@@thevideos-rj8bo I think it was a work too. Notice that when big Cass breaks free, and he hits the dude that is on top of Enzo he hits him like a wretler would, not like someone in a fight.
people really being worked by these 2, whether it’s being the most over team in wrestling years ago as baby faces or making the internet legitimately angry as heels, these dudes are amazing
yes sir, I'm rewatching WWF / WWE from the start and just hit the end of 1999. So much better back then as it wasn't just in ring action, there was a lot more CRAZY stuff going on backstage and story lines that made no sense but were good and funny to watch pan out. Now it's just quick promos and no talent but a small few!
@@shanereid5292 They were legit upset with one another due to an incident in a match where Cass tore his quad and didn't continue on in the match whereas Enzo thought he should have continued long enough to finish, from my understanding. Their rl friendship was rocked by that somewhat. That's what I meant 😄
@O N You're the only person in the world that thinks that. This always fucking happens when ever I give my opinion about a WWE superstar the next person says he's shit. It really pisses me off. I could say the undertaker is great and the next person would say he's shit. Also learn English.
For sure. Tbh i'm starting to like enzo and cass. This whole showing up at random wrestling shows and causing either real or worked havoc is entertaining. Say what you will about them but that was real heat from the crowd.
@Vinny Mac Yup it was a desperate move by ROH because attendance has dropped drastically at shows across the country since the Elite left. The problem is the ROH fan base doesn't want to watch shitty wrestlers so this could be the beginning of the end for ROH especially if NJPW decides that partnering with AEW is a bettee deal for them which if they announce a tv deal would be.
@@martymcfly2762 idk if "the end " of roh is coming. They still have guys like lethal and Cobb, so the pure wrestling fans will still have their quality wresting. Plus if ROH wants to appeal to a more casual audience, which is what ROH has to do to grow, they have already captured the hardcore fans. Enzo and Cass bring a big spotlight to the product, and I would bet good money Enzo turns into a manager soon if not instantly. Cass isnt the greatest but working in a company like ROH will give him a chance to develop into a monster heel. Yes ROH is hurting from the Elite leaving and guys going to NXT, but that isnt new to ROH, guys have been leaving for years and they have still grown.
@@Muss67 I don't think they have grown much at all in the last 10 years. They seem like they are always just going to be a cult sized alternative product. Bringing in Cass and Enzo isn't going to change their bussiness drastically unless they get on a major TV network. Enzo and Cass gives them a entertaining fresh act but probably won't boost their bussiness in a big way just on their own.
This makes no sense, the marks would and should boo heels by design, it's the smarks who take a bit more coaxing, though they're often fooled too, albeit a different way
@@TheSetesis No hostility toward you. Where I'm from "mark" is the same as fall guy or pansy or doop or dumbass. I'm a fan. I appreciate some wrestling. I took it the wrong way maybe. Usually dick wrestlers who dont care about fans use the term mark.
I'm losing my mind over it for different reasons. I'm actually ok with it, I don't even think it's a bad business move, I would pay to see Enzo getting the shit beat out of him by the Briscoes, a sign that he's actually pretty good at this in an old school way. What I hate is that there are a lot of signs pointing to ROH not telling anything to NJPW about this. And if that is confirm, oh boy that is the ultimate shooting yourself in the foot with a bazooka. No matter how much attention Enzo and Cass bring on the program, it is still not gonna be worth losing the partnership with NJPW. And if you don't believe it can happen, this is the company that is believed to have terminated their partnership with TNA over their booking of Okada while he was on loan there before he was even anybody. You don't disrespect NJPW like that.
Omega66 lol I’m not a smark or a mark I’m just a wrestling fan that knows the difference between a work and shoot no need to get mad it’s really not that serious
@@Blkintrovert88 Oh man you're going to love this answer. The Asian guy shrugging is Gedo and he is the head booker of New Japan. More likely he wasn't happy not knowing wtf is going on
what?! ROH's biggest show of the year, in which NJPW is also involved is a bigger crowd than a regular old TV epsiode of raw?! that just can't be true.
Umm you do realize ROH piggybacking off wrestlemania weekend? Every wrestling promotion goes to whatever city Mania is taking place cause obviously wrestlemania is a huge attraction for fans of wrestling.
How upsetting. The promotion that once gave us Nigel/Danielson, Joe/Punk, Steen/Generico, Is also responsible for Enzo and Cass having jobs in 2019. How the mighty have fallen..
the difference is Hall and Nash were not bottom card guys like enzo and cass. Hall and Nash held just about every title in WWE at the time and while Hall was never wwe world champ he was a former world champ. enzo and cass had like 2 lines and that was it.
"They're meant to be together" Yeah, in the dole queue. Not great in the ring, and Cass doesn't have the personality of my left shoe after a short walk. Enzo clearly overrated himself since that one good match he had. Botches a fair bit, stumbles his lines when he's improvising and generally has that cokehead vibe. Nah. Not impressed. Hope this was a shoot because I'm not excited to see them working again
@@jbsk5205 Why not? They would know the cameras are not looking and that NJPW is full of swearing. Yes, ROH isn't known for swearing but it's not a "PG" Promotion.
@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodsm4708 , no one on NJPW knew it was gonna happen , GOD was pissed and threw the ROH Titles against the wall afterwards . Bubba has come out and said he didn't know either . It was pretty clear NJ young boys were clueless too .
@@themadviking5746 Briscoes & Bubba obviously knew, otherwise Enzo's face would've been busted open. I'd be pissed if I was GOD too. This circus act tainted their win & ruined their version of a Mania moment at the Garden but at the end of the day...still a work. They were doing a decent job at making it look like a shoot till they retweeted this dumb shit.
@@andy2069 Yeah kudos for possibly irritating NJPW whom ROH will literally be nothing without. I've been a fan of ROH for a long time but damn the shit they put on that card compared to NJPW was a complete joke and showed how much the loss of Rhodes, The Bucks, S.C.U., and Hangman really hurt. This show was sold out when they were still on the roster and I guarantee they wouldn't sell shit without NJPW and Enzo & Cass aren't going to draw anywhere near what the Elite did.
And no its not, Not during a title match, and especially not after G.o.D wins. This should have happened during bully ray's match. This not only made the roh tag titles meaningless, it invalidated the match, if the briscos had more energy and intensity for that bullshit, then the actual macth. This is WCW tactics 101. Pure manure.
That was cool! The fact that it blurred the lines make this moment so tense and scary haha. I feel like this is what pro wrestling should be. Blurring the lines because you get a sense of oh crap what’s going to happen. Enzo and Cass may not be household names but they’re entertaining and this moment was cool.
Joshua Pierre very obvious this was a shoot, look at the punches thrown, clearly held back. Not one mark on enzo or cass face. But this was very well executed
Chris_Gullett , I agree with your historical synopsis but in today’s world with such intense scrutiny of every aspect of all things wrestling and that being dominated by so many people seemingly having “inside connections”, to successfully pull of an “invasion” of sorts requires an even greater surprise aspect. I agree with the earlier posts referencing this as reminiscent of Hall & Nash, but slightly updated for the modern wrestling era
This was a work, the ROH guys knew about this but someone backstage forget to tell the NJPW guys what was happening thats why their confusion at the beginning
This is odd. If it's a work, then NJPW got the shaft as it completely overshadowed the end of the tag match where Yano stole the IWGP tag titles, and also it ate into the entrance of their "ace" Tanahashi.. almost making it anti-climatic. This angle may have benefited ROH, but it did nothing to help NJPW. Who got worked? The fans? NJPW? Both? What a waste of a sold out MSG show starring NJPW talent. I can see NJPW looking to work with other American promotions besides ROH after this.
the fact that security didn't rush down there show it was an angle lol 😆 ROH will say otherwise but it's obvious they wanted to make a publicity moment Enzo and Cass How U Doin lol I love them
ROH have already admitted it was an angle. NJPW and the wrestlers in the ring had no idea it was happening though, ROH management told no one about it which is why a lot of NJPW wrestlers have refused to keep working with ROH
GoD was not happy with ROH for pulling a stunt like this on them afterwards. It was supposed to be their moment. They obviously weren't notified. Tama just straight disrespected that tag belt in the post interview!
I think it was smart, why fight with your hands when you can just beat the shit of those losers with a chair. You have to remember bubba came from ECW where fans would literally throw chairs into the ring. I think he’s far from soft, he’s probably the most real one there.
So apparently from what I heard is that the NJ guys didn’t know about this happening. That’s why they looked confused and ROH let them do that. I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve seen
Yeah but I wonder if it was worth it. NJPW doesn't take this kind of crap light. If they truly were not smarten up to this, this might be bad for their relationship. And ROH doesn't want to lose the partnership, not right now and especially not to AEW.
Yep ROH told NJPW nothing. Which is bullshit. If you're gonna do a run-in do it during you're own match. It should've happened at the end of the street fight.
Enzo and Cass are not real friends behind the scenes. This is a work (& a good one too) seeing as these two would have never tagged again unless it was for a good payday
@@conky83 Yeah there are speculations that it's just for the show but the weird thing is you can only see that stuff on the social media but you wont see it on TV :D
@AAMashups after his interview with JR before the show, I wouldn't be surprised as he was talking about how ROH needs to shake things up, get out of it's comfort zone and all that.
@@Cripatron9711 "Get the fuck outa here ya scumbags! No! Youre scumbags! And i took care of you! You pieces of shit... Get out. Leave. NOW. Scumbags. I took care of you..."
this wasn't chaos...this was "wrestling chaos"...IOW...it's a work, they've been hired by ROH, tune in to the TV show next week to see Enzo and Cass get "invited" to explain their side and set up a feud with the Briscoes...
@@themadviking5746 you know it's a work when you send 2 "security" guys to stop an (alledged) 7 footer....the only real things in this clip are enzo's face and Bully Ray's "you stood there and did nothing" to "securities"
ROH didn't know Enzo & Cass were jumping the rails!! C'mon people!! How can you expect the announcers to know what's going on when the guys in the TV truck were going away from the shots & focusing on the next matches!!! If ROH knew about the situation, the announcers would have been told about it LIVE or on pre-recorded TV, they would have described it LIVE, & the announcers would have put it over like a million bucks. Yes ROH had something to do with the Beautiful People showing up because they knew about it & kept quiet after they signed on before G1SC (perfect kayfabe), but they didn't know that Enzo & Cass were showing up, due to the fact that they were banned from WM35 & all its festivities.
Disappointed? What better RoH debut for Enzo & Cass, than "invading" the RoH/NJPW show? In fact, imagine if CM Punk did that. The crowd wouldnt stop cheering, they'd lose their shit. If Enzo & Cass did this at a regular RoH show, it wouldnt have been *as* big of a deal, and they certainly wouldnt have gotten as much boos, as big of a reaction from the crowd as they did here.
@@Walt_Xander94 exactly...he might be the only one disappointed because every single other person loves the fact they showed up, even saying it was the best part of the show
