My daughter is turning 4 later this year and I opened an investment account for her and I invest in ETFs. Her portfolio is thriving and she’s earning dividends.I contribute R500 every month and hope to increase it next year.

@@keitumetseraselalome5509 ETFs are basically a basket of different companies and instruments( stock, bonds). So instead of buying shares in just one company ( very risky) you buy a fund that has multiple assets in its basket( less risky due to diversification).

The first day of my first Job, my granny called me and said. “That first salary is not for enjoyment, open an account and save it” I had zero understanding of what or why she said that. I was 22 and now I’m 33 and wish I had continued with that mentality of not chopping everything when you get paid. Thank yolz

36 year old here, advice from me, invest early (I don’t mean savings- which are important as well). You can start small but start, and try and avoid unnecessary debt like buying clothes or food on credit. Your older self with thank you for it.

I opened a Tax Free Savings account with one of the big investment firms after giving birth to my daughter. She is 2 and a half right now, and has a accumulated R40k so far. We contribute R1500 with her dad.

Such an informative video. I'll just comment on how some of us were taught that in order to get assets it is ONLY through iskweleti (debt). It's really sad. Mina i want to buy my first car, and no I'm not earning a lot. I've been told a lot of times to just get a loan and buy the car, kodwa hayi I'm scared of loans mina🙈😂 I feel like I can save up for it, but that will take forever because my job demands one to have a car. Eyy kuningi guys. I just want to vent yhuuu! But thanks Sis Yolz for this video. ❤

I am a recent graduate and about to start a new job and I have alot planned regarding my finances but I know I should prioritize saving money,sticking to a strict budget,getting a good credit score and building generational wealth. Hi Yolz, thank you for this. it was fantastic. Well, my financial lessons were from my mom. She always avoided debt by all means. she taught me the rule of "Delayed gratification'', because you don't have it today, doesn't mean you will never have it. and that hard work also pays off. the only thing I am seeing now is the lack of ability to generate money outside the ''office or a 9-5''. Am still learning the ways of generating money in business and how to generate multiple streams of income. thanks a lot for shedding light on the insurance part.

Well, I made sure I have life insurance that's not attached to my employment ndicinga about not wanting my family to suffer when I am with the Lord. To be honest, I dont think I am covered for my future family structure. However , as a single lady I am covered. I know I can still do more, especially around investments.
