Great content. Enugu state has abundant fresh water, and it has numerous water falls in all it geography zones. All it need is a competent leader to pipe this water to the urban areas where it is needed. They want to rule the people but have no clue how to provide basic amenity such as water. Enugu population is growing fast but the governor have no plan to mitigate this challenges.. In this 21st century every country or state is adopting modernism, in the enugu state it is rather the opposite, Just check the commercial areas and the markets, you will see how horrible and dilapidated they are. Soon his 8 years in power will come to an end, you look round to see what has this man added to what he met, you find nothing but dilapidate roads, walk ways etc. What a shame.
He's right. Our well is only 30ft. I live in Enugu South Local Government area. This would be a Greta project for investors. It would definitely help with the growth of Enugu over time...one less thing that people will need to worry about.
Thank you Vera for this interview. Please advise him to continue consulting more with the government for a wilder coverage of the city till he meet the right official. Let him not be discouraged by those political Jobbers he has had interactions with, because those ones doesn’t have human heart in them; they would rather choose for the crisis to continue so that they will keep pocketing what they are pocketing while many are suffering. This is a very exciting news to hear 👍🏿
Enugu metropolis have a shale formation making it impossible to hit the aquifer. The good news is that a few miles away there is the Ajali river near 9th mile which is capable of suppling the whole of south east. It has been in use since the 50s and still very potent. The problem is a failure to build and maintain the infrastructure that pumps water to the city. That's why all the breweries and other water dependent industries are located at 9th mile corner. The water problem in Enugu is akin tp Nigeria's fuel problem. They are blessed with crude oil but not functional refinery.
Thank you Chief V for this interview. this water scarcity has been a major issue for me, Now my mind is made up. I'm relocating to Enugu by the grace of God😊 God bless you dear👍🙌
Great vlog. We need more videos like this. The engineer needs to advertise himself well. Water in Enugu will really improve quality of living. Thanks Chief Vera.
Omugo is a beautiful tradition that is enjoyed by both the new mom and the woman coming to help. The person coming for omugo most often does not leave without presents. Whoever is calling it unpaid labour doesn't know what omugo really is.
The PTSD is reallll!!! I dread dry seasons in Enugu This answered a lot of questions I ask anytime I visit the rural areas in Enugu and see spring water. Great one Ma’am 👍🏾
Thank God for a knowledgeable and sensible guest. Why can't you use a combination of water tanks and a well? As the city grows and more people sink wells won't this lower the water table? Is this a sustainable approach for the medium and long term? Water is a number one priority and be dealt with asap. It's more important than upgrading an airport etc. People need to prioritise properly inorder to make progress. You can't progress in life if you're hampered by inadequate water supply.
@@oceejekwam6829 people own it here. But filling it is the wahala. Buying water from tankers that haul water from 9th mile is expensive. Filling it with well water is not possible during dry seasons. So it's either u wait for rainy seasons or you spend money all year round
@@Chiefvera "Where there's a will there's a way..." I'm no expert, but fill the tankers with rain water during the rainy season. Use the well water during the wet season. Switch to the tankers when the well runs dry, or deepen the well. If you don't have the money, then your challenge would be to raise the money first. Your predicament is a difficult one, however you're not living in the desert. I'm sorry that people are facing this problem.
What an informative video! Hopefully the government would be more receptive to long lasting water solutions in Enugu. I think a big part of it is them making sure that the right people are seated at the table to help make these decisions
@@oceejekwam6829 the governor has been called out and still being called out. His supporters pose counter campaigns online claiming he's doing his best and even say that he inherited the problem and shouldn't be held responsible for solving it. Demonstrations were held last year. A peaceful one. The youths dropped empty gallons in front of the government house. All they did was to do photo ops and promises yet to be fulfilled
Honestly moving to Enugu water has always been my major problem especially wen we get to dry season 😒🙄 Imagine your well getting dry Thanks for the information 👍
Ada Ndi Enugu State😍. Your make up is on fleek plus your stunning natural Beaurri👌. Please can I borrow your face for a beauty pageantry?🥰 I love what you do Sis
