Favorite video so far. The rest are incredible informative and helpful. But this one just had the (black and white) cherry on top. Loved it. Thank you for the video series. So so helpful and very easy to understand. I've never understood more about transmissions, specifically powerglides, than now. I will be contacting you on purchasing parts for my powerglide build. Thanks again!

Two questions... 1. Any special reason why you did it in that old-format style? It is clear that when you recorded it Pete was actually talking 2. Why wouldn't you use a support in a shorty or medium assembly? Is not recommended? Not necessary or it won't work at all? Thanks and nice video series on powerglides!

We forgot to turn on the mic when we filmed this episode, so rather than scrap it and re-shoot it, we thought we'd try and have some fun with a different format & presentation since it's such a short video anyway. Shorty & medium-length Powerglide transmissions require that the short or medium extension housing bolt directly to the back of the case in place of the conventional output shaft support. As such, there's no room to run a conventional output shaft support on these transmissions. The short & medium extension housings act as both the output shaft support and slip yoke support on these types of transmissions.

Hi Pete do you guys use the 1.58 gears sets from sonnax in any of your 2000hp+ builds or is the 1.69 the highest you go

Sure do! We offer the Sonnax 1.58 and 1.65 ratio options in any of our Powerglide builds.

Is it true that you should not use a roller bearing in the governor support, unless you also have roller bearing in the case? (If you have a case with a bushing, you must use a governor support with a bushing???)

No, that's not true. You can run a roller bearing in either location with a bushing in the other without any issues. 😉
