They would be if they tried recruiting more outside of VA and Florida. I dunno if it's the same way now but in the Beamer days it's like they'd hardly even try getting guys not on the east coast
Idk if they still use it but in MBL the Angels used to use this for their intros all the time, haven’t been to a game in 5 years or so, so idk if they still use it or not but they’re a garbage team every year and not even a top contender.
Honestly... not very. As an athlete I have to say I was never in a position where I felt intimidated etc by fan turnout, or chants etc. Once the whistle blows it's you vs the other guy and thats it. The fan's can't help them on the field, and it's the same guy standing across from you with 10 fans or 10,000. Most of the time with intros/chants etc it was more of a "Ok, let's wrap this up so we can get started" more than anything.
@@goldenTym, but you’ve never played in front of let’s say 90,000-102,455 fans. There’s lots of athletes who say this same thing before a trip to Neyland Stadium, then they say otherwise after the game. Crowds definitely make a difference lol. They even cause false starts, make it hard to hear play calls, audibles , and etc.
This just gave me chills, almost have tears in my eyes!! Epic intro!! I’ll have to make it down to Blacksburg for a night game just to experience this moment!! 🤘🏻
With Death Valley’s crowd (the *real* Death Valley, not that Clemson crap) and AC/DC’s “Hell’s Bells” with a hundred more amps to go with it, I think we’d top this. *GoTigers!* 🐅
As a ohio state fan I have mad respect for vtech they beat us at home one year and we're nothing but class about it and have very passionate fans and they play hard regardless of their record.
They played this twice at a high school football game that I was at and I was the only one that knew the words. It's a shame that people are forgetting this song.
@@arisyn what is special is the fans energy and support for the Hokies. There is a reason it’s on every list of best stadium entrances. Unfortunately we are not top 5 like the golden years. Take a visit for a night game.you will enjoy it. It’s a 3.5 on the Richter scale . I will even supply you with a ticket.
Exactly. Keep in mind 2018 was a beat down too. The only thing people want to say is ND is overrated no matter if they win in an environment like this.
@@bsu-xw1ln ND is overrated, and will always be overrated as long as their strength of schedule is an embarrassment. If they even dared to join the SEC, ND’s cute little ranking they get every year would cease to exist. Permanently. I respect ND. It doesn’t get more prestigious than that. But, it’s 2021. It’s time to put up or shut up and get in a conference….for real. “Independent” my as.
@@kennybeans6115 Lol you’re an LSU fan…that’s cute. What happened the last two times the allegedly overrated Irish played the Tigers? An Irish victory! Good luck with your coaching search! Just make sure your next one doesn’t bring his girlfriends to practice.
@@bsu-xw1ln Oh, wow. Twice the big bad Irish were able to edge out a sloppy win with a measly field goal against two LSU teams whose passing game was virtually non-existent in two worthless bowl games. Though, I see you conveniently forgot about the 2006 Sugar Bowl when both teams were high powered and relevant in the country, only for the Tigers to put on a clinic and roll the Irish to a 41-14 blowout. Brady Quinn (and the Irish defense) might’ve as well got back on the bus at halftime.
@@kennybeans6115 If the bowl games are meaningless why even play them? Speaking of the 2006 team and being overrated, how did Jamarcus Russell’s (#1 NFL draft bust of all time) career work out? Since we’re going back 15 years we might as well look at the overall series record between the kitty cats and Irish. ND leads the all time series, not surprisingly. Not too shabby for an overrated team! Go Irish!
Man I’ll never forget my first tech game in person lane stadium lights up I remember that night and I remember the night of this game. We may not be the best but who cares they can measure this on the rictor scale the jumping is so intense
@@crypt_yt9328 You must be a zoomer. VT is home to not just the most deadliest school shooting in American collegiate history, but it holds the top *two* spots. Pretty fukt up, huh? It appears you and the op already forgot or didn’t know about those two massacres. And when these happened, school shootings were still a very big deal and relatively rare. Each incident involved a lone gunman psycho who did some real damage. Look it up.
I go to William Paterson University in NJ, whenever a song like this comes on everyone boos, but when a rap song comes on, they all jump, this school does it right
I've been to premier league and Bundesliga matches, but none have compared to college football atmospheres. Hard to show in a video from the nosebleeds. It's a whole different experience.
@@peet4921 I mean, that's my point. It's apples and oranges and impossible to compare (as we've established) as the bar for what "passion" and "fun" are completely different. I think the way we appreciate and experience things has many factors that all come down to an individual person. Like, you could take someone that's never been a football (⚽) fan to the loudest, rowdiest ultra in Europe, and it wouldn't hit for them like traditions that have been ingrained in them for multiple generations at a college football game, and vice versa. I'm thankful I've gotten to experience both, thanks to having an equally passionate sports-loving family on both sides of the Atlantic, and anyone who tells themselves one is superior to the other is just kidding themselves and missing out.
@@peet4921 But also... since we're under this particular video, this in no way encapsulates college football fans and traditions, it's just a regular game entrance that is fun to experience. People are reading way too into this as if it's representative of all college football programs and their traditions (which predate NFL and most professional football leagues around the world.)
@@yezhz3379 "absolutely crushed" 32 - 29?🤔 That's barely sliding by!! 😄 a field goal with 20 seconds left... watch out for these guys!!🙄 Let's see them play a ranked team, like Georgia or Bama!
This Hokie can’t disagree with you but I will be there cheering my Hokies on with all my being anyway, I never doubt my Hokies ability to pull a upset. Good luck ND fan hope it’s a good game.
