In this battle report we have Goblin Town going up against the Ents of Fangorn Forest! This was an interesting game of polar opposite armies! Who won? watch to find out Conquest Creations Webstore: www.conquestcreations.net/
My Mordor army lead by the Witch King is getting close to complete. I'll have it on the channel. I'll look out for a Rivendell knights player who is keen to get on
Really enjoy the videos! Dwarves of khazad dum have always been my favorite so would love to see how you play them. Also just picked up some dunlendings so maybe a Dunland LL???
That brutal power attack from the ents is absolutley nuts, i have to give that a try! I would love to see a battle report including a mighty Mûmak, i guess that would be a lot of fun to watch :D
Great report, love the format. Very handy too as I'm taking my Ents to my first MEBSG tournament next weekend. My plan? Step on anything smaller than me and hope everything works out somehow.
Thanks Jacob. Handy to see the goblins in action for the goblin town army i'm currently building. Looks like the list really needs the Goblin King to do the killing.
He absolutely does. I can't wait ot see your army in person! It's one of the most impressive armies I think I have ever seen. I was inspired by some conversions that I saw in your Dol Guldor army to make my mercenaries out of Morranon orcs
Awesome battle report, and awesome match up! Just a question: are you sure that beechbone re rolls to wound when buldeoning? The rule says that he re-rolls failed to wound when making strikes, but AFAIK brutal power attacks aren't properly considered strikes (for example, you don't get to double your attacks if you are rending a trapped model)
Easterling against Khazad-dum would be awesome I reckon, it'd also give me a bit of a tutorial on how to play with dwarves. Just found this channel, it's pretty good
@@ConquestCreations yea I found it just after this video, was gonna come back and comment but I got too enthralled by the King's Champion. Excellent content 👌
Love the video as always! A couple questions- do you need to take terror checks after passing the courage test for being broken? I thought if you pass courage in one phase you don't have to take another test. Second question, does gollum have to take the test for the ring on a 3+ each turn?
Thanks for the comment. With the courage tests you only need to pass one courage check for each thing that causes you to need a courage check. This means that if the Goblin King passes his courage test to charge and Ent calls a heroic combat and kills it then he wont need to pass another courage test to charge another ent. But he still needs to pass two tests if the army is broken. And yes gollum was taking his 3+ I was trying to make the video as concise as possible and skipped over a few things like gollum, and the scribe summoning more goblins. I have just upgraded my camera set up so future video will be 45 minutes long and have more details with much higher production value
hi! i would love to know, if you made any progress with your arnor force, which you mentioned in one of your videos! i am also working on an army of arnor at the moment and i could need some advice on writing the list... also i am struggeling to decide on which colour scheme i should paint them :p do you think GW will announce some new rules for Angmar/Arnor any time soon? Cheers and Greetings from Germany :)
Hey mate! I haven't started working on it yet. My next army is a mordor/Angmar army I am getting close to done with it and its my best painted army by a mile! I will do Arnor soon after that. For my list I am going to be taking 1/3 hobbit archers, 2/3 warriors of arnor. At 750 I am going to have 3 banners becuase its really important that every fight I always have a banner helping. I will use Arvedui, Malbeth and captains. This army list actually has a really high body count and the troops are very powerful for their cost. The downside is that Arvedui is the only model with strike making big heroes very hard to deal with. I am not sure about new rules. I have no idea what the next supplement will be. Hopefully its Arnor and Angmar!
Hi mate, great video. I've just picked up some Goblins myself so been looking at how other people play them. Would you say mercenaries are essential for a goblin town army? Also, how does the goblin scribe affect break point? If he brings on 10 goblins does your break point go up by 5? If not, how do you keep track of the goblins in your army and the goblin reinforcements?
Good question, Goblin Mercenaries are an interesting one. On paper they are incredible and I thought that they would be key to my list. At 750 my army list had 2 warband of 12 of them and I'm not sure that I would take that many again. They take so long to actually get into the game. I'll have to play a few more games to really decide how many to take but I would always recommend taking a few. Mine are conversions which are a lot cheaper than the forgeworld models. Your break point is determined at the start of the game. So if you have 100 models when 51 have died you are broken. Even if you bring in more models as soon as 51 have died you are broken
@@ConquestCreations thanks for your replies. Seems like the best thing they bring is that mobility, whether it's to distract enemy ranged units like you did or grab objectives. Probably wouldn't do two full units but two small groups could cause enough hassle. The other option I'm considering is allying in a spider queen and a bat swarm. You lose the bonus but gain a different sort of threat. Ah disappointing about the break point thing but makes sense. Kinda almost feels like a disadvantage if you suicide them.
@@Keenormeister Yeah they give the army mobility in some scenarios that are really powerful. A good thing to keep in mind is that you can just deploy them normally is you want and they are regular goblins with extra defence. Allying in the spider queen and batswarm works well, another option is allying in the 3 trolls. You never see them because they only run at 400 points pure but they are really powerful Suiciding them is a disadvantage. I used them to go after objectives and get behind the enemy. The scribe is super powerful especially with the new scenarios that came out in the Matched Play Guide Book
Awesome job! Only thing is beachbone cannot re roll to wound on bludgeon since that is a brutal power attack and he can only re roll “strikes”. Other then that great job!
Great video jacob, congrats on 2k subs. Whats your opinion on my 800 points erebor reclaimed army. It consist of thorin oakenshield champion of erebor with orcrist , fili champion of erebor, ( theyre all champions of erebor) kili, dwalin, bifur, bofur, bombur, nori, dori and oin Or my thorins company 800 poimt army. Thorin, fili, kili, bifur, bofur, bombur, dwalin, balin, oin, gloin, ori, nori, dori and bilbo at 805 points
Thanks for the congratulations! I have used Thorins company quite a lot. For the champions of erebor, the army will be a lot more powerful with Thorin, Kili, Fili, and Dwalin on goats. This gives you some manuverability and makes them hit a lot harder. Its a pretty tricky conversion though so without them on goats I reckon I would take this at 800 I would take (all champions) Thorin, Kili, Balin, dwalin, bifur, bombur, ori, nori, dori, and gloin. From your list I swapped Fili, bofur, and oin for Balin, Ori, and Gloin. Gloin can put out a ridiculous amount of damage, Balin controlling the Priority is really helpful because there are times where you can choose to loose priority, and Ori's chronciler ability is so good. I used to think it wasn't amazing but after using it a few times there have been games where I have gotten 4-5 extra might points from it which has changed the game. I usually play Thorins company at 750 and just take all of the dwarves without any upgrades and that list is so much fun to use. I reckon it has one of the highest damage potential of all the lists. They key thing is that its tricky to play correctly and you have a lot of rules to remember. my first few games with them I forgot a lot of there extra rules that make a big difference when you use them all together.
Yeah they work really really well. They don't scale well, but the goblins are twisted and morphed, so its about mixing the right pieces together. I am doing a few more of them for an upcoming commission video that I will be making a video about so you will see a guide in that
Yeah he does. I was trying to make this video as concise as possible so left out some details. In the future battle reports will be 45 minutes and have a lot more detail
Thanks for the comment. I am in Melbourne, If I was anywhere else I wouldn't be playing with myself hahahah. Next year I will be coordinating a few tournaments. It would be great to have you down for one!
@@ConquestCreations do you do 3d printing services? I'm collecting Army of the Dead right now but I would definitely play Fangorn if I could get the normal ents for a bit cheaper
I could defiantly do some custom printing for you. The ents will be really affordable. Send me a message here and we can talk about it: www.conquestcreations.net/contact
