I engraved a 4"x4" slate coaster this morning. Sat down this afternoon and was watching a video, went to sleep and woke up to this video playing. How cool is that. Lol Thanks for the info and idea.
I engraved 8x11" slate with the 'Teeter' coat of arms and gave them to my grandkids for Christmas. I did a topcoat before engraving. They looked great, but they didn't smell very good when engraving. Thank goodness for exhaust!
Nice job. Another gold star on the "Happy Wife, Happy Life" chart. Just three more and you'll qualify for the "Please bring me a sandwich to the shop" reward. 😂😂😂
@@TheClackShack that’s exactly what I do. I usually keep the first one which my wife confiscates, and sell the remainders. If I find there is a demand I start making and selling more. I always try to “pay-off” my hobby if I can. My wife doesn’t buy “ it’s a write-off” anymore!
What kind of eye protection do you use? I want to be able to watch the laser work a bit but not with the cheap pair it came with haha. Just got the same laser a few months ago and have been loving it! Your videos have really helped me with learning how to run it.
I would love to learn more about lightburn I am new to lightburn and know little about it I used Photoshop, Autocad and CorelDraw but I am moving away from those due to the expense of updating every year.
Dave, great RU-vid series, I watch from the UK. Have you done any slate engraving with the Ortur Laser Master 3 yet, and if so, could you please let us know what settings you used?
Im a bit confused on the "focus" you are talking about, I never use the button on the right side of the laser, just the left to adjust using that metal rod to set the spacing between the laser and the material. I tried an engraving on slate with your settings and it turned out very rough and gravely.
I think your videos are brilliant i've watched quit a few, i've only just pluged up my Xtool pro, i purchased your patterns for the alignment jigs and i was wondering how i import them to the machine from my email Regards steve
I have the Xtool D1 Pro 20w machine. I did my first slate at 100% power and 200mm/s speed, it came out fine, but I would like to get the engraved part a little whiter. Any suggestions on maybe changing the speed or power settings. Thanks.
