Great job Brother we are just learning this and you hit all the right licks makes it easy for me to learn Thank you very much :-) Don't ever stop rockin!!!
@TheDirector1804 the only things that are different about the goth model from the regular model is the colour and there are no dots on the fret board like there are on the one in this video. the fret markings are only on the top of the neck
@Wes1731 i dont have enough energy to look if someone alredy said this, but there is one different which is VERY important tonewise, that is that the goth is made from Mahogny and the standard is made from alder(correct me if im wrong about the wood in the standard and also excuse my spelling) peace(:
i think my favorite part of that bass line is the pre chorus part where it goes: 2-2-2-2-2-0-0-1-2---8-7-- basically the measure before the chorus, the 8 and 7 refers to the 3rd and 2 fret of the 3 string
@kimpax He had an impact on my life, and My grandfather died long ago, I still say Rest in peace for him. Metallica meant alot to me. Cliffs the reason I play bass. I owe it to him.
Sweet man!! I play drums and i'm thinking of getting started with the bass to :p Does the Thunderbird palys good?? 'Caus it couth my eye a wile ago, but I want to make sure it's a good buy =D
very good job! the part "sleep with one eye open" I see you playing the G#, D, after that jump down to your G# octave then D octave. you'll hear it. I like to add it. I think it add a little something, and you don't have that pause. great job.
@TheDirector1804 Actually the standard thunderbird is made of maple wood and the goth thunderbird is mahagony like the gibson standard...so the goth is kinda better at that stage...
@hushmypuppy Iron maiden, Blck sabbath, Early Metallica, Late Metallica. All key metal icons never used a pick in their playing. (by late Metallica i mean with Trujillio)
I hate when people tell me that pickstyle sucks. Both pickstyle and fingerstyle playing are great. It's what suits you best. If you like playing bass with your eyebrows, then go ahead do it :D
Oh, I know. I prefer playing with my fingers and I normally prefer the sound of fingers. I also know that Jason is nothing when compared to Cliff, but I don't think it was because he played with a pick. A good riff with a pick is the same as a good riff with fingers, but if Cliff played with a pick, do you think he'd be as revered as he is today? I doubt it
I play the bass with me fingers because it feels more natural to me and i like the sound better. Nothing wrong ppl playing with a pick. it's a matter of sound and feeling :D
I kind of agree with you, however i do still like to play this song with my fingers, that because i like to be agressive and subtle with my fingers at certain points of this song, progressively strum harder during the beginning, get a good build up then let loose. but yeah, picks are good too ;)
