performance. JD wrote a lot of fine music, unfortunately, most of it remains unplayed or unknown. People know his more as a music scholar and writer, but he was also a superb composer. But, even though he wrote in many styles and levels of difficulty, all of his music is exquisitely well-crafted and full of beautiful harmonies and lovely melodies. Perhaps in the future his music will be more well known.
