I have a handful of videos about Envy. There's a reason people spend hundreds of dollars on this one. It has prominent ginger, spice and woody notes. For some reason you're getting a tea note. I think your bottle has faded over time, with the oxygen in there. I have several used bottles and they do vary in scent and performance. The ones that remained solid over time are fantastic, but I don't get great performance. I totally disagree with a 4.5 grade, I would give it a 7 or 8. Thanks for the video! Maybe someday I'll send you one of my rarities and see your review on it.

i also thin there is something wrong with that bottle. the juice is not clear - winch is an indicator of it goin bad. what i get is shaving foam vibe - no way i would enjoy Envy if it had tea vibes.

Doesn’t smell sour or tainted at all tea / chamomile is what it’s reminding me of and I believe that varies from person to person as far as their interpretation, I get a little ginger as well like I mentioned. I think the fragrance is fine I just didn’t think much of it as some highly sought after fragrance….and don’t you get them for like a dollar in Japan lol ?

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey It doesn't need to smell sour, or similar to any other you've experienced, to be spoiled, some scents get so spoiled that if you don't know how they originally smell, you would never think they're spoiled, for example Lagerfeld Photo is the most prone to spoiling, so beware with that one, it can be spoiled so it gets rancid, but it can also be spoiled so that it smells okay, like a green water, and that's not how it should smell, it only reminds about 30% of the original smell and it's unusable, but who didn't tried the good one, can think that Photo smells so, because nothing stinks, it smells okay but mediocre, and that's not what good Photo is, it's one of the best scents.

My absolute favorite of all time! I have two bottles but still use Carven Homme, and Floris Santal so I don't get too trigger happy with the Envy, for reasons lol. Awesome video my man!

I really like Lagerfeld classic, but always thought Tony Montana would've worn something more edgier and in yo face like Aramis Havana or YSL Kouros. Lagerfeld seems kinda tame for Mr. Montana 😁

Best thumbnails in the game. Only found out about your channel a few months ago but it's one if the best fragrance channels on here. I do like envy but it's nothing amazing I paid £85 for a 15ml here in the uk! I expected more with all the hype it gets.

About five years ago, I often wore the dollar-store version of Gucci Envy, and it was one of my favorites from the dollar store. It's actually a scent profile that I can like. Since then, I've tried to find fragrances which are at least slightly similar to Gucci Envy, and I've been enjoying them, especially Kenzo "Jungle Homme", which might be considered as 'of a somewhat similar nature as Gucci Envy'.

I am very familiar with Kenzo jungle Homme as I've been wearing it for years. The Kenzo is more unique and kind of exotic compared to Gucci Envy. Kenzo lime/nutmeg/cinnamon/cardamon combo is super nice. Super underrated 💎 It's great for Spring & Fall 👍

Haven’t tried the Houbigant but Floris Santal also gets you a similar profile to Envy. Save your money, y’all, the jacked up prices are ridiculous

From Gucci, I own and enjoy: Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Homme and Gucci Intense Oud. With the Intense Oud you might have to let it macerate for a while (i.e. after you initially spray it) in order to get it to smell/perform its best. At first, I was very disappointed with that purchase, but after a while, I ended up liking it even though I still think it costs too much. I'm interested in trying some other ones from Gucci, including from the Gucci Guilty line, e.g. Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme. I've heard that Rogue Perfumery's "Bon Monsieur" is a good alternative to Gucci "Nobile". I just know that I own and enjoy Rogue Perfumery's "Bon Monsieur".

Had this in the late 90s wore the hell out of it loved it for years and then it got discontinued, I managed to get hold of a bottle for a decent slightly higher price but not as high as some on ebay so i have it in my collection now and i have a clone dua covet as well and dua gave it a good try but it ain’t quite right lol I’m surprised you didn’t like envy it’s still a perfect 10 for me the creamy feel of it and the incense nobody has replicated it all these years on but it’s a very individual thing fragrance there’s many hugely loved ones that i don’t like at all so i get it Gucci envy ain’t your jam but for me it’s a legend

Nobile is one hella of a scent! Had Envy and was giving me rush on my chest and neck. Maybe that’s why they discontinued it? Some people were allergic to some of the ingredients? They’re were less regulations back then. But I did enjoy the scent. You should try Carven Homme too that is very similar but even better mix of notes. That one is discontinued as well.

A few other frags that have some similar profiles to O.G Envy that are reasonably priced are Azzaro Visit & Kenzo Jungle Homme (as regismonkton stated below in the comments section) to my nose

I have mentioned it in a few videos it’s a very nice grassy green morning dew on leaves type of scent, I don’t think it smells like nobile at all but it’s still a great scent. The video I know I talk about it in is my country club style fragrance list video if you want to check that out

I had Gucci Nobile in the 80's and wish i could find it now. Not a big fan of the guilty line but i recently purchased the brand new Gucci Guilty ELIXER and man, its absolutely amazing. Paid $195.00 including tax at Macys but worth every penny and it only comes in 60 ML SIZE.

One of the all time greats in my opinion, so I disagree on the review of course. This is a 2005 batch, so a bit later, and I’m surprised you said it’s linear. I wonder if your top notes faded. I’ve heard the ones from 98-03 (the ones that came in the clear sleeve) were more potent but I’ve only smelled and owned the early ones so I can’t confirm. I paid $95 for 50ml for a 2001 bottle, so I’m okay with it. But I didn’t find it nearly as boring as you. Interesting!

The juice in that bottle is definitely not in good shape. It shouldn’t look cloudy like your bottle is and is a good sign the juice went bad. This would definitely affect the smell. You said in your video that it smells the same from first spray to dry down which would be right in line with the top notes being gone and maybe most of the middle as well. It doesn’t have to smell funky to mean it’s gone bad. Sometimes you will just lose the top notes and middle notes when they go bad.

HOLY! you did it hahahhahahah but its kind of strange what you getting - chamomile vibes? i only get shaving foam vibes from it - its ginger and incense. maybe the bottle sent to you went bad or something. the juice is normally very clear and in your bottle it is not. I do agree tho - this isnt worth the dollars its goin for. i been reachin it less and less cause i think that its not for me cause i am my 20s and just dont vibe with it as much rn, i will probably retry in my late 30s. i have too much of a youthful character and style to use this rn. however as a creation i really respect and will always strongly like it. no shaving foam vibe scent will ever be better than this.

I have the Parfums Vintage - Pour Homme Intense clone, which is supposed to be very close to the original Envy. It's okay but nothing special, certainly not worth the hype.

i dont want to be insulting to the person that sent this to you, but i have to seriously wonder if its a fake bottle lol. i have probably about that much juice thats in the bottle you were sent, but it sounds like youre describing a completely different fragrance. mine is like very spicy and gingery expensive shaving cream with a sweetness kinda like invasion babare. i dont think this would be office appropriate at all lol, 2 sprays last over a day easy on clothes and i think of it more as a cocky strong date night scent.

So I don’t think it’s a fake and I know it’s not gone bad I just think I didn’t like it and the tea & chamomile smell is just what came to my mind along with similarities to fougere royal. That’s just how I interpreted the scent and I have to imagine it’s going to vary from person to person

I was sad when I ran out of Gucci Envy and then found out it was discontinued. I’m not a big fragrance guy. But my woman works in cosmetics and always brings me home giant bottles of top shelf stuff. And while most of them are pleasant, I really liked the Envy and got a ridiculous amount compliments. I like Chanel Allure and Egoiste. Pretty perplexing your review is out of sync with the majority. It’s pricey for a reason. A reason I guess you don’t understand. Your bottle looks like it might have seen its better days. It’s usually a vivid (almost neon) green. Yours looks flat and sun drenched or something?
