Excellent analysis :) Understanding: 1. The value chain of Lithium Ion battery cell 2. The approach and investment of both key players towards new battery technology 3. Both players made adjustment to improve the corporate governance ( Exide gets exit from insurance business and Related business of Amaron promoter getting merged with listed entity) 4. Few factors might be affecting the dented valuation of Aamara raja battery. (1. Lead price 2. Unclear approach for new age technology) 5. key risks for both the players

I have spent quite a considerable period of time with Exide Industries and as a competitor we used keep/have information's on Amaron as well...we found that most of your comments are well compiled and articulated both on Market,scenerio,Technical comparisons and Company financials front and the SWOT analysis in particular also your comments on future market trend analysis is absolutely superb considering the current EV market scenario. As you rightly indicated that we need to keep a close watch on the EV Battery captive manufactures like Tata etc. and the new entrants but one thing for sure both Exide and Amaron being in the Indian Automobile industry for decades together will have a definitive advantage of the Customer usage pattern and need of the unique India market...Once again Thanks for your nice insights...keep going strong!!

Conclusion:- it would be too early to understand who will be the better bet excide or amara raja. Brands like OLA and TATA looking for own setups Many more companies will start their captive productions Proxy playa will be safe bet in this case ✌️

Thanks for sharing. Amara Raja has land issues in Andhra Pradesh and people complain about pollution. After following their conf. calls, they still think fuel vehicles co exist and the need for Li ion batteries is not a priority now - they want to wait and watch before proceeding.

LFP is safe due to low energy density good for stationary application where weight is not a constraint but actually it costs more due to more material per Wh. China is phasing out LFP and dumping to India as you can not go beyond 150wh/kg .NMC is having high energy density upto 300wh/kg a bit less safe . But more economical due to less material per Wh . For moving applications NMC has less kurb weight and better efficiency for vehicle .

Why no one is talking about Reliance here, Reliance has the upper hand in ev battery research and development. They have both lithium and sodium ion technology. My bet is on reliance on this Ambri in the US, Faradion in the UK, and Lithium Werks in the Netherlands are among Reliance’s partners in the energy storage industry, Reliance is expanding its footprints in sodium-ion batteries through Faradion, and in LFP batteries through Lithium Werks

Nice explanation. Can you also make a video on future fuels will be like.. i do not think electric vehicle is the future unless full charging happens in 10-15 min. Also, ethanol and bio fuels are emerging as a new fuel. Green Hydrogen is also there.. So, if you could make a video on this then would be nice to make an investment accordingly..

Well complied and interesting video. Just one small comment: GWh should be GWhours and not GWperhour as has been referred to in the video. The graphics used in the video for Li Ion batteries appeared under the "BigRead" section of Financial Times a few days back.

2 key points missing 1. Who is expecting to refine lithium after extraction Reliance and Rajesh exports are basically refining companies and their interest could be refining business and not assy business But with govt PLI schedule they want to enter so that they may secure the potential opportunities to become refiners 2. Nothing is discussed on cathode manufacturing plan NMC or LFP cathode should be made by Indian company only Anode is ok because India has surplus graphite

OEMs will use either Exide or Amararaja batteries but all the vehicles will use electricity to charge it. Electricity consumption is going to increase yoy. Then why should we not do analysis on electricity sector?
