I’m a 44 year old truck driver working 16 hour days , 6 days a week , for 25 years, listening to this every night is what keeps me going , his music is a gift from God.
Agreed. The appeal of this cross culturally and socially is evidence of the divine. Hope to hear this in heaven with all my brothers and sisters from every "kindred and tribe". Is there an English translation of The Ascension lyrics?
This music never fails to bring me to tears. I used to watch this movie with my stepdad. He loved me as if I were his own son. I never felt anything else but a loved son by him. He died of a heart attack and is now with his beloved Lord and Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. One day I will see him again and that is my comfort. Till I see you again dad.
Thank you,Morricone.I'm a nurse,i'm workin 12 hours every day against this Corona virus. And Morricone's music help me to feel better after a very hard day in hospital.

Someday someone will recognise Ennio as the complete master. Ennio not only did he write but he arranged and conducted his music. He was the complete master. His legacy and music will live forever.
This man and his contemporaries are the closest we're ever going to get to having truly divinely inspired individuals; to compose like this is to see the face of God
I love this piece! I have PTSD and when I have an anxiety attack, I listen to this sound track. It calms me down. Sometimes, i find myself crying to this piece. ❤❤❤
Michael, you should watch the movie they made this music for…. It’s amazing! Forgiveness, passion, pain, and life. It’s a great movie. It’s called “The Mission” It has Robert Deniro as a lead actor.
@@Yenpao8246 I've seen it so many times. It's one of my favorites. First time I saw it was in the theater and I was a sophomore in highschool. Later that week, I went out and bought the soundtrack on cassette. When I first got an iPhone, that was one of my first music purchases.
These are the words for his wife: “I renew to you the extraordinary love that has held us together, and I am sorry to abandon you. To you the most painful farewell.” This was Morricone. There is no need to say more.
....no need to say more is correct.......such beautiful soulful music should be celebrated throughout this struggling world forever ......and, if people listened to this music.......perhaps they would appreciate the light ....rather than darkness ...❤
Ennio Morricone's score for the movie "The Mission" is as breathtakingly beautiful as the Iguasu Falls featured in the film. Just as God gave us those magnificent falls spanning two countries Argentina and Brazil, God gave us Ennio Morricone, whose musical scores will leave a lasting impression of God's glory.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard, from one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen. ❤😢❤ Too Beautiful for words to be honest.❤❤❤
This is probably the most beautiful movie theme ever written (and the idiots of the so call Academy did not gave him the Oscar. Unbelievable). Rest in peace, GENIUS!😢
Damn injustice. Damn academy awards. Only eyes for Williams. They benefited the local over the foreign and who did not speak English. But we know who is the really genius. Morricone forever. 👍👍👍
Yesterday, Italy lost a national treasure. However, the soul and music of Ennio Morricone lives on adding to the great treasure of music that Italy and Italians have gifted to the world.
Sure. But he’s gone. I think he would have gone on writing wonderful music. He never quit. His son is a very talented composer. Let’s see but there will be only one Ennio Morricone.
_"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."_ -- last line of German Requiem, Brahms
What a feeling he must have had, standing in front of this great orchestra and having his own emotions thrown back at him with such force. Magnifico! Thank you Maestro Morricone for being among us.
I'm disabled and suffer from scoliosis His music keeps me alive. I believe that when I listen this masterpiece I became better man. This song is a bit sad but gives hope and strength for better future 😄😄
Probably this history include a terrible desicion of pope and the economic interes weŕe more stronger that the catholic massage. At the end is one more of terrible desicion of the pope, but I suposse the he know, the money was most importan that these poepole

Italy please accept our deepest condolences on the death of the most brilliant Maestro. Your friends in Ireland. I tuoi amici in Irlanda.
I saw this genius alive in Amsterdam. I bought a ticket for te front row. It was a very expansive ticket, actually more than i could afford back then. It was worth every penny of it and more .People will still adore his music when i am long forgotten....but i saw him alive...on the front row!!
Av spent a fortune watching MANCHESTER UNITED is it worth it A BIG YES and if a had the chance to buy your front seat ticket ofcourse a would bought it well no more than €10,000 thats not on
I lost my son 2 years ago his name is William. He was a musician 👨🎤 this was “our” song; It is about hope, faith, longing, the power of kindness and enduring/eternal love 💕 William I will always love 💕 you to the moon 🌙 and back. Love ❤️ mama ps. May god bring light 💡 into all of our lives. I hope you and ennio are continuing to make beautiful music 🎵 🎼 🎶 together! We will see each other soon!
Grazie.
I suffer from depression and for long time nothing moved my feelings, but every time I listen this and watch the movie it makes me cry, makes me feel alive
Since I am still forced to quarantine here in Kazakhstan, I will watch the movies he made beautiful by his music. I've not seen The Mission or Once Upon A Time in America....will watch again Cinema Paradiso. Can't think of a better way to honor the Maestro than to watch the films that belong to these glorious soundtracks. It was because of Covid that I even knew about "Once Upon A Time in America - Deborah's Theme". There was a haunting FB post of a young man playing the saxophone in Rome above an empty Piazza Navona in March during height of Covid, it was just so beautifully haunting. Someone posted the name of the song, I looked it up and that was my introduction to the Maestro. I did not know he had written music to Cinema Paradiso, one of my favorite soundtracks, having lived in Palermo for 7 years. God speed to heaven.
A standing ovation to the greatest composer of the 20th century. And this, the greatest movie soundtrack of all time. Salute, Maestro. You are now immortal.
... Onori al gran maestro Ennio Morricone !! *** Carlo Treccarichi ---------------------------------------- 🎺🎻🎺🎻🎺🎻🎺🎻
This piece means a lot to me. It was my late mum's favourite and we had a shortened version played at her funeral as my brother and I carried her in to the church. Every time I heard it afterwards I had to turn it off as it was too raw. Now, whenever I listen I feel reconnected to mum and I recall all the good times. Yes, I feel sad, but its usually with a smile on my face. Thank you Ennio - your music transcends time and memory, and I'm forever thankful to you XX
Life goes on, and I am sure that your mum should be pleased that you enjoy together with the world of his music! Sorry for grammatical errors, I am dutch speaking. 😉
Not all geniuses are humble and shy. Ennio didn't even wait for the standing ovation to finish, just a few seconds and he left. Can't even begin to describe what your music always did and will continue to do to me. R.I.P, Maestro. Hope to meet you in a much much better place, isA.
Pure genius. What a talent. Not winning the Oscar put him in a special class. He was too good for the Oscar which is such a tawdry superficial affair. Such a humble man of enormous stature. He did not need a statue to let the universe remember him. We have been so privileged to have been blessed to have music which lives forever. God bless you, Sir.
In this moment, when we are in difficulty, in our worst moment since WW2, when we are crying thousands of fallen, when our economy is stopped, when the EU is collapsing, when we are alone as ever... Hearing this music makes us understand that our country has resources to overcome the crisis on its own We have history, art, beauty and talent that nobody has We will also win this challenge Proud to be Italian ❤❤❤🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Although a Brexit supporter I love the people of Europe and I hope we will all come through this safely soon. You Italians have a lot to be proud off with your art and history. But I also love your great food and wines keep safe
Livio Tempest you can be proud of being Italian. The biggest difficulties are always the beginning of something new. I do not think that Europe (the one of Brussels) is the solution for overcoming these crazy times. Italy will renew with the help of its fundamentals, with self confidence, with the genius and creativity of his engineers, the learnings of its history, elegance of its people, and this beautiful latin culture, cradle of our one's. Kind regards from France,
I am a grandmother of 76 and I, too, listen to this music every night before I go to sleep. One day when I sleep forever I would like this to be played one last time, for me. I love everyone when I hear it.
He wrote so many incredible compositions. There is no doubt - Morricone dedicated his life to Music. His name is key word in Film Music vocabulary. So proud to handshake his hand back in 2013 in Sofia, Bulgaria! Rest in peace Grande MAESTRO! Deep Bow and Endless Respect from Bulgaria! Can not stop tears - WE LOST GIANT MAN!
This genius composed some of the most iconic music in history...music at its finest...what a legacy this man left! Those who did not hear his music miss part of life's beauty!
SUBLIME!!
Right when I woke up, I had the joy of listening to this wonderful song by this composer, who today said goodbye to Earth. Eternally grateful for his immortal and fantastic art. Jack, from Brazil.
Maestro... ❤️
One of the first westerns I saw was a fist full of dynamite one of the lesser watched spaghetti westerns, loved the movie but it was the musical score that stood out. Its a great movie but Ennio lifts it to another level as he does with so many other movies, his music is full of emotion and left a lasting impression on a very young boy, now the boy is a man but still feels the same way every time i hear this incredible music ...bravo Mr Morricone
Grazie Umile Grandioso Maestro.
This music is so pure and beautiful that words seem not enough to describe it. A music of feeling and emotion that will be enjoyed by millions for as long as it is performed.
I saw him live in 2019. His last concerts where he conducted his own music. Myself & everyone around me was in tears. Immense, Incredible, unforgettable. The music of angels. Thank you Maestro, thank you Italy.
I'm Italian listening to this from portugal where I moved before the Corona virus spread. Thinking about Italy, my country, realising how much I miss it. How much I wish I were in Italy next to my mom and my brother to support them. But I'm here I cant take a flight so let's stay strong and I hope all the countries will learn from Italy. Andrà tutto bene !
Thank you Ennio, I work as a tonic maker, i go to my backyard and cut oranges and make 100% liquor… your music gives me wings and hope… pure vitamin C 🌿
My father died today on 10.November 2019. this song will be his last „goodbye-song“ on thursday. Rest In Peace father. We will see us in heaven through Jesus Christ. Amen 🙏
God grant you the serenity To accept the things you cannot change; Courage to change the things you can; And wisdom to know the difference. - Reinhold Niebuhr
This music is for my Beloved Son Kevin who pass away June 27 of this year how beautiful my son is , I’m missing him so much that the world seems so difficult to live on without him I’m hanging on a thin thread to go on ,😭😭😭
Rosario I am so very sorry for your loss. May Kevin rest in total peace 🕊️ Before I go to sleep I will pray for you that The Lord will comfort you and give you peace 🕊️ 🙏
Thank you and God Bless you , my son donated more than 11 organs to help others live and enjoy their lives with families and friends and to fulfill Gods will and purpose for us😭😭😭
A genius is gone, his music moved me in a way nothing else could. A light has gone out, but he will live on through his music. Thank you Ennio Morricone for stirring my soul and using your God-given talent to bring unmeasurable joy to my spirit!!!
Just a thought: I suggest that this is one of the best pieces of evidence of the inherent divinity of human beings. Dio ti benedica, Signor Morricone e grazie!
Grazie Maestro!
He combined Handel's genius for the dramatic entrance with the Bach fugue & counterpoint and Mozartian pure celestial melody. This man stands with the very greatest classical composers.
I'm a metal head, love EDM, pop, jazz, blues, classical, you name it. Been to Bach organ recitals, wow just love it and music is just the best ever. I'm a massive Morricone fan in so many ways but you nailed it, I've never condensed it like that and you described it like in the best way ever and so true. I can't believe how good Morricone is/was. I'm a fan boy 100%.
