Left my AR in a soft case on top of my truck, forgot about it and drove down the road. At about 30mph the gun flew off the roof of the truck onto asphalt. The G33 took most the damage, flip to side mount leans a little off center when in the up position, scratch to the adjustment knob on top. That's it, optics are still crystal clear, it's still waterproof, and let me say it took a beating coming off that truck. Bulletproof magnifier.
Just so you know, no one thinks a 10lbs rifle is heavy. That is until they’ve been in a situation with adrenaline pumping and had to hold it at ready for any extended amount of time. Or had to run, even just hike, miles in the woods with it slung. Suddenly you understand why people want a light gun. Heavy is fine having fun at the range with friends. Not so fine when it gets hairy and you’re sucking wind and your arms are shaking from adrenaline.
Been wanting to compare these and the Aimpoint version to a Primary Arms version. I can't get over the cost of these considering all they are is 3x magnification. Keep up the vids.
Since it is able to flip out of the way, I'd like if it were more like 6x. I mean, 3x is low enough to just leave there all the time, IMO, if you're used to the ACOG. If it were higher power I think i'd like it more.
I would like to see a 6x as well. I've never had any experience with the ACOG. However, a 6x magnifier would add some length and take up more rail space. Like I said, it would be interesting to see Eotech make a 6x. But, I find the 3x very suitable for my uses.
Thanks man! It really depends on what you'll be using it for. You can't go wrong with an ACOG. Decide what you're using you're gun for and that'll dictate what you need! Thanks for watching!
I agree. They are VERY costly. I don't have any experience with the primary arms 3x. However, I couldn't imagine PA matching up to the dependability and mount on the EOTech. I'm sure the Aimpoint is just as high of quality. And the quality of glass is very impressive. But they are about $400 more than Primary Arms.
Hey man, I apologize for not replying to you. It was not intentional. This is an older video and I never got a notification of your comment. With that said, I put about two spaces between the magnifier and my EoTech. This is because I have the 512 and the buttons are on the back of the optic so I need the space to access it. However, if you have a model with the side buttons then I would mount it directly behind it. Thanks for the comment!
Couple things not stated. The Eotech magnifier is no replacement for a actual scope as the eye relief, the eye box, and the FOV would be inferior to most all scopes. Also if your rifle is ejecting casings at the 4-5 o'clock, the casings will hit your magnifier when the magnifier is flipped over to the right. This is especially true for guys running adjustable gas blocks on AR's who are dialing in their recoil or changing from suppressed to unsuppressed. On the plus side using a magnifier behind your red dot will really let you sight in your rifle especially at a 36/300 BZO ensuring your rifle is dead nuts accurate. Also 10 ounces placed over your strong arm/ closer to your core does not feel like 10 ounces as compared with an optic or weapons light that is placed in front or away from your core. So weight shouldn't be an issue unless you skipped a lot of gym days.
ZDriver1996 Good points, I didn't mean to suggest that a magnifier could replace a scope. However, if you are going to be using your rifle for engaging targets out to only 200 yards and don't have a need for precision, then a magnifier would be a good option.
Yes definitely has its uses. A flavor that some might prefer. I feel the magnifier is a nice piece to have even if engaging further than 200.. Just wanted to add some info so people see the cons as well as the pros to make an informed decision on what equipment best suits their needs.
@@tevmanuelable Was it a blemished one, or did they sell it so cheaply for some other reason? Because seeing as they're normally sold for 10x that price, you had one hell of a sweet deal.
@@pieterveenders9793 so I'm guessing it was a system error. i use work there part time. A guy called me saying they were marked down on clearances so we bought all three. Then we checked the other stores in the state but no one else had them on clearance....so we got a killer deal on a brand new eotech G33...still got the receipt to prove it lol
@@tevmanuelable Hahaha, good for you! Screw ups like those are pretty rare, so when they do happen, especially when its for something which normally costs 10x as much and any gun owner could really use a couple of, I'd say go for it and buy a couple, I would have done the same ;-)
