This set can be purchased for $30.00 through PayPal (kslinkard@q.com) and all items are sent through email. Be certain you have appropriate software and connection between your computer and ESQ-1. The ESQ-1 stores sounds in banks of 40 patches each. This set comes with two complete banks of patches in the SYSEX format. There's also a special utility bank, a text-file program manual, and several MP3 recordings of the brief demo sequences from the original SQ-80 sets that show a patch in a musical context. Turn on CLOSED CAPTIONS to see the name of each patch as it's played. Since there are no illegal values or hidden waveforms in the two main banks, I'm sure that these should also work with any of the software emulations. But I expect that the extra utility bank would be unpredictable. In case you want some more demos, here are a few of other individual included patches from the original SQ-80 videos:

Thanx. Other than the keyboard, is there anything different from using the "m"?

Brilliant work, as always. You are truly the preeminent sound designer for the Ensoniq ESQ/SQ-80 architecture. If any potential customers are on the fence, JUST BUY THESE SOUNDS. your ESQ can sound as good or better than any digital or analog synth available. Love the buttery authentic sound you are able to coax out of this synth (and your "Pink Floyd" imagery). You are a sonic magician, Mr. Slinkard.

SCIENCE! Love all of it! We still need to finish that ESQ-1 Cartridge project, now that the threats of COVID are a thing of the past I can focus on fun.

I love your moving wave video. The only other way the sounds you presented there could have been created was with wavetable scanning. I wonder if to engineers at Ensoniq knew what they created.

In 1985 there weren't a lot of digital waveform synthesizers with the sync feature, so you might have a point about what was known at that time. Even now there's a lot more to be explored...

I had a sq-80, and the battery would get very warm when playing it and it had midi problems. and eventually, it froze, and you couldn't restart it. The sq-80 turned on but when i pressed a button, it would show this ???? Or random stuff.

If you haven't already, join the SQ-80 mailing list for advice: sq80@lists.buchty.net - And the ESQs are also discussed there.
