Thanks for the positive outlook! This is a great lifestyle! It all comes down to attitude! Once we stop dwelling on the fact that we’re not at home, and focus on the fact that the entire country is our playground, the more enjoyable this life will be!

Thanks for the shout out brother. You are totally right. I love my home time but I really love being on the road too. Last week I met you and a whole bunch of other great people in the freezing cold Minnesota while doing a reset. Today I am in 60 degree Savannah doing a reset and doing some polishing on the truck because the weather is so beautiful. Last week I drove across the beautiful state of South Dakota for the first time. Even after 22 years on the road I feel like every trip has something else to offer!!

Boy, would I like to sit down and sip a little bourbon or have a couple beers with you and swap stories. My name is Steve and I have been out here on the road driving some sort of truck since 1977 started out with straight trucks and then in 1988 in the spring time I graduated to semi. I've been out here ever since. Like any other job or career out there there's gonna be days that you love your job and there's gonna be days well not so much. But I couldn't work in a factory chain to some machine that be like being in prison. I like being the bosses go to guy. He gives me an assignment and then he's free to move on to whatever is next on his list because he knows I will take care of it and get it done. You're absolutely right it's a lifestyle it's a career. It is a profession. It is not a job. I have been to every state except for Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. I'm from Michigan and run regional nowadays. But I've been to California a number of times above the clouds on Donner Pass. Seen the Bonneville salt flats seen the great Salt Lake. I love the Iowa 80 truckstop. I think that place is just awesome. I love the museum that is there. Been the New York City of few times right downtown Manhattan. I had been up in the World Trade Center and I stood at the base of the new world trade center well eating, some pizza from Steve's pizza place which is right around the corner. To the number of times Baltimore, Virginia Beach. Drove I 75 from Detroit all the way down to Miami I spent a day in Dallas exploring daily Plaza, which I found super interesting! I have been to the crash site of the day the music died. When we lost Buddy Holly, the big bopper. And Ritchie Valens. I've seen beautiful sunrises and I've seen beautiful sunsets. I have seen two wives go, but the third one stuck around. And we have been together 25 years now and raised for boys. I consider myself a lucky man to still be doing this, and still be relatively healthy at 66 years old now. No retirement insight never made enough money for that. Talk to some nice people along the way. Kissed a couple pretty girls along the way. I'm having a great day out here on the road today March 13. Stopped at the waffle House in Franklin Ohio for breakfast. I don't know why but I just like having breakfast at that place. Stopped in Wilshire Ohio along the Ohio Indiana border, and had my first strawberry shake of the season. There's ice cream stand there that has great strawberry shakes and really good burgers and chili dogs. There is also one in Rockford Ohio and I have been going to those two places since 2003 this is a long highway 33. Tonight I will be home in my wife's arms Drinking a beer and sipping a little bourbon with her. It's what you make of it. You have to enjoy this life while you can because before you know it you'll be 66 going how the hell did that happen already? Take care and keep the shiny side up.

I'm kind of wondering how I got this far myself. Everyday is a gift and I try not to forget that. And I love a good bourbon.

Dave, I teuly enjoy your channel and content. If you are ever in upstate NY... I live just north and east of Albany. The scenery is beautiful, there is room to park the truck... although it might be a bit challengeing to back the rig into the driveway... narrow mountain road. But big mouth bass season is incredible, hunting season is incredible. I have a spare bedroom, the homeowner has been told on many an occasion that I should have been a chef instead of paramedic. Its also a beautiful place to sit, relax, enjoy a cold one. I think the only drawback would be a few newfs who would shower you... literally in newfie kisses. Its about 17 miles from Albany. You are more than welcome if you need to come and relax. Thank you for another awesome video. Please always be as safe as possible in all of your travels and adventures. Much live n prayers, Mr. And Mrs. Mayhem🙏💜

Dave, It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. You've always got a great, positive, overall outlook to share and always grounded in reality. And really good, sound, sage advice. THANK YOU! Q: In your opening introduction.......where are the twin tunnels with the grass median? I know I've driven through those tunnels but it's making me nutzy trying to remember where they are. And yes, I always made time for R&R and had some great "adventures". Always had my camera and lenses with me. Have stacks of binders with pictures....... "Keep the Bugs Off your Glass and the Bears Off your Ass." Be good, stay safe. Thanks again.

If I remember correctly, I believe that was West Virginia where those tunnels are. I'll have to go back into my archives and see if I can remember. Things get a little fuzzy for me also when it comes to remembering where I was. I've got a bunch of video that goes back years and I love tunnels and bridges so I always have a lot of excess video of that. I've been looking for my video from the Inner Harbor tunnel in baltimore. That would be cool to see you again

Dave, Thanks big-time for identifying the location of those tunnels, and yes, tunnels and bridges always amaze me. The engineering going into building that infrastructure can boggle the mind.....Again, Thanks!

Do you regret not having children? You should fly to Europe for 5 days. If you do go to 2 or 3 countries in 5-7 days, anymore than that and it becomes too much travel.

I always wanted children but it was just one of those things that never came to be. I would love to go to Europe someday and also go to the middle east. Traveling the world would be phenomenal

I would not mind hearing how you find or know of services in an area. I found out the other day that I could go to an Amazon distribution center (or a locker) to pick up my order at a cheaper price. I have not used Uber, Lyft, or Door dash services, but If I was in a truck I might see if they would work for me. Can you take your truck into a Walmart parking lot and do some shopping? This all kinda reminds me of how it would be working on a ship going from port to port.

I'm very careful about taking my truck into places like walmart. The amount of Confrontation that's happened in certain cities and a lot of trucks getting booted and towed leads me to air on the side of caution. That being said, I do know a bunch of travel centers that are next door to Walmart's and other places to shop. So if I need to pick something up, I can do it. It takes a lot of trial and error but after a while when you start learning where a bunch of things are, you start figuring out where's the best place for you personally going to be. Rideshare Services have really changed the game when it comes to a lot of bigger towns. A lot of times if I know there's a truck stop in the area, and I haven't been there in a while, I will Google Earth the area just to see what's on either side of the road. Sometimes, that's what my parking decision comes down to, what side of the road has the best options for me

I don't know, I've never heard anything really bad about that company and I guess if it's going to fill the need and scratch an itch, and it's something you want to do, I'd say go for it. I get it, it's a hard call because I understand that you're giving up a lot but you're gaining a lot. I've never regretted buying my own truck but I do know that there was a significant period of adjustment.
