I have always taken a liking to fragrances but my interest in cologne really took off while I was working in a sales management position where the constant interaction prompted me to want to try new and different scents for my personal appeal and enjoyment.
I wanted to share my passion for fragrances and the knowledge of cologne I have acquired from personal experiences.
So I created "Scents of South Jersey". A men's fragrance review channel sharing my interest, opinions, and recommendations regarding classic men's colognes, aftershave and related products.
@@rossburns3169 Lomani pour Homme is a good cheapie come on lol I don’t really like Aspen I gave it away a while ago. Lomani pour Homme is the only Lomani I have aside from pour Homme intense which is the same thing just amped up a bit
While the new version remains excellent, the original formula, crafted with superior ingredients, exudes a warmth and depth akin to the difference between analog and digital photography-both impressive, but the former possesses an irreplaceable magic.
In 2016 they celebrated the 40th anniversary with a special release called "Denim 1976". For sure discontinued but it's still available. Would be an interesting review. Thank you for keeping us updated 👍
I tried it as an after shower every day, not particularly going anywhere kind of fragrance. Its ok, but I do pick up a noticeable synthetic smell that I do not recall from my youth.
If you've never experienced the original you'll like this reformulation. If you have, you'll likely be disappointed. To me, the reformulation is a tease. It evokes memories of what I used to have, and makes me wish I still had my bottle of original. It doesn't smell bad, but like so many things...it's just not as good as the original.
9:01 Versace Eau Fraiche super long lasting? I remember long time ago, maybe 2018 when my friend sprayed it on my hoodie it lasted for weeks but now I bought it in 2024 and its disappointing. On my skin and clothes as well, very low projection and lasts maybe one or two hours.
I'm 24, Lomani PH and Davidoff Cool water are my daily fragrances. Don't know why but these new "expensive" designer colognes, especially the blue ones, are just boring. Not even overused in my country but they're boring for me personally. Lomani I can wear everyday. I will probably buy 15 bottles later :D
I wore this when it was called new yrok nights, Wal-Mart made a version it was basically a cheaper version of that i just bought a new bottle i wore it before i even knew what it was 😂
This is so nice. If i only had 1 fragrance i could use rest of my life i dont think could go wrong with this. Smells great through all stages of wearing and pretty adaptable for all occasions i think.
Thanks brother I was laughing once you started dropping your thoughts. I had a quick wiff of it last year and liked the opening but never had a full wearing. And you're right this just popped up at my local rack here in Canada at $40. I'm gonna pass would rather put my money into a backup bottle of Noir.
You got the facts all wrong. Preferred Stock was actually first released in 1955. Yes 1955. Years later they discontinued it. They brought it back in 1990 under the Stetson brand.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Not sure if you are trying to be rude, but you should never be rude to anybody giving you free knowledge. You're a grown man, are you so weak that it upsets when somebody points out that you were wrong about something? Goof!
I typically switch between Gillette gel deodorant and Arm and hammer. Remember reading that it’s good to switch deodorant every couple of months so your body doesn’t adapt to it. I’m not the kind of guy who needs to use it every day I use it every 3 days and I’m fine. (Of course I shower daily) My pits usually won’t smell at all and the once every 3 days is good for me However I purchased a 3 pack at Costco for 27 bucks (little steep) but Wanted to try something new. Love the smell but am not pleased with the performance. I noticed I have to apply it more frequently then my usual every few days Maybe because it’s made from natural materials? Who knows I like that I don’t have to apply deodorant daily (I’ve read that your body adapts to you applying deodorant daily) and the one day you go without it your pits will smell terrible I don’t think dr squatch will do that for me. Most likely will return and get a refund. That’s my review and experience. Hope this helps If anyone has any recommendations on anything new to try feel free to leave a comment Have an awesome life everyone
Had this in the late 90s wore the hell out of it loved it for years and then it got discontinued, I managed to get hold of a bottle for a decent slightly higher price but not as high as some on ebay so i have it in my collection now and i have a clone dua covet as well and dua gave it a good try but it ain’t quite right lol I’m surprised you didn’t like envy it’s still a perfect 10 for me the creamy feel of it and the incense nobody has replicated it all these years on but it’s a very individual thing fragrance there’s many hugely loved ones that i don’t like at all so i get it Gucci envy ain’t your jam but for me it’s a legend
Recently bought a 100ml bottle for 20$. I myself am a fan of older fragrances and dislike newer sweeter and unisex fragrances but even this was too old. It smells like a grandma.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Thanks for the superfast reply. It’s great to find some cheaper old school fragrances. I’m still looking for a cheap, but good everyday fragrance. Giorgio Beverly Hills was suggested by many people, but it’s not for the summer at all. The patchouli is so strong, even with 2-3 sprays it lasts a really long time.
You sold the hell out of drakar noir ! I’m sold 😹 I just bought dr squatch soap and deodorant from wallymart it I think your correct on all fronts . Way too expensive and potentially ruining shirts . I tried buying online and they want you on a monthly commitment for purchasing each month. Fuck Right Off! Your a soap and deodorant company calm the fuck down 🤦♂️ I told them they’re tarnishing the good name of Sasquatch
