I actually recommend getting this ending first before the other one because you can just start a new game in the final chapter and the game automatically assumes you drank all the water from before. This one you have to at least start a new game at the reinforcements chapter, as that's when you get the first opportunity to drink the water.
honestly i wish i had known that before i had completed the game through drinking the cans. i wasn't aware what the canon ending was, or that there were even two endings. oh well, still a great game either way
dude i literally did this ending, but the game didnt properly clear the room out of any NPC's so in the end i saw bloody cop walking into the room with his menacing monologue and red light just to be killed by some random refugee NPC, i actually thought that it was part of the ending just for me to take like 3 more minutes to realize that its a bug
Kinda reminds me of that bug I had the first time I finished fallout new vegas, where there would be that Enclave Remnant soldier walking around in front of the ending slides for some reason. I think I have rarely laught that hard in front of a video game. @@OsnoloVrach
Who the heck puts alternate emotionally satisfying endings with different levels in episode 1 of a series!? We're far away from Valve forcing a cliffhanger at the end that they'll undo in a few minutes in the following game now! Just excellent storytelling and writing with tight design and no padding for easily one of the best Half-Life games, trouncing every HL2.
Every official Half-Life game from 2 on has ended with a cliffhanger that gets undone in a few minutes in the following game with no alternate options. Entropy Zero Uprising Episode 1 instead comes with this alternate ending that conclusively and emotionally ends its revolution story exploring how the Combine control the rank and file while having much sharper gameplay and storytelling than every Half-Life 2. I beat all the Half-Life 2s for the first time in April and beat Entropy Zero Uprising Episode 1 in May, and this was easily way better than all of them combined... and it's a mod labeled as an "Early Access" release.
@@zaphero5518 you do know that the half life games were released years apart from each other right? The cliffhangers got undone in a few minutes because you played the games together. Also while I did enjoy this mod and the alternate endings, it is nowhere close to the half life trilogy or even entropy:zero 2 for that matter. Alternate endings wouldn't work in the original half life because there really is only one narrative.
So victor-60 wife been killed by bloody in apartment near the mall and breen private reserve drink deleting his memory that should explain why bloody question victor-60 "Do you remember this room?" if we drink the last water
@@mercce6750 which kind of sucks in a way if they continue where victor 60 does forget and sides with bloody, would've been cool to see some story with the traitors
@@mercce6750 Damn, I hope you're wrong since Victor gets done dirty in the other ending, but you make a good point. I *really* want to see Episode Two now.
I love how the Combine just sends one Elite and Hunter to kill Victor, even though they should clearly know hes torn through waves of Rebels by now. They could have atleast sent a squad of Combine Soldiers to kill us
@@large-turkey A dude. He is competent but obey perfectly. He got injured like 30 minutes ago. Combine is busy preparing for operation in tc since a very powerful rebel group is located there. Combine better just kill the dude if they questioned his motivation and thought that he could affect the operation. And even if he could betray (still quite a low chance), he well need to fight: 10+ CP, one with a rocket launcher, a tank, a hunter, nearby zombies. So sparing 4-5 combine soldiers just to contain Victor means just hurting the operation.
Weird shit that happened to me, my real name is victor and i did this ending on the first try without knowing anything about not drinking the cans would trigger the real ending
It's a shame he died.. but what a beautiful ending. Victor-Sixty had enough.. I guess he will die on the same place his significant other died.. Atleast he will be with her soon.
He didnt die. There is a post-credit scene that shows the ending with bloody cop was just a hallucination. Victors seems to be not going with the Defectors and Rebels out of City17, resigning himself to stay...
@@Redbr34I assume you're talking about the destruction of the Citadel. Let's be honest here, Victor probably survived the initial Citadel Core explosion, and was probably able to leave City 17 as well before the entire Citadel collapsed
There are 3 endings to this game. The first one is the one in the video: You don't drink any of the water offered to you throughout the game, kill Bloody, and end up betraying the Combine. However, the soul of Bloody starts to haunt you for your actions. The second one is the entire opposite of the one I just explained: You drink most or all of the water offered to you throughout the game, you don't kill Bloody, you continue to fight the rebels, but you're ultimately killed by the female CP traitor, and then seemingly revived by Bec at the very end. The final ending is essentially the same as the one in the video, except you don't pick any side to join: You don't drink the water throughout the game, you kill Bloody, but instead of joining the Rebels, you stay out in the streets only for a Strider to kill you.
but the creator for episode 2 it does not continue after the alternate ending. but after normal end not alternate. he would have the sequel episode 2 after the end bloody cop and not dead
@@psychospy9214 what chapters besides chapter 4 require you to not drink water? I only remember bloody cop asking at the end and I didn’t get the alternate ending after refusing the water
