More than 20 years ago, I went to a nursery school. This song was played during the nap time. It was very impressive to me. And now I'm 27 years old. I suddenly remembered this song and searched for it on RU-vid. I didn't even know the title of the song, so it was very difficult to find it. However, I found it at last😭 Listening to this song makes me feel very nostalgic. I’m very happy to listen to it again. I'm Japanese, but I tried my best to write a comment in English. Thank you for reading!
@@ArnoSnyman007 it's not a coincidence. One of the themes in the titanic score intentionally copies this. "Taking her to see" is a good example. In fact the Enya song was used as temp music in the rough edit of the movie. Cameron even approached Enya to write a song for the movie but she declined.
To the generation after us, we listened to this song and we experienced heaven here on earth with it. It’s been over 15 years and it sounds the same… #2024
This is the greatest song Enya has ever made, and probably one of the greatest of all time that will absolutely withstand the test of time. If there is ever another Golden Record situation, this song deserves to go on it.
Most of Enya's songs put me in a hypnosis state of mind and trance.just like my other favorite genre trance music.Celtic classical and trance music are the best!!!

This is more than my childhood. As an adult now, and after hearing this song 100s of times, this is heaven. This song has been playing in the back of my head my whole life. I will always love this song and Enya.
Wow. Your teacher almost sounds like mine back in middle school. She use to play Enya during our math tests to 'calm our minds and focus'. It actually did too. My grades improved anyway. lol
One day, one night, one moment My dreams could be tomorrow One step, one fall, one falter East or west, Over earth or by ocean One way to be my journey This way could be my Book of days No day, no night, no moment Can hold me back from trying I'll flag, I'll fall, I'll falter I'll find my day maybe Far and away Far and away One day, one night, one moment With a dream to be living One step, one fall, one falter And a new world that cross a wide ocean This sway became my journey This day ends together Far and away This day ends together Far and away Far and away.
You're missing the Irish bit after the first verse. As Enya is Irish this bit is equally as important. One day, one night, one moment, My dreams could be, tomorrow. One step, one fall, one falter, East or west, over earth or by ocean. One way to be my journey, This way could be my Book of Days. Ó lá go lá, mo thuras, An bealach fada romham. Ó oíche go hoíche, mo thuras, Na scéalta nach mbeidh a choích. (Translation: From day to day, my journey The long pilgrimage before me From night to night, my journey The stories that will never be again) No day, no night, no moment Can hold me back from trying I'll flag, I'll fall, I'll falter I'll find my day maybe Far and away Far and away One day, one night, one moment With a dream to be living One step, one fall, one falter And a new world that cross a wide ocean This sway became my journey This day ends together Far and away This day ends together Far and away Far and away.
I'm an American. I've always been interested in The Troubles. It cant be fully understood intil you understand the history of the Ulster Plantation. Then there's an element that can never be understood. Man's inhumanity toward his fellow man.
Enya's songs still sound just as wonderful as in previous decades and her videos invite you on a journey to a magic the world of fairy tales.I love that style and time .
Esta canción me acompaño cuando tuve covid, estuve muy grave y me salve gracias a mi hermana. Siempre que la escucho me hace pensar en lo afortunado que soy por seguir viviendo.
Even in the present time, in the year 2022, this song fits very well again. it will always be a song of hope. a song about the end of suffering. whether war or peace, this song is there and lets us pause for a moment. remind us of past atrocities, but it also lets us end with them. ❤❤❤
Strange how people complain about the video and her earings... I myself would consider this video very artistic and technically interesting. Also, I think those old big earrings were beautiful and cool. Finally about the song, I would consider it one of the best ever created since it has it all: melody, pulse, amazing sound, inspiring lyrics (...with a dream to believe in...) and a beautiful choral voice sung in one of the world's biggest language as well as one of the absolutely smallest. The gaelic part sounds really devine!
*Well now that we all know what stars really know now... I'm kinda surprised she even wore them!!! how much I've always loved this song.. Don't like the video so much! Lol*
We’ve seen you four times and loved each show! (Iona 2023 and 2024). This song&video are fantastic, but the whole show was awesome! Thank you for such fab music 🎶🎶
Such a fantastic song. The harmonious quality to it is wonderful. Enya's music is eternal in my book of days. There is absolutely no way this should have gotten a "Golden Razzie Award".
Each and every night, I go to sleep with a different Enya CD playing in my clock radio/CD player. Enya's music is magical and so relaxing. I also awaken to Enya's music. It's a great way to start each day. Peace.
This is my favorite song. About 20 years ago, I went to Kyoto with my boy frirnd. This song was played at Kyoto Station with Christmas illumination. It was very beautiful and impressive. This song reminds me of the day I saw the illumination with him. He is my husband now.
i have spent so long trying to find this song. I couldn't work out who sang it and couldn't figure out the tune so couldn't ask mum. it was only until my parents were talking about Enya that it clicked. thank lord I found it
+aloneinthewild Same! My ballet teacher played this song during one of our concerts when I was a child and I have been searching for it for years. It was driving me crazy!
I couldn't remember the title of this song cause I had this from playlist.com lol. Since that doesn't work anymore I was searching like crazy until I say the title and it clicked lmao
its mesmerizing to listen to her voice, all the background singers and accompanists and then nearly the full orchestra that plays the songs and then find out stat every voice, every instrument and everyone in the background is HER.....layer upon layer until one lovely little talented angel has created another masterpiece. all her
I'm late to this party but... There's no shame whatsoever in having an eclectic appreciation of _quality_ music. I love The Beatles, Elton John, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, ABBA, Linda Ronstadt, Gloria Estefan, and Enya, among many others. 😀 Good is good, and _variety_ is good! 🎻🎷🎸🎺🎹👨🎤
La valse de la vie, avec ses aventures, ses incertitudes, ses défis, ses combats, sa fragilité, ses moments de tendresse qui restent et qui soignent les douleurs, les échecs, les déceptions.
O M G Going through a bereavement forgotten how good Enya music sounds, have been listening to all her songs for the last few hours, what a inspiration
I remember being 11 yr old boy loving this song So peaceful and reminds me of just playing outside in the summer u till it got dark and me dad shouting at me to get home for a bath ha Wish I could go back
En el libro de la historia de la humanidad, deberíamos escribir, las sensaciones más hermosas que despierta la música en nosotros, los humanos, reír, llorar, y amar, son las tres cualidades del ser humano, y ello nos lleva más cerca de la espiritualidad. Gracias Enya 💙💙💙
She certainly doesn't get the recognition of a Taylor Swift, but this artist is in a totally different league of her own in the way she appeals to you on an emotional and spiritual level - no comparison.
@1:22 finally! Found the “My Underwear” song! Me and my best friend when growing up would hear this everyday in school and joke that she said “my underwear” our 6th grade teacher would put this album on during journal time. My best friend David passed away a few years ago and this brings me back to when we met and bonded over music and dumb jokes.
I really and truly love this song. I am such a big fan of enya, she has such a beautiful voice and in my opinion she is one of the most beautiful women in the world. I really hope that she continues to sing with that beautiful voice of hers.
Beloved Enya, knows how to touch the hearts of all of us who listen to her!!! 💘💘💘 She is well aware of the common emotions of all the people the world over. 🌍🌎🌏 That is one of the many reasons that she is an International Super-Star and my Favorite "Solo" Artist of All-Time!!! ⭐🍀⭐🍀⭐ May Almighty God bless her all her days!!! 🙏💖🙏
Perhaps the best Enya song in my opinion. It has something very dreamlike feeling. Almost like a kind of description of paradise in the form of a song.
When everyone finds their soul mate, when everyone has beautiful children and achieves true happiness in life, when we as a species reach beyond the stars with meaning and heart, this song will be playing.
Thank you this celestial song, Enya! It makes part of my life since I was a teenager ( 1995 ). Never forgot it since them, so it really touches my soul. This song has everything to do with my own essence and I really apreciate it for you existing at this time of my life. I wish you all the best!
I discovered this 10 years ago, during college. Back then I would have never imagined that I would end up living in Ireland. One can never imagine that songs we listen can sometimes hide the hints of the future
Makes me think of Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. ❤️
I was SUPER ANNOYED to find out that this song was nominated for a Golden Razzie Award for "Worst Original Song"! Damn the jerks who created that stupid ceremony! This is a wonderful song!
Lol they dont have any credibility. They just follow the trend of the moment and what people love to hate at that time. They nominated Kubrick for the Shining, so that alone shows how much this is bullshit. They also nominate a lot of "ok" movies just because the public bashed it.
This beautiful song reminds me a very good friend of mine. He really loved that song, we enjoyed a lot of times. I wish I could enjoy it with him right now. 😔
This is more than my childhood. As an adult now, and after hearing this song 100s of times, this is heaven. This song has been playing in the back of my head my whole life. I will always love this song and Enya. 💋💋💋
I was still a young college age metal-head...when I first discovered Enya's music (Watermark) and then I heard her signature cinematic title song in "Far and Away"...the film about the migration of the Irish to America and I was simply blown away. Thank you Enya, for the past 40 years of incredible music.
