For the most part, these doors are heavy & uses hydraulics to move. So unless you're a complete fool, the odds of it happening is next to nothing. Normally you'd use one hand to push and hold the door in place, and the only to trigger the locks/handle.

How does this thing keep air sealed? I understand the locking lugs that keep the door in place but what keeps it sealed? All Boeing doors I know of (Except 777 and 787) open inwards, allowing the door to be bigger than the door frame, having the air pressure difference constantly force the door into the frame, guaranteeing air sealing.

the door edge sits onto a seal in the door frame thats like a tube around the door edge. that seal has little holes on it on the inside, through which the pressure from the cabin can enter therefore blowing up the seal a little thus forcing it to the door's edge. it can compare the minimal movement and size deteorientation during flight.

She didn’t check if the armed slide warning light illuminated prior to pulling the lever all the way up 😅🤧
@AviaLearn
@AviaLearn 7 месяцев назад
Thank you for your comment. From inside she checked the slide is disarmed with the control lever and the pin in the disarmed position + checking cabin pressure indication. From outside it's necessary to check only the cabin pressure indication, even if the door is armed , there's a safety that disarmed the slide in case of opening the door from outside.

What happened when caban prashare is flashing and you open the door
@AviaLearn
@AviaLearn 6 лет назад
The Cabin Pressure indicator lights flash red when the following 3 things have occurred; the engines are shut down, the door is disarmed, and the cabin differential pressure is above 0.0362. This is a very important indicator device; given that Airbus aircraft don't have plug type doors, opening of a door when cabin pressure is too high will most probably throw the person from the aircraft
@autogolazzojr7950

You can't open the door. Even though the door doesn't need to move inward, it still requires you to move a large piece of metal that has tons of pressure on it.

What all of these aircraft door videos prove is the absolute need for STANDARD door operations on ALL similar size aircraft so that crew and pax can quickly open them in an emergency without having to stop and read an instruction placard.
@Kalvinjj
@Kalvinjj 3 года назад
Crew is always trained for that so not an issue, and passengers on an emergency wouldn't be operating even the emergency exits, which they are trained on the before-flight videos to locate. In an emergency where all flight attendants (the ones trained to operate the doors) are incapacitated, you would sure be incapacitated/dead as well long before needing to open the doors.
@NinoNiemanThe1st
@NinoNiemanThe1st 2 года назад
These videos don't 'prove' anything like a need for 'STANDARD' door operations at all. Aircraft designs improve all the time, and crew are trained to operate them all safely, plus the procedures are specifically designed to be simple anyway and crew are trained NOT to require reading placards to safely operate an aircraft. To limit every similar sized aircraft design to a single door design/procedure is a stupid idea that would stifle innovation for no safety benefit. Yours is an amateurish idea without any reference to the way crew are trained, or actual incident analysis, or the basic simplicity in which door operations design is made for safety. There are areas in which crew procedural consistency is important, but this affects pilots, not cabin crew, and there are not many aircraft types where pilots 'cross-type'. The 737-MAX mess was one of them though, but that had nothing to do with doors.
@davidkamen
@davidkamen 2 года назад
@@NinoNiemanThe1st I doubt my idea of standardizing door design and operation is amateurish and stupid as you stated. I am a commercial airline pilot with 34 years of experience. What are your credentials or qualifications ?
@davidkamen
@davidkamen 2 года назад
@@Kalvinjj you obviously know nothing about this matter. Passengers must open over wing emergency exits on many aircraft because the cabin attendants are seated in the front and aft of the wing area. Passengers must also assist launching rafts, they must also assist other passengers when exiting via door and over wing exits. Standardization is required. I am a commercial airline pilot with 34 years of experience. What are your credentials ?
@Kalvinjj
@Kalvinjj 2 года назад
@@davidkamen Glad I don't fly with you if you expect some morons that would be more interested in grabbing their luggage and filming the crash, to help save lives. "what are your credentials" is the most pathetic counter argument ever, as if you could prove it's really you on some random pilot's LinkedIn that you may want to show as proof (which you didn't either). Well, mechanical engineer are my "cReDEntIALs" if you want that, and I know to never trust the average idiot to safety critical situations, and so does the airline management to train cabin crew to do this instead of relying on passenger knowledge. If you think morons that don't know how to hook up a damn HDMI device, (a near 20 year old standard that can't go in the wrong way and sometimes is the sole connection point), would know how to operate a door cause it's a standard, then I hope you fly with a decent cabin crew. Being standard means nothing if you're not trained on that standard, which no one flying is more than the pre-flight safety briefing.
