Testing a Federal Signal Siratone E.OW.S. 1212 (Electronic Outdoor Warning System) in Ross, Ohio, part of the former Fernald Uranium processing plant warning sirens.
@luppuny11 The entire EOWS series is discontinued, 612 included. It has since been replaced by the Modulator. Rumors have been going around about an electronic Thunderbolt based on the 1212 and 2001, but these have yet to be confirmed and do not seem to be true.
I did a siren hunt yesterday, all 1212s from Fernald are gone except the elementary school. I didn't see any replacements in Butler county except for stickers grove. Maybe I just don't know where to look.
@@cin426 Please note that this comment is from 2009, so my knowledge has changed a lot since then. I believe the Shandon 1212 is also still standing (unless you went there and checked), but it’s obviously inactive. The 1212 in the New Baltimore area and the one at New Haven Rd & Hamilton Cleves Rd were both replaced with T-128s at those locations, while the remainder of new T-128s around there were installed at other locations. The 3 Ross Township T-128s are all in different locations than their 1212s, I’d have to look and see where they are again.
