I love my small, mini and micro scale RCs and at ONLY $99aud I had to see what this little Maverick Atom 1/18 brushed Monster truck was all about😃
This would make a great first car for younger kids into the wonderful, healthy and highly entertaining world of RC!

All of my DIY carbon, aluminium or polycarbonate parts are cut with a jigsaw and drilled with a hand drill.
Most of my materials like Carbon Fibre, Aluminium, polycarbonate and hardware like screws, bolts and nuts are purchased from Ebay Australia but most of what I use is easily found just by Google searching the material or hardware you require.
Music made on the GroovePad phone app.
All editing done on my phone using the Kinemaster phone app.

Another great review mate perfect starter for a young kid new to the hobby. So glad they put a wheelie bar on it for the stock setup 😁😂😂😂😂😂😂 Looking forward to seeing what you do with it let’s see that wheelie bar put to use 😉😁😆 Hope 2024 is a good one for you mate let’s hope the channel growth is insane this year 🤞🏻🤞🏻😎

Maybe they thought a wheelie bar was necessary for if kids quickly learn how to do roll back wheels🤔🤣 Yeah thanks Michael! It is a fun little truck, if I enjoy it I'm sure many youngsters will love it👌 Probably need a bit of modding before installing a brushless kit though😅 And you too, hope you have a great year! 100% they are down to about $70aud from some online stores now, perfect for youngsters but fun to upgrade aswell, many upgrades available for them👌

Wow. Great entry leave car for sure. Super tough. Perfect for the younger crowd. But I’m sure it will get that motor upgrade, 🫢since it already has the metal diffs. That’s a bonus!. 👍🏼🚗

I went brushless on mine pretty much immediately after i done my review on the rlaarlo version over a year ago, it made it heaps more fun to bash! Happy New Year man 🎉🍻👍

Yes but you also need the matching controller for whatever brand 2in1 you actually buy. I'd much rather use reliable hobby grade electronics which means I can use a controller I already have like my Spektrum DX4c or one of my dumborc system.

Good video. It definitely looks like a good starter rig for kids. Not too fast, and with the controller being on the smaller side.

Gday Saul, Hope you had a great Christmas and NewYears mate... We had a blast in Fremantle, Some real feral's come out to play and it was entertaining to say the least from our hotel balcony.. I agree with ya on this one, for 95 bucks its ideal for a youngen to see if they are interested in the hobby, its spot on in that budget line ! - Hoping to see more out of HPI/Maverick in the near future for sure! Great battery life and its pretty stable ay! For the kids getting into it at that price its a steal Once you Frankenstein it I can't wait to see it run! Great video bud...Take care my friend!! 👍

Oh I could imagine Fremantle would've been entertaining😆 Yeah you too mate, hope you had a good Christmas and sound like a good New year! This is absolutely perfect for exactly that, to see if a youngsters would be interested in RCs, its relatively easy to strip down and replace or mod parts also so great for teaching them about RC tinkering if they enjoy them👌 So behind with my videos but yes modding and upgrading this one is on the list😉

If you ask me the car is for young new driver. That means that the remote control should be small

That's exactly what I stated in the video, doesn't mean you can't make it for experienced drivers, it's a fun and very capable little basher with a 3s esc 3s lipo and stock motor😯

if it's more available to us than the Granite GROM, then it's already a chicken dinner winner.

It really depends on use and future plans as the grom is MUCH stronger in general so perfect for more power and bigger faster bashing. I don't recommend this one if you want more power, diffs won't last long I can already tell.

My sons car seems to eat spur gears. Any suggestions please on upgrading this to a metal gear if possible

I'm assuming your using the correct pinion gear, I mean there are only a few things that could cause that over and over, wrong pinion size or pitch, loose motor or stuff getting stuck in the wheels or drivetrain.

Yes because it's a cheap beginners car! But it's full proportional and many upgrades available for it so your actually kind of wrong at the same time, sorry🤷
