Enshrouded: How To Build a Steep Roof

This would work well for the first section of a gambrel roof, but would need a shallow pitch for the top section. (For a barn roof)

Turning off tesselation and voxel details can immensely help with placing the roof btw. I made a starter house with a steep roof and discovering that was a reaotime saver.

I really loved this tutorial. I always hate it in games where the roof slopes ae all the same angle. Now I have a way to create a steeper slant! This will add an entire new level to building. I am wondering if more angles could be created, using the individual block placement trick, by varying the pattern from the 2 up 1 out pattern you demonstrated here. For example, creating an even shallower angle than the standard, by making a pattern that was wider than it is tall. It's something to experiment with! As a side note, to avoid having the trimming sticking through the top of the roof, one can add a second layer of the roof. Most of the existing builds in the game, such as at Woodgard, have a second layer of roof pieces. I believe these are best placed on the inside of the structure. Then, the wall pieces (created by the voxel details) that would otherwise clip through the roof are hidden by the second layer of blocks. This is optional, of course, if one does not mind the little clippings. But, if the individual creator would like a more seamless look and does not mind the bit of extra work involved, the technique is perfect for making rooves more polished.

I thought you would fix up a ruin by now because you can only have 8 flame alters and by the looks of things you've already used 5 of them maybe more just wanted to let you know

Is there an advantage to having a steep roof? Or is it merely a matter of taste/ambiance? Also, maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that the tarred wood roof pieces don't match on both sides.
