This is the best tutorial I have viewed on you tube and various blogs. Your explanations are thorough, easy to understand, and your use of the playback with closer views was perfect. I wish I lived in Australia to attend a class with you as my teacher! You give details of the process that others miss. Thank you and thank you again!

🤔 if she used subtitles instead of hand gestures🤷🏻‍♀️... perhaps ? it would be more clear on her instructions when demonstrating the ...dreaded knot. Also, I missed the part where she would provide a close up of her technique AFTER discussing it. Was this part of the instructions ever included? I was thinking, great that you are talking about it, why doesn’t the camera come in for a tight shot of what she is doing? Overall, I appreciate the concise details Sue provides ( types of thread & needles). Nonetheless, the ‘nicker knot’ has yet to be definitely defined😉. Great video overall. It was the most informative one I have watched so far. 👍

Thank you SOO much for your wonderful tutorials!! I have a question about the glue pen: can we use Elmer's disappearing glue sticks instead of the Sewline (or Fons & Porter, etc.)? I'm asking because the Elmer's are SO much cheaper, can be purchased in bulk, and easier to find in stores. I've read online where some people say you can definitely use Elmer's, and others say no. What's your opinion?

Love the tutorial! I have a question about the glue. How long does it last? Can I make a large amount of them before i put then together? Will the glue last until I do all the hexagons needed? I live on a tropical island that gets very humid and I'm afraid they will unstick. I really want to try this method. I do have plastic crafts container to store them in while gluing them all. Thanks

Thanks for your tutorial. I only missed be able to see you sew the stitches as your hands were blocking the view. Especially as I always seem to get my stitches showing up on the front, I was wondering how you vould sew them so little not to show. I understand the 2 threads picking up, but I learn best by vieuwing, so I still love this tutorial! Thanks for posting them!

Sue Daley I need your help! I am new to EPP. I am working with the 1 inch hexagons. I am following everything in this video. I have learned the knicker knot. Now I am having two problems with my practice flower. One is my thread always knots and gets tangled. I keep having to let my work dangle and let it spin until my thread is untangled. The other problem is that I am working on my second row and I have noticed that of my sewing in coming undone. I am not sure why. I always make sure that my KK is a figure eight. What am I doing wrong?

Why glue and baste stitch the paper shapes to the fabric then remove the baste stitching and paper, once shapes are sewn together? Can't one just glue the paper shapes onto the fabric then hand stitch the shapes together, skipping the second step? I'm so confused . That figure 8 stitch. Way over my head.

I am very new to this. I have just purchased some pre-cut hexies that are 2" on each side. My question is, I want to purchase papers. What size papers do I need to purchase? I have been on line looking and many of them are measured according to "finished size." Can someone tell me what is the actual size I need and where is the best on-line place to purchase them from. Thanks. I am going to enjoy these tutorials.
@SueDaleyDesigns
@SueDaleyDesigns 10 лет назад
Hi Candy, ideally you want your fabric cut out with a 1/4" seam allowance on all sides for paper piecing. You could try our 1 1/2" papers and just have a slightly larger seam allowance, or trim your fabric back to 1/4". You can find those here: www.busyfingerspatchwork.com/shop/product/hexagons/

I have been having a hard time trying to make people understand in a facebook group I have joined understand that I just needed to know what size of papers I needed to purchase for my pre-cut 2" hexies. I know they have to be smaller, and I went to paperpiecing.com and they have 2" papers but I was confused if those papers were to be used for a 2" cut hexie, or if the paper itself was 2". Thank you for responding and clearing up my frustration.
