Do not quit because of the negative people. I did found your channel because of the cabin, but I stayed because you and your family. I watched the videos while I was caring for my Mother. I was able to escape for a bit and relax. Now I continue to watch for your other projects around your beautiful property. It is satisfying to create beautiful garden areas. My husband and I for years grew giant pumpkins. It was amazing to take care of them and exciting to see them grow (our largest was 800lbs)! Now in that area I am creating a butterfly area. It has been fun to watch the butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds come and go in the garden. Just sharing garden ideas - Im not sure why😂. As another viewer stated, just keep doing what you are doing.

I started watching because of the cabin video, I stay - because of your family focus!!! I love when your girls come on to practice their Bible verses etc. I AM so glad that you do take time to spend with your family. Lately, I have been frustrated with RU-vid because it is NOT showing me things I am subscribed to in my feed, ie like your channel. I realize I have a few that I have missed because of this. Hey Russ, I hear ya and feel your pain. Unfortunately I think that a ton of RU-vid creators are feeling the exact same way you are. I'd even dare say a majority if not a vast majority of creators. I'm just glad that you haven't had the stalkers physically target you and your family like some creators have had. And I am one of those watchers that prefer the cabin videos. And the occasional other videos. But I do that with all channels that I'm subscribed to. And like you said, "Can't please everyone! " But I'll never tell you what you need to do to on your videos. I give suggestions where I think they'll help. But your channel is yours to do what you want to do with it. I just wished everyone was like that. Good luck on what you do! Stay safe! I do understand. I know how much work goes into a project like this. I restore 100 year old cars as a hobby. Sometimes I ask myself just what the Hell I am doing with my life. The truth is if I did not work on cars I would lose my mind. I want to see this cabin finished.

For the algorithm, I was just glad to see you finally got another ladder, instead of moving a 6' ladder in and out. And what took you so long to make this video, it seems every RU-vidr makes a video saying they are thinking of quitting. That's why I could never do this because of the time away from family, that time is lost forever. But seems like you are balancing it pretty well.

I enjoy the Chanel and the diy steps - getting ideas from it. The cabin is interesting, I think it is neat you’re trying to save it. Seeing you de-nail the wood makes me want to tell you to get a de-nail pneumatic tool/gun. I actually today de-nail a lot of 2 x 4's with such a gun. You literally slide the gun over any nail and pull the trigger. The nail usually shoots out of the wood, or nearly out of the wood. Either way a simple claw hammer easily removes the nails with very little effort for the ones that are nearly out. It is called Air Locker AP700. Check it out and makes removing nails a breeze... Thumbs Up!

Please, please don't give up. Get some help with the cabin. Check with the historical society for grants and assistance. I know RU-vidrs don't like other channels listed on their channel, but there is someone who is very qualified to give you advice.

Russ, your videos are awesome! I watch every single one you put out. As an avid channel watcher, I have noticed that the channels that have grown quickly put out more videos per week. Often times they will announce to the viewer that they will be putting out a video a day for the next 30 (or however days) and their channels have grown hugely during that time. Try something that you haven't done yet. However long you want to do it and see if that gets the attention of the algorithm. Just a thought. Ive seen other channels be successful with doing this. Thanks so much for your support! I appreciate the idea of posting more videos to catch the algorithm's attention. Right now, I can only manage two videos a week, but I'm hoping to increase to three soon. It's a lot of work, but I might try it for a while. Just be yourself , talk about what you like, that’s why people are here, yeah the cabin is awesome, but there nothing wrong sharing other parts of your life or talking about stuff you enjoy. Just do what makes you and your family happy and don’t worry about negative comments, there will always be people who just love to cause stress and negativity!

@@thezaytsevs can I add this, please delete it if it is inappropriate. RU-vid is primarily a popularity contest, the more who like you the better off you are. I have a YT channel that serves a far different purpose, I do short sermons for the persecuted church in Burma and elsewhere people download the sermons and share them via smartphones. I only have 50 followers, but it is never about numbers, our times and YT channels are in God's hands. You have graciously invited us into your family to share your journey, which includes a cabin, and it seems there are some who only want a certain part of that journey. Be brave, be who you are, be God's family on YT ... the Bible says in Genesis 1 "In the beginning God ... " that is our starting point in all of life's adventures. If Jesus overflows into your channel so be it, you have no apology to make because that is who you are, and that is who He is. I expect that some people might give you flak over this video, ignore them ... with regards to your channel what is God saying to you. Be a Nike Christian - Just do it! Thank you for including us in your family journey. One last thought, if you feel that you have been bowled over and are flat on your back, open your eyes, there is only one direction you can look, (up) :) I hope you have a great day. David

Are you on Instagram? I think that if you are on other platforms it will help your channel grow. You also just need to catch the algorithm. It will happen but there is a lot of info out there on how to do that. Never give up. Also please don’t just do cabin stuff. We want it all!💪🏼🇺🇸

It doesn't bother me one bit that you mention GOD. I think if more people thought about the LORD more often the world would be a better place. We have lost that. Sometime in the recent past we lost the morality of Christian life but I think that was by design and I would like to expand on that but this is not the venue for that discussion. You know that YT is on the way down the drain. They want more profits, and that only comes by making your experience and our experience worse. It will never improve. So, if the money and stress of YT's broken system are bothering you, then do what you have to do. I think many of us love seeing your work, but we understand that your life matters more than appeasing some faceless corporation's posting expectations. Whatever you do, make sure you don't ever depend on YT.

Russ I appreciate you and your point of view! When I subscribed to your channel originally it was because of the cabin which I have a great interest in, but also I like a small bit of your adventures with family and land maintenance. But with your basic attitude towards comments by viewers I have been very put OFF by your arrogance and attitude!! So after listening to your rant video, realizing you do get a monetary payment for your efforts, but agree you have the control over when how long and content. I feel you have not satisfied my interest with your attitude, nor your aggressive style treating viewers! I have come to the conclusion to UNSUBSCRIBE FROM YOUR CHANNEL. Thank you for what you have posted to present day, but I will find some other channel without a pompous butt head running it!
