These days working royals Anne, Edward, Sophie, Kents and Glocesters don't receive armed protection 24/7. They receive it only when on official duties. If there is security for personal stuff a single unarmed officer is accompanying them. They live in royal estates so they don't have that worry about having to hire additional protection.

As an American, I feel the need to chime in about Harry being in more danger in the U.S. It's probably true, but what wasn't mentioned is that Margaret had an attempted kidnapping in which several ppl were shot, or when Queen Elizabeth was shot at while on her horse, or when QE woke up to a man in her bedroom, and I imagine several other attempts have been made over the years that we don't know about. All that said, I feel exactly as this gentleman does. What is good enough for presidents of other countries when visiting should be good enough for Harry. Also, I and most of America are embarrassed of Meghan.
