EOVAN GTS CARBON SUPER VS MEEPO HURRICANE VS EVOLVE HADEAN 

In this video, you compared the Eovan GTS Carbon Super, Meepo Hurricane, & Evolve Hadean. In an earlier video, you compared the Ownboard Zeus, Meepo Hurricane, & Evolve Hadean. So, what I'm suggesting...and, I have a VERY strong feeling a LOT of people would LOVE to see...is a "head-2-head" video putting the Eovan GTS Carbon Super against the Ownboard Zeus. I can virtually guarantee these two boards are on everyone's 'top 5' list, and are probably even on everyone's current 'top 3' list. What I propose...if you're game...is a full-on "head-2-head" using three sets of the same wheels on both boards (say 96-97mm 'street', followed by 105mm or 120mm CloudWheels, and finally 6" pneumatics). With each wheel, things to be tested/compared would be top speed (in the highest mode), longest distance (in the lowest and/or second lowest mode), flat road acceleration (side-by-side), uphill acceleration (also side-by-side), and braking distance (again, side-by-side). I realize this would be a bit more comprehensive than the majority of your "comparison" videos...but, it would also be more informative, which is what people want/need - especially where these two boards are concerned. And, since you have both boards, good be the perfect person to do it. In regards to the top-speed & distance comparisons, since everyone knows the info displayed on the remotes isn't exactly 'accurate', I'd suggest/recommend using a separate GPS device, such as a GNSS unit (these are extremely popular with RCers...especially those involved in no-prep drag racing...as they are extremely accurate in speed & distance reporting). So...are you game? Ready to do a true head-2-head of these two "top contenders", to see which is TRULY 'the best'?

I've put close to 1500 miles on my Eovan board (the first model that came out). Wore out my first set of 175 tires and pretty close to doing the same on the second set. Trashed my first remote from the rain and am on my second. However, after about 800 miles or so I started to have issues with the board and the remote not connecting all the time causing random delays in breaking and accelerating. I love the board, just wish they had a spot in the US to repair their stuff.

you can see as the packs wear down the Eovan is slower off the start and the Meepo pulls away just the same.

As usual : we got all what we look for in that video ;-) Just a suggestion, as an owner of the previous GTS carbon pro, rubber wheels are much more grippy than PU wheels, they never slide even on huge carving. So on standing start, they won’t « skate » ;-) final thing : Compared to the Huricane, i think it has a gear ratio which favors acceleration. appearantly, eovan recommand using its 40t pulley with their 125mm for better top speed than with 105/100mm wheels. Keep going !

you should try larger wheels, that would reduce the torque and have higher top end too. I have the earlier carbon, I have the ABEC 107mm and it's awesome. might be perfect for that torque and top end but I need to get more stable ride, the wobbles at 30mph is scary

You really didn't get much of an assessment there between the three boards. You just said what you like better about one of them very briefly. Any real assessment on the hadean?

Seeing The Hurricane dominate makes me not feel terrible about paying full price. Just got the 120 Cloud wheels from meepo today and they forgot to include the 40t pulley with it…. : / 1st world shit

Thanks for doing the first real-world comparison video of these boards, great work! So based on what we see, is it fair to say that up to 19mph or so the Eovan gives more torque and after that Meepo takes over? In theory the 32T-15T@90mm and the 40T-15T@105mm should be close enough to not factor in so I guess we can ignore the difference. Would be interesting to know if that is power-throttled or simply the default acceleration curves on the speed controller. Is it possible to hook a BT module on Eovan's vesc to get some metrics or have they not soldered in UART connector? Also, is this with the updated version of the Hurricane's ESC?

So at full braking power it locked up almost every time and you had to jump off? Yikes.

Mate excellent video and I m with you I hate these in-between rubber wheels I ve sold mines :).. But as an owner of the OG GTS Pro who tried literally 100s of VESC motor and App setting, I can tell you the following: 1. Your gearing is extremely bad for 105 urethane in race mode (it take any experienced VESC user 10 to mimic this settings) this mode is ment to give you enough torque on heavy pneumatic with 2.85 to 3.2 ratio. Your ratio is very low 2.65 on extra light 105 hence the unmanageable torque and deceleration. 2. The battery of this board is the weak link and you can see it, it's capable of delivering excellent discharge rate for 2-3s then mediocrity kick in, you can see the advantage of Meepo molicel P42. If you exchange the Ling-Gi esc with a proper 4.2 or 6.6 VESC you will get a board that chew both.

Very good video man. Meepo just released some 110mm cyclone airless wheels. Could you by chance compare those to the 120mm cloudwheels on the hurricane? I’m trying to decide which wheels I should get.

Any chance you're going to do the 'Loaded ' Eskate? They say you can fit it on any board, which I think is great. It's biggest down side is it's range. About 12 miles. Oh yeah & it's price. Hopefully you guys do a comparison, I'd be really interested.

I’m enjoying theses comparison videos Fred. Interesting the Hadean couldn’t match the eovan on the hill but the meepo maintained its dominance .

Not a chance is that Hadean in corsa. Takes off way too softly at the start. I’ve got a hurricane ultra, and the Hadeans acceleration from 0-15mph is absolutely brutal and almost throws you off. Yet in this it shows hurricane putting up a good fight from the start, yet the Hadean gets trashed off the line? No chance. There is little to no 2WD boards that keep up with the Hadean for the first 10mph.

No offense to Fred (as he def has more board skills than me) but I'm almost 100% sure that either gearing is all wrong (or all torque to be more apt) or topspd is ltd. Not to say that the Hurricane wouldn't have crushed the Eovan as IMO the 'Cane is the best performing board on the market even at 2x the pricepoint. Reason why I'm 100% is the info data at 8:56 shows a topspd of 28.5mph which is far lower than claimed. Eovan claims 35-37mph & Hurricane claims 35mph (right gearing for both ofcos). Reason why the 'Meepnasty' not only caught up but blew by is cos it was at goin at a higher spd. IMO at least 5-10mph faster while the Eovan was pinned at 28.5mph. Too bad we didn't get the 'Cane's spd data. Also I think due to the what Fred showed, its not unreasonable to assume he was gunning it at mode3 instead of turbo(or race M in Eovan speak). Again I think its the wrong gearing for 90mm PUs. If Race mode was used on stock 7" ATs with 60/66Ts, results woulda been different. I assume accel curves & settings wasn't VESC adjusted for the specific gearing&90mm's. That understandable as the Eovan seems a more complicated setup than normal plus Fred didn't spend much time on the Eovan so's to put out this vid. IMO the assumption of ride outta box maybe not be as applicable on this as other boards esp when we change wheels. IMO ofcos
