Here's a short follow-up of my original review of the Engo 2 Sunglasses with heads-up display for runners, cycling, hiking, etc.
The Engo 2 are lightweight, comfortable and provide basic information about your activity either from your phone or smartwatch. I use a Garmin Fenix 6x and it works great with it. The screen switching technology is annoying and doesn't work well, at least for me.

Thank you for the video. A question - can you stream a google maps or similar from your phone to this?

No, the display is very basic, only numbers related to the workout. Things like: Heart rate, time of day, speed, cadence, distance, pace, etc. No images, video, phone number, song playing, etc.

Any updates? I just purchased them. I’ll be taking them outside this weekend for a run and cycling. I agree that the app is basic and the swiping to switch screens is shotty. But they’re really cool. I hope some updates come to this.

I'll post an update here soon, I really like them better for cycling, especially to track speed in real time without looking down to a bike computer or watch. The field of view is better for cycling too. Sometimes when I'm running I do find the numbers distracting.

@@getthedubwilly thanks for sharing. I did cycling 31 miles today using the Engo 2. They worked very well. I think Garmin and ActiveLook need to work on the app and the connection. And I don’t seem to be able to adjust the screens to my liking unless I start a run/ride with the ActiveLook app or my Apple watch. But if you use Garmin, it seems to build its own screens.

Hello, I just got the Engo 2 and tried it for my first run. I do agreed with your experience on the glasses. One annoying issue which I also have is the gesture sensor, it stopped working in the middle of my activity, I had to turn of the glasses and on for it to start functioning again. This was very frustrating as you can't get back to the screen you want. This is a major flaw. I opened a support case with Engo support and waiting for their response. Have you tried reaching out to them on this issue? I'll have to test this on a few more runs to decide if I will keep or return them.

I like the glasses, but the screen switching mechanism of waiving in front of it just does not work well. I don't know if it has to do with outdoor lighting, shadows, or what not, but sometimes it works, some times it doesn't. I also had to restart the glasses mid-run when it stopped responding to my multiple waving. What I have opted to do is to stick with just one screen, set it up when I start the run, and don't change it.

18 months in, my glasses will not charge. I had them plugged in to make changes to my screens, the next day, they would not turn on, the charging light won't come on. I have started a warranty request, and I'm waiting for a return label. See how long it takes.

Hi! Also an Engo 2 owner here. Got one of the first units last autumn. The unit came DOA and had to RMA it. The second unit worked alright. Generally my impressions are the same as yours. On the neg side I’m having issues with the charging. If charging cable is already plugged to a charger when you connect the glasses it creates some sort of short and bricks the unit. Engo replied I must fully discharge for 3-4 days to reset. And when charging, connect cable to glasses first and then to a charger. Have you experienced anything similar?

Wow, no, I have not had any issues charging or with the unit becoming non-responsive. I usually already have my charger plugged in and hoook up the glasses up to the charging end. No problems at all. I'm not sure it should make a difference though, plug glasses in first or cable to charger first. That's silly I think. No other device requires that, and I can't see the rationale for it. I guess when you are in the avant guard of things, you're liable to get some stuff that is not fully cooked. Good luck with that unit.

Engo2 here, mine worked for a month, and then stop charging. Did the 3-4 days reset per Engo no no avail. RMA them, and just got the "Enterprise" model that are not the ones I originally had. So back to Return process again. I'll look for a 0.5 amp brick, cause that is what engo work with. The smallest one I have is 1 amp, maybe that is hurting the chaging process.

Quick question, is there any way to change the Heads Up Display so it can be seen by the left eye rather than the right eye? My right eye has very poor vision so I probably wouldn't be able to see the display, whereas my left eye is fine.

As far as I know the display is installed to the right side of the nose. It is a hardware setting, not a software one so it cannot be changed. Also, I have not seen any options to order left or right eyed display. As far as I know you're stuck with the right eye display.

No way to move it, is fixed on one side. Also it doesnt have any "focus" feature, that will help a lot guys like you and me with tired eyes.

I've had to send back 2 sets (both times replaced with a new pair to be fair) - first one, it stopped connecting to my phone or garmin, the second went dead completely after just 2 runs. After inspection, they said it was due to moisture / salt water in the electronics - which given I don't swim with them!! - it seems they are not really strong enough to survive long hot runs in the sun with lots of sweat. Disappointed.

Sorry to hear, I live in Colorado so not much moisture here. I will take them with me when I travel and see how they perform by the coast. Hope they do Okay. I do like my Engo 2 glasses. But I would hope they would have accounted for moisture from the weather and the body. Thanks for your comment.

I had a similar issue, I had my 1st pair working and after 4 runs, they stop working. Long runs with 78% averge humidity and average temperature of 83F, so a lot of salty sweat. Now I had a different model arrived, "Enterprise" that for indoor uses, so not the same model I used. To the return table again.

@RichardWait the Enterprise model is the same model as the Engo2, but the lenses are almost fully transparent. Those are targeted for indoor use, technical engineering, and those sorts.

I definitely would not wear it for a race, like a marathon or even half. But I do like them for biking. The screen switching is annoying, but once I find the screen I like I just leave it there.
