Insane to see a Half-Life 2 beta recreation mod get this far without stopping, I have a lot of hope for finally visiting a remastered Air-Ex. The only thing they need to fix is the performance, a few places had fps drops or massive stutters even on my 4080.
@@fruitylerlups530 Thought it was running on the Portal 2 version of Source. I have seen a throaway mention of the engine used on another video, so I maybe I got it wrong.
That's my biggest flaw with this mod aswell, optimization is worse than black mesa source, and that says alot!!! Do you know any tricks to increase performance and fps?
@@montero363 I noticed that if you have an external fps cap like though the nvidia control panel or RTSS, turning it off removes some of the stuttering. That's all I've found so far though.
Half Life 2 Beta Raising the Bar Redux, happens somewhere in other dimension in mutliverse, this would make so much sense, since multiverse is a lore already after Half Life Alyx.
This mod is probably the best Half-Life mod since Black Mesa, I'm absolutely in love with how they've managed to translate all of the really cool HL2 Beta concepts into a game with a coherent sense of progression. Everything is so perfectly recreated too, that gravity gun looks sexy, and even though it's not a complete mod it's really cool that it has quite a bit of content in it already. Fans of the Half Life alphas/betas are eating good lately since Signal Lost for HL1 is also a thing.
This is why every game should have full mod tools and engine access provided to the community. Games have limited development times, but with modding, you can get infinite different little version, upgrades, overhauls, etc. over the years. Also allows for fixing up stuff that couldn't be figured out the original devs or just wasn't available at the time of development.
There are Gmod addons for this mod Here is the link for the collection: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2100995291 As for maps, I think they can be ported easily
