I would definitely watch it. 🙂 I'm biased though. I have a Win600 that I use almost every day. It's got Batocera on the internal drive. I cloned the stock Windows 10 to a USB SSD using Win2USB. So I use it for mostly emulation under Batocera. But I would be curious about some Windows games that I haven't tried.
@@harleyn3089 You should try Pseudoregalia, Castle on the Coast, Super Sami Roll, Omensight, Poi on the Win600. My Win600 is my dedicated Indie Machine I have over 1500 games in my Steam Library. The Win600 is helping me play though all these games.
Funny that this video releases on the day I bring my Win600 out with me today. I love this thing still and I haven't done any of the hardcore tweaks everyone else does. I play Steam games in windows 'big picture' mode and have a Batocera flash drive. Plus it works with Pico-8's native Windows version!
I got my Win600 almost a year ago, and I've had a lot of fun with old pc games and a few new PC titles, like Forza, or indie games. The upgrades make this machine a solid device.
Same for me. I've had it since 2 months and I'm very happy. I play old PC games. I don't know why I'm reading negative things about this device, which is great.
Running Batocera on mine on a 2TB SSD. Plays a few PS3 games as well and you can also run many PC games in Batocera as well. MK 9 for eg runs well even on higher graphic settings,MK X on low settings runs, but even then some stutters. Killer Instinct 2013 runs well on low graphic settings. But yeah,I love Batocera on mine,I did try Jelos but much prefer Batocera. Only thing Jelos has thats better is that TDP setting option. Dpad gaming is great on the win600,but the switch control sticks arent great and neither is battery life, although thats also true with almost all other x86 64 based handhelds. Btw yeah, you can run a ton of PS2 games, including God of War 1 and 2 with full speed at native res though. And dont forget the pcsx2 emulator in Batocera has fractional upscale options,so if game doesnt upscale to 2x,try 1.75,1.5x or 1.25x. And dont forget, emulation on Arm based handhelds that run android, you wont have options to emulate PC games,Xbox,Wii U or PS3 (although the win600 cant run many ps3 games though),model 2,model 3,naomi 2. (As far as I know) However, if I was in the market for one now Id prob opt for the Loki Zero over the win600,better ergonomics, better control sticks, yeah it has dual channel RAM as well but for the vast majority of emulation this wont bebof benefit as far as I know. Id youre running windows and all PC games then sure, thats different. Also, the m.2 2230 ssd that this uses for a 2TB one they just cost more than a 2TB one the win600 uses (m.2 2242)
Also, for PS2,instead of using the Libretro core of pcsx2 in Batocera try the stand alone pcsx2. You should be able to run ps2 God of War 1 and 2 at full speed at native 1x res.
I do wonder if this is worth it nowadays since it can go for 270$ with a 1TB SSD and 16GBs of RAM. Still, the simple fact 130$ gets you a Steam Deck makes it look not worth it, however, said Steam Deck only comes with 64GBs.
If the price was bellow 250 it would sell like hot cakes. And 200 on promotions? Anbernic wouldnt have production capacity for it. But at 300 for the entry level you can go odin 2, loki or deck and if performance isnt your main priority then the t618 devices might be an option
@retrohandhelds keep in mind that the odin 2 is Android which means there aren't any really practical applications for higher end emulation (bar yuzu which is doing well in Android early stages). But on a x86 handheld you can emulate those higher end systems (not on the win600, but 6800u handhelds have seen steep discounts on onexplayer, ayaneo, and other such handheld manufacturers) to where you can find deals on them that make them comparable to the base steam deck if you want that x86 experience and not steamOS (which i prefer x86)
Im new to these type of handhelds and was really interested in the Windows based handhelds but don't feel comfortable with the tinkering. I still can't get my RG351p right. But i love watching these reviews.
Yeah, I have win600 but had mine since about May I think it was. Was tired of waiting. But if I was in the market for one now I opt for the Loki Zero over the win600… I think
Its impressive for what it is. I think id pay 200 beer tokens though. Have a steam deck so would only us it for emulation. Is there a linux OS for it rather than windows on bootup without the flash drive?
I'm assuming that this is windows based unit. Enabling u to connect to steam and epic. Nice to know. Not crazy about the location of the sticks though. To low on unit.
I have this, use it to play indie and rpgs, but also use it with gamepass. I love it buuuut, the battery will die on you apparently is a general problem and Anbernic doesn't sell replacements. My battery only last a hour or so and charges only to 60%...so my opinion is that if you want a machine like this you can get a loki zero for cheaper or risk the battery issue.
Have you left the charger connected longer even after the led goes white? Its worth trying, so even after it goes white leave it connected for another few hours and then check the battery percentage. Another thing to try is charge it, let it run down to about 10% then make sure its on standby mode for about 3 hours like that, now charge it to full and when the led goes white still leave it connected for another few hours and see if goes to 100%. If that doesnt do anything you could always open it, disconnect the battery, leave it for a minute then reconnect. See if it charges to full then. Ofcourse if all this fails its still possible the battery is just stuffed. And yeah, pretty bad we cant get a battery replacement for it anywhere at all. That defo stinks cause when it does truly fail we cannot replace it meaning it would need to be connected to power outlet to use, not ideal for a portable handheld. Ive had mine for about 6 months or so and I did have that battery issue once but the charging it, run it down to 10% put on standby, then charging it to max and leaving on still for a few hours actually seemed to have worked for me and now charges to 100% again. Having said all that I run Batocera on it from an internal 2TB SSD.
i got one off amazon with giftcard money i won i really hate they only used one ram slot in this :( would have made this much better for gaming with duel channel ram
Hi, a question: can you install games on an external hard drive and start the games directly from the external hard drive? so as not to take up all the console memory? A thousand thanks
There have been rumors of a Win701 for a long time, but nothing concrete so far. But who knows? It's Anbernic. They could stealth release it next month.
It depends on what you are trying to play. The Win600 is a two core 4 thread Ryzen processor. The Odin Pro is an 8 core Snapdragon processor. The Win600 is better at GameCube, Wii, and WiiU. The Odin Pro is better at PS2. The Win600 is better at indie Windows games. (And yes, I do have both of them. I use the Win600 daily and the Odin Pro almost never. I personally don't like Android for gaming, so for me the OS is the biggest difference. If the Odin supported Batocera I would probably use it more.)
@@harleyn3089 Agreed, the Win600 can play and emulate a wider array of games. It can do GameCube, PS2, Wii, Wii U, Xbox, and Mild Nintendo Switch Emulation. Plus if you get sick off Emulation you can always play though your backlog of Indie Games. 😉
If you're reading this, don't waste your money on the win600, they are plagued with battery problems and the company won't sell you a replacement battery unless you purchased directly from their website. Anbernic win600 will eventually crash and after restart, the battery will not charge past 60 percent, we have two win600 units and it happened to both.
@@Lean_Dad I have ordered 3 units, all 3 have done it, first unit arrived already unable to charge past 89 percent, go read the forums, it's not an isolated incident.

@@iamnotyourbuddyGUY If you own both of them and have directly compared them, I am interested about your opinion of the ergonomics. Otherwise, you should actually try them before making recommendations.
@@harleyn3089 no baby buttons or sticks. analog triggers, dual Ram. Not inline dpad and stick and button and sticks. Better screen. A commoner can see all of that.
I personally like Batocera significantly more than JELOS on the Win600. Batocera makes it easy to select Video and Audio outputs, whereas in JELOS it's difficult or nearly impossible. Batocera is also snappier, because it enumerates everything at startup instead of when you click on it. Batocera also has a way better file manager and better access to the individual emulator settings. JELOS is a little bit lighter, and it has easier TDP controls. (You can control TDP in Batocera, but you have to drop to the command line and do some scripting. JELOS has it on the menu.) JELOS is also a little more up to date on certain emulators, but Batocera will catch up on the next release.
