Enhanced games aims to let athletes compete without drug testing penalties

Athletes are gearing up for the Enhanced Games set for Summer 2025, which will allow athletes to use substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, including steroids. The games will consist of five core sports, and the athletes taking the performance-enhancing drugs will be monitored by doctors and given health screenings.

An interesting idea. It’s dangerous, but if the athletes agree I see no problem with it. Where the normal Olympics show us the limits of human performance, this will show us the limits of medical science in pushing us past those limits.

Some sports already have "tested" and "untested" divisions, ei powerlifting. It makes for great comparisons and with open use, hopefully enhanced athletes will get better doctors to navigate their stack better

I worked with a former Olympic weightlifter who was kicked out of the sport for steroid use. He was candid about the long term, deleterious effect it had on his physical and mental wellbeing. My guess is that the organisers of this circus will have competitors sign watertight disclaimers, largely in anticipation of the wreckage it will produce in years to come. Its a BS idea and would reduce sport to a contest between pharmaceutical companies.

At the beginning, only athletes who are over 30 years old will participate, and then I have a hard time seeing that they will break so many world records at the beginning, because no young athletes want to compete, because they want to compete in the regular Olympics.

Hands down one of the most disappointing and disturbing stories I’ve heard this year. The whole purpose of competitive sports is to watch the marvel of what the human body can do on it’s on with training and great heart. Now even that gets spoiled for the sake of the almighty dollar. Such a sad commentary on current society.

Harus diakui kalau olahraga adalah rasial...
