Me too, HOR sirens are the sirens that make the tone that you could only hear from a childrens nightmares. They are loud, rare and scary as hell.

I think this is the very first video of this siren! Now its all over recorded.

Massapequa Fire Department on Long Island, NY had 5 HOR sirens throughout their district in the 60's and 70's. Two rotated, the other 3 were stationary. They still have HOR siren on all 3 firehouses which get tested every Saturday at noon.

Oh my god dude Im 20 , Was born in hamilton still live here , and every first Wednesday of the month i dread hearing that damn siren i have never heard that siren go off for any natural disasters , only on the days they test it and its annoying as shit this video cant explain wat it really sounds like >.>

No Federal siren ever looked or sounded like this one. Only HOR ever made sirens with a 7/10 ratio (diminished 5th interval).

It sounds "horrible" because it uses a 7/10 port rotors. Making a dissonance known as the devil's interval. Learn your major and minor musical scales.

The new videos of this siren have more rust and less paint on it. Including how rusted the top of the building got.

I dont know much about HOR's but Is the Rotating one the only one sounding or is that black thing to the right of the HOR a siren too?

It puzzles me, how people think these have 3 tones. They only have two rows of ports- 7 and 10. There is no third tone.

First of all, that siren reminds me of the "Shyguys" on Super Mario Bros. 2. Second of all, this is the first siren I've heard that was a tri-tone siren. Interesting. Definitely an attention grabber.
