I think the "blood groove" is actually a fuller, a structural technique in forging. It seems counterproductive, but the groove actually changes the cross section of the blade and strengthens it. Love your reviews, they help me decide which models I want to get into
I noticed that aside from the color-separated wings, the build of the Aile Striker seems to be virtually identical to the HG revive which is pretty interesting. I wonder if these parts are compatible with the HG Aile Strike (Edit: Turns out it is according to the Gunpla Wiki). Also, I feel like it was kind of a missed opportunity to include the Armor Schneiders since the original basic EG doesn’t come with it out of the box but eh what we have is already enough to settle with I guess
The original polybag (is that the right term?) release of the EG Strike came with Armor Schneiders, but the later box release omits them. Still a massive shame since the bagged release seems almost impossible to find nowadays.
I have been saying it would be nice to have an HGCE Skygrasper that would come with the Launcher & Sword Packs. I guess Bandai heard me and decided on just the Packs, lol. I wouldn't mine a two pack HGCE Skygrasper set though
As an old guy (git) getting back into model making to help out my grandson, all I can say is that entry grade kits are incredible. From someone who probably lost a good few IQ points breathing in the glue fumes back in the day. Thank you Airfix. . . .
I'd agree, I really love the way it looks OOB and personally I don't have any looseness with it yet. My old HGCE on the other hand is starting to age(makes sense since it's been like a decade since I bought it), I guess I could replace some of the old polycaps but I prefer just messing with the EG and I do have the option sets coming for it.
This personally hits home for me even after the announcement that this, Sword Strike and Launcher Strike were going to be option sets and not tied to just one EG kit. The weapons alone are worth it, even better if you plan on painting the weapons
Just as a note, the Shield and Rifle isn't the only way the Strike comes. The EG Strike had 4 different loadouts, the most common being the bagged one which just has the armored shneiders, the boxed one with the shield and rifle, the Grand slam set, and the launcher set.
If you're planning on getting this option set, the single point attachment on my copy of this kit fits much more securely compared to what Mecha demonstrates at 8:16 But it does look like Mecha just didn't push the attachment peg all the way into the EG Strike's back. So don't worry about the Aile Striker pack being loose.
I just got the two options kits and I gotta say, the color separation is awesome, more so in Option Set 2 (Launcher Strike and Sword Strike). For something so simple, the detail is awesome. More bang for your buck and...dare I say, this may be the HGSeed Perfect Striker for the modern age. Edit: Also, a tip to tighten the grip of the peg. I used a small strip of tape around the peg and it works perfectly.
Something i found you can do with loose pegs to fix them really quick if you are lazy is wrap a little bit of tissue around them before putting them in. if it works it tightens up the peg and if it doesnt you havent messed anything up
Yo! Everytime you drop a new video I really watch it immediately. I'm currently on college and your videos feed my Gundam addiction. Actually I don't have a lot of Kits, I only have the SD Unicorn and EG Strike. I was saving up for Schwarzette last few months and when the time I had the money, I was really sad that they ran out. Before they have like 2 boxes of those but I wasn't able to get even just one. Anyways, keep up the great contents always, Man!
When the launcher and sword strike come out can you test the shoulder parts out with the HGCE Strike? I don’t like how brittle the EG is but these striker packs and the weapons are awesome
I'm just currently missing the Lah Gundam in my lineup of all Entry Grade Gundams and I do wish for a new one as well... I can imagine the Exia being next. But will be surprised if they make the EG Wing Gundam. Will definitely buy this once the Launcher/Sword Pack is also available.
Good idea Entry Grade Strike Gundam 2021 Version Only,... But Wait Need Added Compatible with HGCE Aile Strike Gundam and also compatible with HG Gundam Seed Strike Gundam, Strike Rouge and 105 Dagger or Slaughter Dagger The Striker Packs Backpack Addon Thanks!,... But Hold on Next New item Soon Options Set Gunpla 02 The Sword and Launcher Striker Pack
Ah, nice to see the upgrade kit for the HGCE Aile Strike Gundam is actually pretty good. Kinda sucks we now have a redundant pack, but hey, extra Striker Pack doesn't hurt.
Besudes the new wings and adapters, the Aile Striker itself looks and builds the same as the old HGCE, exact same seams and all. I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai just rearranged the HGCE's CAD data onto new runners. Maybe that's why the fit isn't as good lol. Overall, if you just want a 1/144 Aile Strike, the HGCE still seems like the best value. Mines is more solid after 10 years than my EG Strike after 2.
Used a 3rd party funnels on my EG Nu Gundam, worked out fine for a while, but now it is unable to stand with the funnels on its back. I think the EG line of kits is not suitable for any additional weight.
I hope for a full updated CE71 ZAFT lineup. Orb and Alliance have their full rosters already, and even some manga units, but ZAFT is still missing the bulk of it's roster.
I found an HG Perfect Strike kit and it's nice that all the packs fit with my Entry Grade Strike. Ditched the HG Strike to the corner of the shelf. Hahahahaua
I'd love to see more lead Gundams get the simple, yet amazing quality Entry Grade treatment. Impulse, the Astrays, Gundam Mk II, Exia, maybe Gundam Alex with the chobham armor sold separately as an add-on set like these Strike weapon sets?
Funny how in the original Entry Grade, they mention that it's compatible with the HGCE packs only for Bandai to release the Entry Grade add on packs. I've built this Entry Grade and it is nice that the part separation is great (no stickers) I don't like how brittle the plastic is and the joints get loose very quickly. Overall, the MG GAT-X105+AQM/E-X01 Aile Strike Gundam [Ver RM] is the best version. The only con is that the Launcher/Sword Striker Pack is a P-Bandai add on set. The RG is a good choice in that if you're going for all the variants, it's not as expensive since the Launcher/Sword Striker Pack are included with the RG FX-550 Skygrasper. 5:55 As with the other grades of this, you'd want a _complete_ collection of the variants and get multiples to have: 1. GAT-X105 Strike Gundam 2. GAT-X105+AQM/E-X01 Aile Strike Gundam 3. GAT-X105+AQM/E-X02 Sword Strike Gundam 4. GAT-X105+AQM/E-X03 Launcher Strike Gundam 5. GAT-X105+AQM/E-YM1 Perfect Strike Gundam 17:14 This kind of reminds me of the ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse Gundam; albei the wings are in the opposite direction and on the lower backside.
I’ve had no luck with the backpack peg hole on the EG strike; every adapter I’ve got won’t stay in and also the action base peg hole is super loose. While I love more Entry Grade models I’m worried we won’t at least get one of each lead Gundam or even any grunts. Heck will we get any EG “Char” MSs?
I wish they'd do this for 1/100 scale. I want the grand slam for my MG aile strike, but I'm not buying a whole gundam base exclusive version of an already exclusive perfect strike off p bandai / scalpers for a weapon. This is why 3rd party is doing so well rn
all the weapons are from other versions of EG strike gundam but you can't "snap clear" the Aile striker because there are some thick gates on those runners (on the battery of prefect strike are the most obvious one) This is more like HG Aile striker and EG weapons. I think that's why bandai doesn't put grading on the box
i owned one entry grade and that’s NU Gundam FF and my problem with it is the arm and leg joints too loose. Are all entry grade like that? Or just this one particularly?
A pesar que el alie strike de este model kit le queda flojo al EG strike gundam en cambio con el HG strike gundam le queda perfecto ya que lo probé y gracias por tus vídeos gracias a ellos me baso para ver si vale la pena conseguirlo.
but HGCE Aile Strike aile strikerpacks doesn't have color separating wings and changeable connector parts so EG Aile Strikerpacks set is more valuable 😉
I happened to have recently built this kit a couple weeks ago and mine's striker pack attachment point is actually too tight to be taken off without force. is the peg being loose a common issue?
