ENTITLED PARENTS Asked To Leave Hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii - Sunday SofaTime 

So tired of people saying "it's vacay" as an excuse for being rude and inconsiderate.

That family is like the people who talk and laugh in very loud (usually drunk) voices in the hallways at 3am in hotels. They dont care and the world revolves around them.

You can enjoy yourself on vacation without being loud and obnoxious. Unfortunately too many people nowadays think they can do whatever they want wherever and whenever they want.

I’m very sick of people people thinking their “rights” trumps other people’s “rights “. That family was rude, crude and obnoxious. Unfortunately, they are raising their kids to be the same way.

Amazes me that he had to explain any of this. The family sounds atrocious.

All those who left negative comments are the same ones who don’t have manners to begin with. But I’m also sure they also are the same ones who complain if something bothers them.

I agree Morgan. Everyone is entitled to a great vacation but they need to be respectful of others

I turned 68 in May. And, if I may say so myself, I have NOT aged well. But I digress. In those 68 years I have watched (with PROFOUND sadness) the decline of kindness, consideration, concern, and politeness toward others. I have seen selfishness and self-absorption rise to become the norm. It has been a hard watch. I have no answer or cure so what Drew (my husband) and I do is always, in every situation be everything that is right and kind and good. Sometimes we fail, but mostly we succeed. It makes our little corners of the world better.

These are the same people who would want to sue the hotel if something happened to their kids (because the hotel had a specific rule that the pool didn't open until 9 am, which may be because they didn't have a lifeguard on duty). Obviously, the hotel had the rule there for a reason. And to do all that at 8am? UNACCEPTABLE! And the cursing? I don't want to listen to it, especially around children. But don't worry about it, Morgan. Maybe, the grown-ups will learn their lesson after those kids use that same language on THEM.

I've chaperoned trips with students from the states to Europe and one huge lesson we make UNCOMPROMISINGLY CLEAR is that we are GUESTS at our hotels. We have not paid to cause issues for ANYONE. I cannot fathom making that much noise that early in the day. For anyone who thinks this is acceptable, I hope you've enjoyed getting kicked out of beautiful hotels. Everyone pays to stay. No one pays for the freedom to mess with others vacations.

The last thing I want on vacation is to have loud obnoxious people wake me up before I want to wake up. I agree with you Morgan, that group was in the wrong. It was their own actions that got them kicked out. I love that impression😂 of the desk lady. Lol

The family and the negative commenters are good examples of the "me" generation thinking. I can do whatever I want no matter how it impacts others. I have already stopped going to movie theaters much due to people who can't be considerate to others. And I see travel getting worse and worse. I completely agree with you and I have since your first video about this group. All the people who accused you of being a Karen keep saying it's their vacation so they should do whatever they want. Well it's your vacation too! You should have the right to sleep in and not hear people screaming at the top of their lungs at 8 in the morning. It's a hotel (where people pay to sleep) not a theme park or a bar. Those people just have no class and they're obviously passing that trait on to the next generation.

I absolutely completely agree with you Morgan. That family was terribly rude to the guests in the rooms around the pool. And I’m sure many people were hoping to sleep in with wonderful quiet, which obviously couldn’t happen with that obnoxious family’s terribly loud noise. So disgusting. Too bad the pool wasn’t locked since it wasn’t open yet.

Went to Whistler Four Seasons a few years ago. The kids were loud, rude, entitled, spoiled, bossy and thought they owned all the hotel amenities. Disgusting that parents are raising monsters like this.

You are right. The negative commenters are wrong, and cruel. You are a nice person. They would never (I hope) say such things to you in person. Civility is hard to find these days, as many only think of themselves. I strongly agreed with you when I saw the previous video. Keep being you, I love your videos!

I am in 100% agreement with you regarding the loud family. This is an intimate hotel. They obviously have no respect for other people. They are welcome to enjoy the pool area but YOU have the right to enjoy the resort without being impacted by loud, rude behavior...especially before 9am. And I also would have contacted the front desk.

I’m always surprised to hear people cussing around kids nowadays. Maybe I grew up sheltered, but people didn’t cuss around kids when I was growing up, and I didn’t let people cuss around my kids.

I tend to agree with you, Morgan. I don't care if people swim in the pool in the off hours, just let them be quiet and not disturb anyone else. It's common sense.

Spot on brother! Completely agree with you. Very different context in a small intimate hotel where everyone’s rooms are right on top of the pool space, from a giant resort pool complex.

I didn't comment on the original video, but I will now. I am so sick and tired of people who think the rules don't apply to them. So inconsiderate There so many entitled people around. And they are teaching their children the wrong way to act. I am 66 and I have felt this way since I was a kid. Sorry, not sorry.

The fact that the adults were louder than the kids speaks volumes (pun very much intended). It is the absolute disregard, and intentional obnoxiousness that gets me. Because as you say: if they had considered their surroundings, there wouldn't have been a peep out of anyone else. Any action taken against them they brought on themselves! I would have been phoning down to the front desk, without a question. And yes, got an advert: Best Western.

Why is always big groups like that who have to take over and act like they own the hotel. Cheer groups at Disney are another similar group that I've experienced similar behavior. I look on every cheerleading contest website to see their dates and if they will be at Disney before I book a trip. I'm with you, Morgan. Follow the rules and be respectful of other guest.

You are correct about this. The people ridiculing you are probably the problem also. I left a zoo a few days ago because of loud rampaging children. You can have fun and not make everyone around you miserable.

There has been a huge decrease in the most basic manners the past few years. Obnoxious behavior, loud cursing, and just general disregard to anyone and everyone around them. It is sad. So many people seem to revel in their trash behavior. I agree with you 100%

To the commenter who said "Close the window!" When we stayed in Maui, the hotel had open screened transoms above the windows and door which let all sound into the room I even heard the surf pounding on the beach 24/7.

As someone who has kids , I wouldn’t let them make loads of noise in the pool at 8 am , let alone do it myself . Have I ever sworn in front of my children when they were small ? Yes I have but more of a slip up and not like these people . I’m with you on this one Morgan . It’s just bad manners and thoughtless .

It sad how guests sometimes have no consideration towards others. Then teach their kids to do the same

I had that happen with noisy people walking through hallways on cruise ships and hotels. I crack my door open and yell “shut the F up!!!” It works.

This family showed It has a lack of respect. When traveling with my children playing loudly was only after 9am. They learned to respect others

I agree with you Morgan. This is not their house. Rude, loud and obnoxious behavior is not acceptable. Glad folks complained to the front desk area because that is the only way the situation would be rectified. As for other people saying you were being a Karen/ whelp you pay money to be able to enjoy yourself but not at the expense of someone else at a hotel, at a restaurant, at a movie.

I'm in agreement with you. You go on vacation for you as well to enjoy. You don't do things to disturb others. Everybody is so entitled these days without regard to others.

i fully agree with you. I've a feeling that this particular family acted this way the entire vacation as they feel they are entitled to. Unfortunately these kids that they are parents to will most likely continue this behavior as they grow up. And no, you should not just shut your door and ignore this behavior. I love following you. I agree with you! Was in the Yacht Club at Disney and there was this family at 7:00 so loud screaming and shouting kids every morning. When I asked to tone it down in the hallway cause we were still sleeping I got big mouth from the dad that it wasn't his problem. On club level never had this problem though.

You were totally in the right feeling the way you did. Your explanation on how they should have acted was spot on. It should be about being courteous to others and setting a good example. Clearly that family did neither.

I think you did the absolute right thing by complaining about the noise. The problem today is people are all like oh I can’t complain. I can’t do anything about it, but if people don’t complain, then these kind of people just keep getting away with this poor bad behavior that affects other peoples fun.

No, you ARE right, forget about those aww you’re a karen people, they are the ones raised without manners and are the losers. This is why we never get rooms ner a pool.They were waaaaay to loud at that time and the curing is for dumb people only. The staff should have immediately have kicked them out. pools should not be anywhere near the rooms when the staff cant control it. The cowardly staff/she should not have brought you along and should be fired for it, they should have went themselves or quit the job if they cant do their jobs.

I agree with you. When you book a place like that, you're SHARING space with other people. Inconsiderate behavior shouldn't be tolerated.

Hi Local from Hawaii. First of all Hotels has rules. Second the Wakiki beach is a block away. 3rdly this is main charater syndrome, there is other people that is on vacation as well. And I'm for damn sure not all of them wants to be waken up so early in the morning. Forth part of the reason why us locals doesn't like most of the Tourists from the mainland (it's what we call you guys, that or Haoles) is because of the lack of respect. The respect for others That is also on vacation, the respect to locals that actually is from here and the respect to the land. And yes while there is a lot of mainland people who deal show respect and are good people and they are the type of people we welcome. There is still the rest of you who are not welcomed. Aloha is extended so far we are not obligated to show you Aloha if you don't show any back. Now us locals are pretty fuking chill. But bring that mainland attitude down to our islands you may experience first hand how unchill we can be. Lol Do yourself and everyone else a favor and show respect. Fact is respect is earned. Peiple is on vacation think they also have a right to enjoy their vacation as well. No act or you'll get slaps lol

I totally agree. Too loud for the time of morning. Just because you are on vacay does not mean be rudeness is tolerated.

I was just in Honolulu and fussed at housekeeping waking me up by being loud at 7:30am. They also knocked to clean the room at 8am daily.

It's one thing to use the pool before/after hoirs. It's another to plop yourself in there and scream/laugh as loudly as possible in a spot that very obviously echoes off every room in the place. I have horrible insomnia- even on vacation. And guess what? When I'm up at 3 am and the rest of the hotel is asleep, I slip in and out as quietly as possible to go out and smoke or walk or just sit outside.

Morgan kids cant play in a pool quietly. So loud and rude! Our parents always said," its too early too early, and you just ate breakfast, let it digest"!

Your stay would have been horrible at 9am vs 8am with these guests. You never know who will be a guest in the hotel. This is why I avoid a pool facing room. You have the right to mention to hotel that this is an issue. Understand kids will be kids. I had a similar experience on a cruise ship recently. The guests next door were loud and wanted to party like it was 1999. Well each day they wore themselves down to were the last day or two it was pleasant.

I would have reacted the same as you. I don’t care what others do but when it disturbs others then reporting it is fair game!

As much as I would like overlooking a pool I now ask for a room far away from the pool. It’s great that families want to have loud fun but I just don’t want to hear it all of the time. We took the city bus to and from Pearl Harbor, too. Going there was a mess, partially because some buses didn’t show up AND we made the mistake of not staying at the bus stop we were at to walk to the next one (why?) which was far away! The bus we took was packed but everyone was Hang Loose on the bus.

What I used to do in this situation arised it's just discreetly yell out my door shut up!!! . They couldn't actually see me saying shut up, it was just a voice coming from nowhere... Usually shut people up doing that.

If you had been a Karen, you would have gone down there entitled, demanding, and been obnoxious about it. Ironic that some of your critics did just that.

These are the same people who would complain about late night noise keeping their kids awake.

Morgan, love your videos and comments but you no longer live in the free USA. The rules only apply to certain people - not everyone. This is a microcosm of life in the US inn2024. Many people are rude, angry and absolutely oblivious to any social rules that may involve concern for other people around them. Go eff yourself is the standard reply to an ask of quiet. Or “you should go somewhere else”. No negotiation or recognition of any responsibility . It’s sad but many people are just out for themselves and eff anybody who tries to stop them. I’m with you. Totally feel your pain 100%! People are a reflection of their comments. Those who didn't think it was a problem are also more likely to be inconsiderate of others. There are many people who have traveled from different time zones, so late sleeping and acclimating to current time is important. Morgan, you've been away from the US awhile. People in Germany and other European countries are more conservative and considerate of others. Sadly, this is becoming rare in swaths of the US. And when people go to Hawaii, especially Waikiki, some.lpse all sense of decorum. I wish parents would model better behavior, one that I'd not self centered and self serving.
