Totally correct! I made the change, and adjusted all other settings manually on standard setting. Now movies look like real film, like a different TV. Wow. All content looks better. Thank you so much. My Sony Bravia has this setting thank goodness. I set all inputs the same way and even my PC input looks amazing. Cheers.
I owned a 2024 Sony Bravia 7 75 in mini led tv, and i just wished that you could make a full setting for this tv.... by the way the tv rocks... thanks a lot for your video... it helps a lot.
Very nice thankyou, a noticable change when viewing cinematic 4k movies (lord of the rings series, pirates of the caribean movies, the revenant, etc) and just that little bit closer to oled quality since implementing these settings. I have never seen cinema mode pop more than standard as its usually flat and uninspiring. Your recommended settings add deeper blacks, richer colour and more clarity and although the brightness suffers a little, the payoff to get that bit closer to oled quality is worth it IMHO.
Well I'll be darn, thanks for this man, I tweaked and tweaked and got it just the way I wanted but this one setting is the cherry on top. Thanks Brotha!
FINALLY! I thought I subscribed already, then went looking for THIS vid when I got my OLED TV (I planned the settings and calibration videos before I purchased it) AND I lost this! Now I have refound it, saved it, subscribed to it, and am not going to have a MUCH better experience playing my 4K movies and 4K GAMES!
I just watched a Sony a90j video of yours from a year ago , where you recommend adobe rgb and auto white balance/ tone curve ( on) , wow it makes sdr sports content look fantastic 😃👏👌
DCI but with color level down to 44 or 46 seems to be perfect. DCI with color at 50 is just too saturated. Specifically the Cleveland Browns orange pants were too saturated today. I was decreasing saturation on specific colors but just turning down to 46 or 44 seems safer.
Thank you for this video. I just bought a Sony 65" Class Bravia XR A80K HDR OLED and am very unhappy with the picture. I'm going right now and make this one change to see how it changes the picture. I like how you refer to the Vivid setting as Torch as that is exactly what it is, a torch almost blinding!
Agreed, generic factory settings are mediocre on any TV not just Sony. I’ve spent a good amount of time fine tuning my A80J, now set to BT2020, looks super gorgeous.
Thanks for the tip. Made the setting change on my Sony X85K while watching your video. Quite a difference. SDR looks awesome, as if it is HDR. I also have a Roku Box connected and set on Dolby Vision Bright but I can’t change the color space setting for some reason. Maybe I have to take it off of Dolby and run standard HDR or HDR10. Anyways, thanks. Not oversaturated at all. To the contrary, the DCI setting makes the recommended settings look robbed of color and contrast…Also I made a comparison using a blue ray disk (4K) between 2 settings, HDR on without DCI and HDR off with DCI. HDR off with DCI looked better and brighter and not at all washed out like Vivid Mode. HDR settings seem to lower the brightness and reduce contrast sometimes. Makes me curious about your other unconventional settings for image enhancement…
Hello my good sir. I have an X90K and love BT2020. If I were to attempt at calibrating on my own, do i have to set the colorspace first or calibrate first then set the colorspace?
I'm based in the UK and have this model. Can't find DCI on there, but a lot of RGB settings instead, so I don't know what the equivalent to DCI is on the UK version.
Hi, I’m going to purchase my 1st Sony XR90L. Can you provide me your personal settings for this tv besides dci setting which your right on point. I appreciate your expertise on the subject. Thank you….
I got Me an Sony TV 43x85K uhd Smart, Google and I've been trying to get the Colors that I want to See, when I had gone to the Store and Seen the Great Colors I thought I would see the Same, No way near it.. Do You know the settings that I could set on My tv
Now 5euro for tv get more sense.I didnt like picture from 77a95l so mouch.Custom pp is ok but nead to be properly calibrated if you like to get maximum from one set.
Im not a pro calibrater but been messing with settings on my a90k i think the color space setting really depends on the game imo they all have different game engines just my opinion i think bt2020 looks too blown out like in doom eternal for example because of the red for example was too overblown. I like sRGB/bt709 but i’ll try these settings man. Im no pro calibrater but no shame in messing with the settings and seeing what looks best to your eyes
Thanks for this tip, I'm trying it on my A80J and so far it looks great. Colors Pop now, but I'm wondering if I should change this setting in Dolby Vision too?
I just got a sony kd65x85k. I feel like the picture could be much better. What settings do you recommend? I just adjusted the color space setting and you're right. It improves the picture for sure. What else do you recommend I change?
Hey what's up Quantum As always I love your videos I had purchased a Samsung Q8FN Back in 2018 and I remember you mentioning about the firmware update that I ended up eventually updating not personally because I wanted to but Samsung You know how that little trick If you have the TV Connected it will update by itself without you having auto update. I wanted to double check. I just bought a Sony A90J. And I just wanted to make sure that before I decide to connect the TV to the Internet. The current firm where should I stay on it or should I update please? I will definitely love your advice because I don't want to do what I did to my Samsung and updating and losing that peak brightness it had before the update.
Yah I always use DCI or RGB on my A80J it looks a lot better than 709 which is dull, usually vincent and classy tech puts it auto so they get that dull look and they think it’s great, sheesh
I'm late to the party but yeah this is a massive difference on my Bravia 4KUHD TV. One day I hope to get a OLED version of the Bravia. But for now this setting alone makes the 4k TV look OLED. When I first bought the TV it looked beautiful on display BUT NOW oh man. Thanks for the tip. Guys try this out for sure.
I called Sony about 50”. X80k panel VA or IPS, they said .we don’t provide that information.or maybe they don’t even know .do you where can I find that information?
Question sir. I just bought a Sony Bravia xr A90k that’s 48” can I use these settings? I tried to look around if you have calibration for this tv for gaming and movies. Many thanks! Big time fan since the old days
hey quantum i just got this x90j 55 inch i noticed that there's a color space named bt.2020 it seems much more vibrant than dci what do you think quantum should I stick with the dci or bt.2020?
Just watched your video and it’s very interesting.z I gave a Sony a80j 77” tv and would like to get your your settings for this tv. I need to know how can I get the calibration settings from you for my tv. How much will it cost me. I saw some of your reply’s that say it would cost only $5 . How do I go about getting these settings from you . Thanjs nick
Thank you for this help with this issue ... My question has to do with Picture Mode. Do you have a favorite setting for Picture Mode? I'm a New Guy when it comes to this...ty I own Sony XBR - 65 850G.
I recently bought one of these TV's, and its awesome! Maybe someone here can help me out. When I use Vivid mode, I can adjust the motion clarity up/down. When its cranked up, even games like RDR2 run a lot smoother! The only problem is, when the character is moving fast, there is this blur effect around them. How do I fix that without reducing the smoother motion?
I have a Sony A80J and am trying to fine-tune the settings for each HDMI pl8ug in (PS5, Computer, etc), do you have a vid showing YOUR settings for it?
I have the latest Apple TV. Should I be connecting this to HDMI four with 120 Hz 4K? I sadly don’t game. I’m using the arc for my Sonos arc. I’d appreciate any advice.
Good video, however when I try to do these settings on my X90K it shows "Color Space" as disabled for HDMI Input and for any apps that I run from home menu. Is this setting only for PS5 or gaming mode ?
