I share thoughts on the new Warner Brothers 4K release of Enter the Dragon, the 1973 film directed by Robert Clouse starring Bruce Lee. Enter the Dragon is largely considered Lee's best film and the film that cemented Lee as an international martial arts superstar. Let me know what you think of this film. Enjoy!

Great review! The colors pop on the 4k disc especially Han's outfit at the banquet with the rich black, vibrant red, and gleaming gold. The Schifrin score and the overall sound was more detailed with deeper bass, and more impact. Well worth the upgrade despite the lack of special features and added bluray disc.

Great review, can’t wait to watch it in 4k. I picked it up from Amazon popped it in and the image looked like a Polaroid photo that’s not finished developing. Amazon is sending me another one. So i watch it when it arrives.

At the very least they should have included the previous blu ray release with added special features. I'm glad they put so much effort into the excellent upgrade, but this is the 50th anniversary of the release of what most would consider the most important martial arts film and maybe action film of all time. Give people more information on it. Nice review!

Great review ! I enjoyed all your comments about the music and the cast. I've loved this movie ever since my Dad let me stay up late to watch it on a school night, it totally blew me away and I've owned it on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray previously...but this 4K is definitely a very nice upgrade both in terms of picture and sound 🙂In the UK this 4K edition came with an accompanying Blu-ray which has loads of special features on it...I think it's the same one included with the Golden Harvest set so you already have it but it's a shame that others buying this single release probably wont.

@@20thand21stMovies I'm very happy with this 4K as well and I feel it's a big upgrade on the Blu-ray I had but one thing that's worth knowing (pointed out by "Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader") is that the bitrate on most of the transfer is nowhere near as high as it could be...meaning the picture quality could likely have been improved even more. The reason for the "low" bitrate (again, apparently) is that they opted to encode both versions of the movie (Theatrical/Special Edition) in full...rather than use "seamless branching". Potentially they could have almost doubled the bitrate which even accounting for massively diminishing returns on a 102mins movie would have improved the transfer even more. If WB had allowed Arrow the rights to make the 4K then I'm sure it would have been even better ! I'm very happy with this 4K...but if WB (now that they've made their money from the 4K release) decide to release the rights to Arrow and Arrow then do a 4K in line with their individual releases of the other Bruce movies (GREAT 4K transfers, extras, artwork, slips, booklets) then I know I'll feel compelled to buy yet another version of this great movie ! 🤣😂😱

If you're a Bruce Lee fan and want the best presentation of Enter the Dragon, definitely worth picking up.

@@20thand21stMovies I'm a fan of Jim Kelly, John Saxxon, and Bruce Lee. I have the Bruce Lee pack from Criterion. And it's great. But, having ETD in 4k, is totally worth a second purchasr.

I love Bruce Lee’s films and have grown up watching all of them. But I don’t think ENTER THE DRAGON, has aged very well. The costumes and dialogue seem very dated now. But the action scenes are fun. Did you know that martial arts legend JACKIE CHAN is also in this?? He has a quick fight scene 🎬 with Bruce! Blink and you’ll miss it! My favorite Bruce Lee film has to be FISTS OF FURY. I’m still upset I missed out on the 4K box 📦

Hello there! Enter the Dragon is so much fun to watch even if some aspects are a little dated. To your point, those fight scenes are cool. Yes, Jackie Chan is in this film briefly. I like Fist of Fury as well. Another good film starring Lee.

If I have the Bruce Lee Criterion collection, would you say it’s worth picking up?

Good question. I would say it depends on the individual. If you are happy with the picture quality of the Enter the Dragon blu-ray in the Criterion Bruce Lee set, than I would say the Enter the Dragon 4K is not an essential upgrade, especially considering you are not getting any new on disc special features. If you are someone that is a huge fan of Bruce Lee and his films and love Enter the Dragon and want it with the best picture quality available and the Dolby Atmos audio, then I would pick up the 4K.

The cantonese language version of ETD script is better than the international print, as Lee helped co-wrote the asian release.

I just purchased the steelbook at best but on Fri it wasn't even on the shelf on release date on Tues then I went on Friday to put an extended warranty on a printer I had purchased on tues and I asked if they had this and showed him on my cell and he called a guy in the back and he then told him on the phone that it was behind him on the counter behind him I guess when it's a special release they sent even pit it in the new release section u actually I guess need to ask for it so they can scan it and then see if they have when it should've been in the new release area on Tues.I also had purchased the 4k brucellosis lee arrow box the yellow one which I got almost 3 weeks ago that is great bit only has the 40th bkue ray of Enter the dragon but u must save all ur older d ds and blue rays for all the special features that aren't available on this 4k 50th edition which I bought the steelbook of but picture quality is great but not that much better than the blue ray but blacks and sharpness better with hdr.
