If you are from Enugu and/or an Enugu brought up, come here for a group hug! And tell me your best memories of Enugu. Enugu kids are known as the best behaved kids in Nigeria because we were well brought up. 💃💃💃
chai. Enugu brought up. Zika Avenue primary school, holy rosary college Enugu, esut. where do I even begin.my fondest memory is waking up early to go get a spot in new haven for my braids.
I remember bringing my daughter to Nigeria for the first time when she was 5 years old. We spent two weeks in Lagos before heading to Enugu. As soon as we arrived at Enugu , she said that she likes Enugu better than Lagos. I asked her why , she stated that Enugu is cleaner and quieter. From the mouths of babes.
I use to say Lagos but honestly, Enugu it is. After all the Hustle, I want to come home and rest Abeg. You brought back all the lovely memories. 042 babe🙌 Enugu born & brought up but from Anambra state ❤️
Lagos? Chai o. Lagos is only good for ichu ego and it's accessible. I have popcorn head thinking about Lagos now. The serene sides of Enugu bring so much fresh air. 👍👍👍
Born in Enugu, did my primary at Aba, came back to Enugu for my secondary, then Owerri for my tertiary, finally living in Enugu now with my family, Independence Layout precisely, and u drove pass my house😊❤️🌹
Apart from the beautiful environment of enugu city the people are also accommodating and friendly who are willing to do anything for you as a visitor, it's in enugu they serve you in the most honourable and respectful manner everything neatly packed and cover
Enugu people are lovely, things about Enugu is their people, the way they speak Igbo language, their hospitality, foods and more. I wish am from Enugu.
Enugu bu nke anyi 🤗. Well done Aunty Flo. I grew up in Enugu (Nsukka), University Education in UNEC and definitely retiring to Enugu city when the time comes. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I did my NYSC in Enugu, worked at NITEL on okpara avenue close to First bank. I lived in custom barrack on independent lane. My parents was ready to redeploy me back to Lagos. I said no and stayed back. I spent some times in GRA. I wanted to stay back because the city is peaceful and relaxing. My mum threatened to come down and park my load.
i used to think igbo land is forest judging from the number of igbos living in lagos ,i kept wondering why they keep running to lagos and other western states ,in 2001 my company transfered me to enugu ,i cried my heart out ,it was tears and sorrow in my family .my pastor bought flight ticket for me to go and visit before taking a decision on whether to resign ,my people when i landed i saw a beautiful city with the most beautiful and amazing people in the world ,i have lived in this city ever since , when my company tried to relocated me back to lagos i resigned ,today enugu is my home in nigeria ,married an amazing igbo lady from abatete anambra state .today we live in america but have our family home in enugu .
Thank you for bringing us memories of 042..Enugu city and nature is incomparable in Africa..This the only city where more than 70% of the people are educated and coordinated..if i don't build my perfect mansion in enugu then i gain nothing as igbo man..lovely💚💚💚
Wow I don fall inlove with this city oo.Enugu is the most cleanest city, I don seen in Nigeria so far.see the drivethru down the roads, everywhere nice and clean💕
It's obvious how well Aunty feel much at home in eastern Nigeria. I love the way you love our country. Me have bought my land already in enugu. Obodo oyibo no be our home. I've started planning my retirement in enugu from my 20's .
Ohhh I can't hide it! 💃💃💃 Eastern Nigeria is blessed by geographical location. It has a potential to be the ultimate paradise with all that green. If not that my village is my first choice, Enugu would have been it. Congratulations! I'm happy that your life is going according to how you planned it. 👍👍👍
Enugu!😊 I have been in love with Enugu. I have only visited several times, staying a few days in each visit, but the place just makes me happy😃. They have good food, everywhere is cool! People I have met from Enugu (both "born" and "bred") are nice. In secondary school, the Enugu girls had this aura (to me though)😊. They used to speak Igbo well too in a polished manner (if you get what I mean) 😂
Been checking Enugu on google maps as you drove. Very different to Lagos Looks organized and clean also, parks and greenery. Thanks for taking me on the new journey through a part of Nigeria I didn't know. Oh yeah, thanks also for including us into your conversation.
Ayyy my native state! It’s lovely to see so many Anambrans love Enugu too and to chose to make it their home or send their kids to school there. Love from the UK!
What are you talking about? Enugwu city is was the capital of eastern region and old Anambra state. Fulani people created those fake states and they have nothing to do with people. Most communities that share borders are related and have more in common irrespective of states.
Chai!! I feel like crying watching this video. I have so missed Enugu. From primary school to university, in Enugu. John Holt, where I did my first after secondary school job🤣🤣. My dad said I will get lost in Enugu when I come that so much have changed🤣🤣. Modotels where I did my after wedding party. Chai you are really making me cry with this video. 042 for life. Thanks so much for sharing. I so miss Enugu. No where else to retire but Enugu!
This video has given me a new perspective on Nigeria than even Abuja. I would live in this city. WOW!! Clean, the trees and road network is world-class. Why is it that other parts of the country especially Lagos' Banana Island look nothing like this?
Europeans developed Enugu with their development plan after they discovered Coal in 1909 in Enugu and Enugu became the capital of old Eastern region and Igboland till date.
Omg it feels so good seeing my area again🥰🥰🥰🥰 We used to Live in GRA near Polo park. That IMT you were talking about is now College of Education. Also, you are right, that Ebeano tunnel leads to Artisan. Enugu is the best state biko. So serene.
Ehe, I was sure that IMT main campus changed so much. When we went into town, we saw that they have colonised campus 3 after ESUT moved to Ituku. Daalu for the confirmation.
Aunty Flo!!! Thanks for this video. Am actually from Enugu state. But based in Lagos but thinking of retiring to Enugu. I use to tell people that Enugu is the best but they won't hear o. Please keep louding it for them to hear o😂. We love you ma
Thanks Flo, i enjoyed the nostalgia watching this video from Manchester. I am “Enugu brought up”, from birth, nursery to University (with small touch of Nsukka). Enugu is indeed a lovely place to retire to. Btw, i’m not from Enugu state.
Enugu is beautiful Staying in lagos and the traffic na heart attack, sometimes I wonder if its overhyped. Longing for a place that one can just enjoy normal nature's blessings without air pollution, filth, and eternity in traffic. I just wish eastern governors can really try harder to make the eastern states liveable and stress free with adequate security
You just contradicted yourself You pointed out that lagos is plaque by air pollution, filth and terrible road traffic, and just contrasted it with Enugu which have none of those, so what else do you need to make Eastern states liveable Just admit it....Lagos is overhyped with some of the worst standards of living in Nigeria The thing with it is that the federal government has for decades concentrated development there such that most Nigerians think that to make it you have to move to Lagos
I agree with you Chinyere. I lived in Enugu for a while ( Uwani/ Agbani Road Area ). Worked at Abakpa Nike...............Yes Enugu is the CAPITAL of Igbo Land. Onitsha is like a sister City to Enugu. One can spend times between the TWO Cities ( Enugu and Onitsha ) assuming you are rich and OWN a Building in Enugu and Onitsha..............I like both Cities better than any Nigerian City. People from all parts of Igboland ( Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Anambra, etc. ) and Northerners live in Enugu.
Seeing familiar buildings and roads I love. Opposite radio Nigeria is where we enter early morning bus to work. New Market is one of my favorite places to buy vegetables and fruits in bulk and snails too, very cheap
Never been to the east but l've watched videos of Enugu for a million and one times now after this one.You could say l know this areas very well from youtube😂.Been preaching the same thing about Enugu for a while, beautiful city indeed.Calabar, uyo, lbadan,Asaba are not shabby either, better than most part of lagos...Thanks.
Your observations were spot-on. You were truly a product of Enugu, streetwise and intelligent. I think you should do some blogs about old and new Enugu Quarters if you can. Places like Ogui, Asata, Uwani, Achara-layout, Housing Estate Uwani, Maryland, Coal Camp, Artisan, Quarters, P&T Quarters, New-Layout, Independent Layout, NewHaven, Trans-Ekulu, Abakpa, etc.
Went to school there: Awkunanaw Boys, IMT. Lots of mango trees, clean streets, calm people and, yes beautiful girls. Enugu is it for relaxation and retirement.
Enugu is a beautiful and cool city oooo no wonder is choose for old eastern Nigeria capital dose days and a choice city for nnamdi azikiwe and odumegwu Ojukwu
I love the city too quiet and peaceful, less stress, the only thing I will urge the Enugu state government is to do something about water supply, if there's running water in all the areas in Enugu they will attract a lot more investment in the city.
@ Jane: Queen's eeeeee! Eeeee! That's how Queenites greet each other. I was the Senior Prefect for the 1979/1980 set at Queen's. I am a proud daughter of Enugu State. Grew up in Enugu. Attended Santa Maria Primary School, Ekulu Primary School, Queen's School and Institute of Management and Technology (IMT). Enugu Amaka! Enugu is in the hand of God. Thank you Flo for showcasing our beloved Coal City.
Yes Aunty Flo. You are spot on. Enugu is the best place to raise a family or even retire. The rush for properties there is high and that's why it's expensive. I just got one at HELIU residence and I know what it cost me. Lol. Its a lovely city. I'm from Anambra but Enugu is my home, anytime and anyway. Watching from USA.
Thanks alot for a very nice vlog. Very timely for me as I am in the country now and look forward to being in beautiful Enugu very soon. I enjoy your exchanges with the gentleman with you. I also enjoy the shots. You may want.to do close up shots in subsequent vlogs
Thanks Flo for this memorable sites and information. A friend of mine who use to live in the same area (Trans Ekulu) Enugu sent one of your videos to me. From that one video I decided to watch your 3 videos. I lived in Enugu from 1977 to 1989, and then relocated to the United States. Since I left Enugu I have visited Enugu only once, spending 5 days only (2015). I intend to visit Enugu again but the current happening is scary and I have friends only left in Enugu. Really speaking I thank you for this video BUT please can you make one more for Trans Ekulu, Nike and Abakpa. Cheers!!!
@@nanyascorner I don chop okra tire in abuja(shipped from Enugu) as well as in Enugu proper. Heading to Lagos now departing in 10min we'll see if the okpa deal continues
@@AdorableKitchen one day I witnessed a conductor collect a passenger's one slipper, threw it into the bus and hit his hand on the bus. That's how the bus left and the man was left with one foot of slippers. All because of give me change before I pay you. Those guys eh!
@@FloChinyere lolzzzz. Yes, that's why it's good to insist and stay inside the bus to collect your change before you climb down 😅😅😅😅 Even though sometimes if you jam really mean driver and conductor, they will even carry you pass your bus stop if it results to that. Lolzzzz Those conductors, I know how to mellow their heart ooo😅😅 I will be begging them"hei, biko enwene iwee, echeekweem na m Ji obere ego" etc😅😅😅😅 They will now calm down and run to co conductors or even filling station to collect change🤣🤣🤣🤣 But ifuta bia meweluha "imakwa ndi anyi bu" then itokiri! 🤣🤣🤣
