This one was a bit tougher than cold blood. It's not the toughest level in EOTU. Though the challenge isn't out yet for a bridge too far so that might change. We will see how annoying those spiders are in a future update.
I saw a video where someone beat it on insane relatively easily by maxing each soldier group's level before creating another, having higher level ants does help to save food, but sometimes having more ants can kill things faster and therefore cause less ants to be lost, not really the case for fire ants though because level 3 soldier tiles are overpowered
I don't think it would, considering it would cost a total of 120 food to get 2 population with level 3, while you get get 2 population with 80 food from 2 lvl 1's
here's the thing, I'm not a sweat, I just want to beat it on the hardest difficulty, if you want sweat, checkout incandescent's videos, the man does worker only runs all the time.
Congrats on beating 4.2 on insane. I do like to point out you can beat a level on insane with pervasive ants if you sabotage the second, third and final wave before it happens(Getting rid of annoying creatures like Velvet ants and Lynx spiders). Also, you were much better off going straight to the two false bombardier larve than checker beetle larve since you lost fewer ants and only required 20 fire ants without a buff to take down.
I mean it doesn't really matter what is more efficient or whatever. as long as you beat the level right? I prefer vigorous for the faster start up even though I like pervasive better
Honestly, try 2.1, Rising tide. It is a very hard levelon insane, and i saw nobody do it on RU-vid. It isso hard in fact, that some people made a guide on how to do it. GL if you DARE!
sheeesh i try the pervasive strat like 4 times and the reason i loose is the speed to the aphid and always late for the first aphid group and later i got overwhelmed to quick 🙂 also gg!
yeah pervasive just seem to lack the speed to get food and aphids as well as having less power for fights, idk vigorous just help out a lot mostly in the early game. That being said I cannot ignore the food you'd save with pervasive
Well this video was made on release, the devs updated the food that enemy creatures drop so they give a lot more, hopefully they won’t need to balance the next tier like that
During one of my practice runs I tried, you need about 300 soldiers, I built only soldiers and when I upgraded the bar did not move and said I still needed x ants
@@ShepherdsPieGaming I noticed that every upgrade counts as more population. Perhaps it's dependent on difficulty level or it was changed later. EDIT: You're right. Only number counts. I forgot that fire ants get doubled when upgraded to level 3.
FC4 insane is just a matter of grinding enough food, having a decent composition (dont go all workers lol) and just... win there´s no real strategy, you just need to be prepared grind enough food and Jelly, upgrade all your ants to max lvl, give them all the jelly upgrades, spend extra jelly on modifications and you *will* win easy as that
have you ever seen a snowball roll down a mountain? it just gets bigger and bigger and bigger, the more snow it attracts the bigger it gets, the bigger it gets the more snow it attracts. It's just an expression for exponential growth
