The most dangerous place in Central America. The Darien jungle. The motorcycle journey continues as we take on the beginning of entering into the Darien province of Panama. In this episode we run into the Panamanian Sena Front and have quite an interesting conversation.
The roads are scenic and beautiful and at the end of this episode I have an unexpected encounter with a guy named Majel.

This was a good one. Especially liked the police caught on camera. Suspenseful music.at the end has me hanging off a cliff. I also place my bet on your vent tubes hanging down too low.

Im with you on the fast open desert riding. It's the best. it gets your blood pumping. If you crash you'll feel it. If you drop your bike from a root on single track, big deal, you pick your bike up and keep going. Thanks for all the videos Landon.

Yeahh that’s the only issue, normally with the fast desert stuff you gotta be a lot more mindful of falling. However in Idaho single track some spots are high exposure so they can be dangerous as well or going through a rock garden and falling wrong can be tricky. However I do get what you’re saying, to me as well the adrenaline is so much thicker with speed. You’re welcome and thanks for your input and commenting! 👍👍

Thanks! Yeahh people keep saying that, but I just feel like these people are nice and good. I find it hard to believe that anyone else would have been treated any different. Unless they just showed up super disrespectfully.

@@LandonBishoff A lot of people don't know how to properly deal with people, be they good or bad. It's not just that you treated them well, you know how to speak to them so that it puts them at ease. That's a skill.

Try some dielectric grease in your spark plug boot. Will keep the water out which is likely causing your spark to arc to the engine case. Keep it off the metal contacts tho. Finding it in Panama might be a challenge tho!

Very cool road, beautiful scenery! Kinda reminds me of a logging road in a lot of ways. I'm a little surprised to see sidewalks in such remote places. I don't know why that just didn't expect it. Lol Enjoy your adventures, because I know i do!

Yeah the sidewalk thing to me was so funny! Normally I’d think you’d invest in a road first. But I mean it makes sense to put it in if that will serve the most people.

@LandonBishoff mind you I was in Bequia several years ago and some roads were paved, with no sidewalks, and some roads were dirt/gravel with paved sidewalks ( where I didn't expect any pavement at the tiime).So I guess you're right about areas depending on what the locals need. Just kind of a funny thing to notice when traveling.

Yeah, it’s totally interesting. But it makes sense as well because most people out here don’t have vehicles and so the sidewalks actually are a lot more helpful to the majority of people, especially during the rainy season.

Is the water issue because of your exhaust being so low? Is it something where you could add a pipe going upwards to keep water out? You ought to RU-vid it. lol. Everyone still so nice. Prayers for your safety Landon. Stay safe and God Bless.

No the water issue is water splashing up and getting near my spark plug. The water can create a path so spark arc’s to the case instead of making it’s way into the cylinder. It’s not a crazy big issue mostly annoying. The thing to do is make sure the rubber spark plug boot is seated good and sealing off the water better

Wow! Pretty smooth ride on dirt this time. looks like a lotta fun, flying like the wind! Was the whistling at the store with those guys, kinda a way of telling yourself " be cool Landon" ha ha! you always impress me on how you handle anything that comes your way! How tall are you? Seems most everybody looks short next to you. You've met some awesome good folks on your travels. I think your sweet spirit conveys alot on how folks react to you also. Yeah the whistling was definitely intentional. It’s a way I can just let them know I’m in intimidated by them. Also putting my back to them, it’s not something I would always do, but here talking to the guy while my back is to him is just another little subconscious tick that I’m not doing anything wrong and therefore I’m not worried about you. These guys were great though. Had fun talking to them.. the total conversation with them was 45mins so I cut a lot out. But you always have to be careful with these guys because they could easily change my day for worse if they wanted to. They could just say nope it’s too dangerous for you here go back the way came kinda thing so I always try and get on their good side. I’m 6ft Latin America and especially southern Mexico are normally quite shorter people. I appreciate the kind words and the comments Becky! Hope this finds you well!

There's something wrong with that bike for sure. I have done some pretty deep water crossings on my ktm and it has never died on me. Maybe try taking apart all your connectors and adding some dielectric grease? Could be a bad coil too. If it has a crack it wouldn't take much water to short it out.

Yeahh I think you’re right! Gonna have to look at it closer. It hasn’t bothered me enough to get crazy on it, but that is definitely a lazy approach to it. Gonna have to look at it!

Gracias senior Granados! Si algunas personas me recomendaron poner un poquito de grasa eléctrico por allí también para evitar el contacto del agua. No en la connection pero por el alredor.

Landon- you need to route your vent hoses up high into the frame or airbox. Drowning out is common until you do that. I have owned dirt bikes forever. First thing I do. My bikes are submarines or until water floods the silencer or air filter.

Okay. On my bike I’m pretty sure the only breather vent besides the air intake is a small breather hole in the air box as well. Are you saying re route that breather hole even higher?

@@LandonBishoff look under your bike near swingarm pivot. There typically is a few drain hoses , also your crankcase breather may be low as well. Easy way to rsise the vents is go and trace them up to a convenient spot and use a T fitting and some hose of same size. Route that added hose under seat or even all the way to steering head.

I reroute the crankcase vent into top of airbox as well. Always
