I'm definitely a type 3 SX/SP. I always wondered why I didnt look like a "typical" SO type3 and when you explained the subtype SX I was just like yup. yup. me. 😂 Altho I'm a SX and still very much love the spotlight :/
I think this confirmed that I am a 3w4 SO/SX, very interesting! Thank you for these videos, really helpful for someone who is just getting into Enneagram typing.
Yep. Definitely a 3w2 sx lol. Reading about the sx 3 actually helped me figure out my type when I was struggling between 2 and 3. Throw in being a mbti ESFJ and I was super confused until I read about subtypes
Yep, 100% sure I'm a 3w4 SP/SO lol! I've noticed in certain situations that I toggle between the SP and SO instincts but I always come back to the SP instinct; I honestly can't get away from it if I tried lol. My mom is a 3w2, at this point I'm pretty sure her subtypes are SX/SO. I always wondered why we looked so differently as 3s and now it makes sense. 😊 Great video, it was so easy to follow along and gave great highlights to each instinct, thanks!
It sounds like an SX Type 3 could mistype as a Type 2. Especially women who need to lean more into this type when they get married and/or raise children. This could explain why it feels like our types change as we grow up. I bet a lot of moms have mistyped as a Type 2 because the kids need us to direct so much focus on them, or even a Type 9 because we often keep the peace between family members and become the glue bringing everyone together. I've always been more driven to accomplish great things, but after having kids, this focus went into being a great parent, volunteer, spouse, friend, etc (looking like a 2). I feel the most empowered when in my SO, so I think that's my Dominant Trait- that's when I feel the most "me". I love competition and accomplishments through team effort, which is why I continue to coach. This subtype also pulls me more into the fun-loving 7 of my tritype. I have pulled into SP when I don't feel safe to be myself. Then I focus on making a plan to get out of that situation as soon as I can. The blind spot for me is deciphering when I'm in productive SP mode and when I have sunk into depression & anxiety. It looks the same from the outside, but embracing the SP means taking the steps to improve my situation instead of giving up and letting Depression & Anxiety take over.
@@enneagramandcoaching update, i’ve actually retyped as 3w2 so/sp since now. the core motivations of 2 i feel are more alligned with me than the core motivations of 4
Crazy thing!! So I’ve been doing a deep dive into studying the Enneagram and at various points mistyped myself BECAUSE I’m a Self Pres 3 which I now know is the countertype!!!!!🤦🏼♀️
Interesting video and description. I'm a 3w2. I'm pretty sure I'm an SO/SP because I'm really only SP at work. Brands and expensive things used to matter to me, now, not so much. The leader thing, totally accurate. Criticism really hits me hard, even minor criticism. And I'm definitely not an SX, even though I tried when I was younger and just wasn't as "successful" at it. LOL.
Woahhhhhhhh~!!! Thank you for this! Now I get why I look like a two 😂😂😂 It is because I am a type 3w2 with the subtypes Sx/So! Huhu~! Thank you for this ^^ I can get to know myself more and have a foundation for seeing who I am!
Great video, thank you! You're one of my new favorite go to's for enneagram information. I just discovered that I'm a 3 W 4 sp/SX and I mistyped myself as a self pres 1 for the past 2 and some odd years.
It's funny, I have this idea of what a 9 looks like in my head and I was like, you're way too up beat and energetic for a 9. But the 9 goes to 3 in health which is what you look more like. Just like my 8 girlfriend who always looks like a 2.
I am honestly confused... I am definitely a type 3, 3w2, but of these three, none of them really resonate with me completely. I can identify with them all to a certain extent (would probably say I'm SO/SX), but even then, there are aspects you mention that just don't feel right. Is that normal?
So...this video made me realize I'm probably a type 3 SP, and have been confusing it with type 1. I relate to a lot of stuff with the type 1, and I don't look like the typical type 3, but when you described the SP, I was like "yep, that sounds like me." 🤷🏽♀️
@@enneagramandcoaching Do you think you'll ever do an interview video with people who have the different subtypes? I like watching your interview videos, but I'd love to see one with a self-preservation type 3.
That is such a fabulous idea! Truth be told I hadn’t even thought of that. But I definitely am going to look into doing this. Thank you for the amazing idea!
I’m most relating to SX.. be my best is my everything, and SO my second as a 3w4.. it’s so confusing because I have this unrealistic view of my self and play chameleon games so I struggle with who I really am.. I thought I was a 8, but that’s probably wishful thinking because I like their confidence or something. I do struggle with a achievement based system to earn love , which became very real when I have exposed my self lately and it haven’t gone as I planed.. but I maybe got the best insight of life instead
Every test I take puts me with a clear type three but I always kept thinking maybe I am a one but now I’m thinking I am a type 3SP. That really resonates with me
Thanks for the video. Just FYI, the link to the 1hour coaching session is broken. It still leads to the website but it’s got a URL alert instead of the page.
ooh! I’m definitely a 3w2 SX.. and then the other two sound equally like me and not like me haha Thank you!! This was super helpful and easy to understand :)
What if your spouse is 3 (maybe wing 4) but none of the instincts seem to fit? SP is the closest, but there’s no preoccupation with security, etc, but definitely strives to be diligent in work, and is natural at leading but doesn’t want to be the focus of attention, yet commands the room with charisma and wisdom. No regard for keeping up appearances… Does that sound like SP?
I think my best friend is a sexual 3. She's the only one of my friends who insists on the title of 'best friend', when in reality, I love all my friends just as much.
I’m married to a 1, and we have SO much in common- to the point that sometimes I question if I’m a 1. I’m definitely a 3, SP. How does integration play into this? It seems like SP’s already have a lot in common with 6, too.
@@milaalaniva775 I was and I am still so impressed with Hillary’s coaching on the enneagram! I truly was taken aback during that recorded session! She has such wisdom and insight. I am so glad it has been helpful to others!
I really thought I was a 4 self-pres, but I took a test which has 135 questions and the result was 3w2. How can I find out which of the 2 types I really am? When I was younger, in fact, I was more about number 4, but after 30, I relate more with type 3 self-pres.
Hi, Hillary! I thought of a question after we finished our call the other day. What are the differences between a 3w4 sp and an 8w9 so (what we typed me as)? For me, the confusion comes from 4s being the artist/lovers of beauty and 3s the winners so what happens when an 8 loves beautiful things, art and wants to win? Are they not really an 8?
An 8 can totally love beautiful things, art and want to win. Those things aren't fully exclusive to a type. An 8w9 so will just have different motives and reasons for this as opposed to the 3w4 sp.
@@enneagramandcoaching That's what I was thinking but it's very confusing to read all the enneagram stuff and people keep saying 4s are the artistic type and 3s are the efficient type. I know I like both those things but it's not art-for-arts-sake or efficiency-for-goal-crushing. It's more a "let's make things pretty but preferably useful or exactly the way I want it" and "get the thing done so people will leave me alone and I can do what I want" (I see the need for control there)
