its sooooo weird not hearing, "There was a house in a field on the side of a cliff and the waves crashing below were just said to be a myth" during the intro!
you have no idea how excited i was on that night when i heard they were playing a remix of common dreads:') this and carol of the bells are the best introductions to any live set i've ever seen
Interviewed Rory and Chris a while back for Warwick Student Radio and imo Rory seriously has to go down as one of the finest guitarists of his generation!
Just when I thought they couldn't get better they FUCKING improved their vocals, stage presence and crowd bond. Days ago I would've thought that as impossible.
i was there and it was fucking amazing, loweing the end of the libertines definitely payed off, this was just too good. I love how the play the entire common dreads opening as well
It's awesome how they took this intro and used it as the opening to A Flash Flood of Colour. Honestly, the only thing I would do to that album is to take the outro of this performance and put it somewhere in the album too.
this was the best performance i've ever seen, other than maybe their hatfield show. it wont be the same at reading this time on the main stage but i can't wait:D
@Tobensdude It is amazing live isnt it! Im loving the beat over the intro too. I love how Shikari adapt and change their songs. Just that little tweek and it makes it even better.
@JoeeShep96 Zeitgeist + The Venus Project + Enter Shikari + a bunch of assorted books/movies (Ishmael, The Story of B, strangely enough Capitalism: A Love Story, etc.) have made more of an impact on my life than probably everything else I've experienced combined.
i was gonna say rory c was a beast... but then i realised so is batty c... and rou... and of course rob is a beast and a half. they're all just legendary, and when i met them, they were all really safe
This band has evolved so much over the years, I thought they were amazing now but they keep getting better and better, the new album is going to be fucking mental.
I was there! About 10 people back from teh front and im gonna be there this year too! Shame theyre not still in teh NME tent, teh atmosphere is much better in there
@lucyandnyuuatonce I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you mean, but I wasn't trying to say my beliefs were the exact same as those of Enter Shikari (as a whole). Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was simply saying that Enter Shikari (and all of those things I listed for that matter) helped me to start thinking beyond the social norm and beyond what is accepted by the general public in most cases.
If you listen to the start and finish of all three albums, they all lead into eachother. They were written like that so you can listen to them in order and it flows really well.
@humblelaurie There will be a third album, spoke to Rou about it, although not sure what it's gonna be like. All I know is Destabalise won't be on it (sorta like WCBIS) and it's slated for like mid-2011. Hopefully it's a mixture of TTTS and Common Dreads instead of exactly like one or the other.
You must play a headline show at Newcastle sometime please! I'm already seeing you guys with 30stm in november and i saw you guys at evolution and last october at the o2 academy!
system wasn't written 2 years before AFFOC the intro is just the same as the outro of common dreads or intro of solidarity (i seriously cant remember which it is )
@lucyandnyuuatonce Ah no no, I re-wrote that a bunch of times trying not to sound offended, but it was hard without having an actual tone to my voice ha. But I know, that is a valid point.
it's the intro for common dreads- you can find a recorded version of this by searching "ENTER SHIKARI AUDIO VISUAL INTRO" on youtube- there you'll find a pretty dank vid with the cool strings :)
