This DIY entryway makeover is renter friendly and budget friendly. This entryway makeover includes a DIY bench and a DIY entryway shelf with hooks. You should have some cheap door mats on the self where you put the shoes so you don't destroy the self with dirty shoes. IKEA has some really good ones

Absolutely adore your entryway. As a suggestion, you may want to put something under the shoes in the cabinet so it doesn't scuff up the wood (or get it continuously wet during the winter). Lesson I learned a few years back. The pieces are super cute!

I'd put the litter box someplace like behind the couch (personally we have always kept ours in bathroom). That way you don't have to worry about guests entering into a smell. That entryway is beautiful! 🤩👏 You doing the diy with your dad was also great! ❤️ I love article pieces.

I sooo wish I had somewhere else to put it! But honestly it doesn’t get bad (unless I’m nose blind 😆). I clean it constantly practically every time it’s used!

Nice job! One suggestion would be to turn the seam of the lamp so you can’t see it when you walk in, it should be towards the back, a small detail that makes a finished look :)

Make sure lamp seam is not on show , it’s the same with picture frames, I notice when they are not straight lol, such an improvement though, you did well

Hi, I am not allow to screw a mirror into my entry way apartment. Do you think the mirror would stay up using command strips only? Thanks

If you buy the really heavy duty command strips and use multiple to evenly distribute the weight, it might. If I were told I couldn’t drill though I’d probably buy a square mirror or rectangle and just stand it up against my furniture!

I made that same bench. I added hooks as well above it. I put mine in a little area by my garage door and I absolutely love it. I painted mine white with a gray stain for the seating part. I love yours so beautiful. Thank you for sharing today.

Amazing! Love the look. Thought I'd give a little tip with the cats... My boyfriend and I are moving in together and will have 4 cats and 2 ferrets along with a dog, 6 sugar gliders and a 6 foot snake... Anyway... I've been doing research on litter and found a 40lb bag of pine bedding (aka pine litter) at tractor supply for less than $6. What I love about wood pellets is no smell, easy clean up and it doesn't get tracked everywhere. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Thank you for sharing!!

I LOVED this ! you have such a great eye and I love how strong you are and how you set such a beautiful example for your son... he's growing up knowing that women are powerful :) I have a 5 year old daughter and yesterday I put a table together and she said "wow mommy, you are so strong!" and it meant the world to me. And ofcourse as a foster rescue dog/cat mom, loved your pets interacting as u designed your space.🐈🐺 Not a fan of the rug. Light colored rug causes your eyes to look down 1st at rug vs beautiful credenza. Not sure u even need rug except at door entry way. Just sayin.

You did a lovely job! Question: Does it give you ample entering space (door opening)? From where your bench is in relation to the door hinges, I'm just curious. I've been looking for a similar solution for my teeny tiny entryway, right now it's overflowing with too many jackets - yes, I need to declutter and revamp the space - but was just wondering how you overcame that issue if it was issue? Right now, I'm in the measuring & remeasuring and searching & remeasuring phase, while I declutter that area as I try to imagine the area or pick things that might work. (Kind of hard to describe - like playing Tetris with the dishwasher).

It does give ample entering space!! I was a little worried about it but it's perfect. The door doesn't open 100% with the bench there like that but I'd say 90% and that's fine!!

I asked my landlord for a pint of wall paint and a pint of trim paint that they use. He gave me both and I was able to do touch up. I had to provide the paint cans however. That way I could touch up as I was living in the apartment. When I left the apartment, I didn't have a whole lot to do as far as clean up on the walls and trim.

It’s in the trunk of my car! We just walk out to my car and grab it if we need it and then throw it back in before a head inside! I kind of want to buy a smaller one since mine is getting really beat down anyway
