A quick cheap and easy way to engrave glass using the xtool S1 40-watt diode laser or any laser that has the same capabilities. In this video we use some super cheap acrylic paint and the rotary tool from xtool. with the two items combined it is easy and simple to engrave glass and cost very little. No need to buy expensive product for glass engraving when you can do it for around a dollar. Using the rotary tool you can engrave cups, tumblers, and glass. the RA2 by xtool serves multiple purposes.

Can you do this with the s1 20w?

@@Ysalomet you should be able to, it might be a little slower though. If you have issues please let me know

It amazes me that so many "experts" use all sorts of crap for engraving instead of just buying the product that is made for laser marking. A 2oz spray can of Cermark is $20.00 but, you can do over a hundred glasses with it and it washes right off with water. Why waist your time scrubbing paint off ???
@everygooddaydesigns
@everygooddaydesigns 12 дней назад
@@billwatcher9321 Get the Cermark then lol. Some people dont want to buy that. a bottle of paint is like a dollar compared to 20 bucks. If thats the route you want to go then do it

I saw a video where a guy used a sharpie instead of paint, but I’m waiting for my engraver to arrive so what do I know lol

I havent tried the sharpie but it could work, I do know the paint works though lolol. Maybe I'll test the sharpie thing, it might be quicker than watching paint dry lol

@@everygooddaydesigns I have developed and taught several laser courses including rotary for 150W CO2 machines and just ordered an SI with a 40W, IR module and rotary for my partner. Really like the safety features on the S1 and am impressed with the S1 videos.

@@drdisko yeah, its been a really awesome machine so far. The software is pretty easy to learn as well. I recommend skipping the conveyor feeder unless you are doing thinner material and only plan to engrave. I also can't recommend their IR laser, the first laser I got almost immediatly gave warnings for over heating. They replaced that laser with a new one and it did the same thing. I began to troubleshoot random things like check the air assist and see if it was causing the issue and other things. I think its a software issue but I have not been able to confirm that yet. Sorry about that lengthy post, I like the S1 alot, just wish they put more thought into some of the add-ons. (Tumbler rotary is pretty good)

What would have happened if you put the black paint inside the glass instead of outside? Would it have made a difference?
@everygooddaydesigns
@everygooddaydesigns 3 месяца назад
I havent tried that but I'm curious if it wpuld melt on the inside since the laser passes through glass and stops at the paint

@@everygooddaydesigns Are you happy with the S1? Been looking into getting into lasers but dang hard trying to find a RU-vidr that wasn’t given a machine for free or sponsored… I saw your other video with the IR laser having a problem, did XTool fit it for you?
@everygooddaydesigns
@everygooddaydesigns 3 месяца назад
@@TheExtremeElementz so I like the S1 alot and the software that comes with it is straight forward. I reccommend it if you are looking for something to do work with. (Get the 40W if you plane on cutting). I wish it had a little more space inside the machine for engraving though. As far as the IR laser, they sent me a new one, it does the same thing though. Idk what the issue is with it but I think its something to do with software. The laser almost always say its overheating after using it for just a few seconds. If that is the way its buikt then they should rethink the IR laser
