I get goosebumps every time I hear this song. It was a perfect song for LOTR, if you didnt know, the non-English parts were Elvish, created by Tolkien himself. "mornie utúlië" (darkness has come) and "mornie alantië" (darkness has fallen)
Love Enya's music. It is so calming & peaceful. I have a few of her cds. Enya is an Irish singer, songwriter & musician known for pioneering modern Celtic music. In 1970 several members of Enya's family formed "Clannad" a Celtic folk band. She later went solo in the 80's. She has so many beautiful songs such as "Orinoco Flow", "Caribbean Blue", "March Of The Celts" etc.
Well ... ethereal voices are quite common in THAT special family; so check out the stuff of Enya´s eldest (of four more) sisters named Moya (or Máire) Brennan as for example THIS here (beeing the breakthrough song of theirs): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4zHTcxVjX0I.html
One of the most beautiful songs ever. Enya's voice is one of the most beautiful ones - otherworldly, angelic, fairytale-like. It perfectly fits to Lord of the Rings. ❤ Please continue to react to Original Enya Videos, for example: - So I could find my way - Only if - Carribean Blue - Afer Ventus - Evening falls - Wild Child - Amarantine - Echoes in Rain.
I fully agree. When I was younger in the early 90's and less stressed than more recent times, I used to sometimes be able to relax/ clear my mind enough in meditation to briefly experience what I had no words for, but have more recently heard called 'expanded consciousness', where I reached an altered of consciousness where I experienced a beautifully relaxed, yet alert state where I felt blissfully happy and the sense that all was perfect, for no apparent reason. It was listening to Enya's 'Shepherd Moons' and Phil Coulter's 'Sea of tranquillity' tapes that assisted me in reaching these states. Coincidentally Phil Coulter and Enya come from the neighbouring counties of Donegal and Derry. There are so many wonderful Enya songs. 'May it be' is among my favourites. 'Evening falls' too. Also love 'if I could be where you are' and 'China roses'. I stayed in the same room as my terminally ill mother in 2010 and we regularly went to sleep listening to Enya each night.
Enya, as an Irish singer held back a bit with the instrumentation in some of her more famous songs, the instrumentation that's key in Irish music. But she just went for it in this song. There's sean nós instrumentation all over it and I love it so much. It was like her going back to her roots almost. The instrumentation in Irish sean nós singing is so beautiful and I wish more people heard it. So I was so happy when I heard it in may it be. It makes me so proud. Maybe some songs in our native language will make it some day too. Who knows.
I'm a masculine man, I work hard and take care of the people I love. I strive to be upright. I don't cry, but this music flips an instant switch. I need to listen in private, because it's too powerful to contain. I yearn to be with the Father, and this music envelopes me in his presence. It's unmatched.
Usually do do not post comments about people's reactions. However, your honest geniune reactions touched this person heart. Personally first time heard this song (may it be) was around time mother was battling cancer. Eventually THEE GOOD LORD JESUS CALLED mom Home. This song gave some comfort. Just like to say thank you for your honest real true geniune emotional reactions. 👍
Wonderful emotional reaction video! 👍🏻 Thank you for that!👍🏻 Please continue to react to Enya videos. Enya is one of the most beautiful female artists if all time. I highly recommend Enya's Original Videos from: "Carribean Blue", "Echoes in rain", "So I could find my way", "Anarantine", "Only if" and many more. One question: could you please react to the wonderful singer SISSEL and her awesome live performance of "Slow Down" with the Tabernacle Choir? I am sure you will love it! 🙏🏼🙂 Thank you!🙏🏼 I love your aura 🫶🏻
Thanks for clearing that up...I thought that perhaps, being a native Irish speaker that Enya had graced the song with a wee bit of the charming language...
I first heard her sing 22 years ago and immediately but her CD's which I still play. I play them when I have gone to bed with my room totally dark and listen to her on headphones. I really relaxes my mind and helps me fall asleep as her voice is so soothing.
It´s always interesting to see reactions to music, which has been played for decades and they pretend they never heard it before. Enya, The Beatles, ABBA etc
I cry ever time I hear it. That's why I cannot sing it to my grandchildren. I truly love how she incorporated the Elvish language into the song, and when she sings that bit, the tears start flowing. It's like those Elvish words really do have a magic about them. A beautiful voice singing a beautiful language. I wonder what the whole song would sound like in Elvish? Mornië Utúlië = darkness has come Mornië Alantië = darkness has fallen
